Kagome gladly accepted Youko's hand and smiled just as brightly at him in return. " It's very nice to meet you, but if you will excuse me I have some duties to attend to." Kagome said, releasing Youko and turning to leave. Youko watched Kagome's retreating figure turn the corner and disappear down the path towards the place.

` Humm, Youko mused. ` What an interesting girl, she must be one of the servants form Sesshomaru's palace.' ` I will have to find some time to see her again before I leave.'

Smiling to himself Youko continued on his way to the gardens intent on having some time to himself among the flowers.

Kagome entered the place and made her way to her room. ` I wonder why Youko is here.' ` I never seen him before and I don't think he is part of Sesshomaru's army.' ` Oh well I will just have to ask him about it later.' A passing servant brought Kagome out of her thoughts. " My Lady Kagome, Lord Sesshomaru requests your presents in his study right away."

` I wonder what Sesshomaru needs?' Dismissing the servant with a polite thank you Kagome headed for Sesshomaru's study completely stumped about why he would summon her this late in the evening.

Once Kagome arrived outside the beautifully carved wooded doors of Sesshomaru's study she straightened her clothes and gave a brief knock. " Come." Was the reply she received. Kagome entered the room, closing the doors behind her with a quiet click. Turing around Kagome saw that Sesshomaru wasn't the only one in the room.

There were three other youkai there. One had spiky black hair, and ruby red eyes. He was dress completely in black with a katana (Spelling) at his side. The next person in the room was a wolf demon; he had dark brown hair and had deep blue eyes. He was wearing furs along with some armor and all in all reminded her a lot of Kouga. She was surprised to find that the last person in the room was Youko the fox demon she had met earlier in the garden.

" Kagome please have a seat." Sesshomaru said motioning to the one empty seat left before his desk. Doing as she was bid Kagome crossed the room and sat down folding her hands neatly in her lap. " Kagome," Sesshomaru voiced again. " I would like to introduce you to the lords of maikai. This is Hiei, fire apparition and demon lord of the North." Sesshomaru said gesturing to the black haired man. " This is Kane, wolf demon and the lord of the Southeastern territories, and this," Sesshomaru said motioning to Youko. " Is Youko, fox demon and lord to the Central and Western lands." (A/n remember they are the lords of maikai.)

Kagome stood and bowed respectively, greeting each of the lords before returning to her sear. ` I can't believe that Youko is one of the lords, Oh god what am I going to do.' ` I didn't show him the proper respect at all this afternoon, and worst of all I practically ran him down.' Kagome's thought process however, was broken once again by Sesshomaru.

" My Lords," Sesshomaru address the three youkai before him. " This is Kagome a miko and guest in my home, any information you wish to know about Naraku Kagome possesses." Now that statement got Kagome's attention, it also got some interesting reactions out of the demon lords as well. Kane had a look of pure disbelief on his face; Hiei simply turned up his nose and said `Hn'. Youko however keep his features completely blank making Kagome wonder just what he was thinking.

Behind his collected features Youko's mind was in chaos. ` A miko! I can't believe that she is a miko and a guest of Sesshomaru's that he obviously hold in high regards.' ` I will have to tread carefully with this new information.' " You CAN"T be serious Sesshomaru!" The wolf youkai suddenly exclaimed jumping to his feet. " She is nothing just a HUMAN and a WOMAN at that!"

The demon practically spat out the words while glaring at Kagome as if a look could kill. " I'm quiet serious Lord Kane," Sesshomaru said in his usual calm manner. " Kagome happens to be the miko that defeated Naraku once before, and now that you are dealing with his reincarnation I suggest you listen to what she has to say if you have any hope of saving your lands."

Though Sesshomaru's words were calmly spoken the protectiveness of his tone couldn't be missed. Sitting back down the wolf youkai folded his arm across his chest and remained silent. " It's late," Sesshomaru said after a few minutes we will continue this meeting in the morning. Good-night."

Sesshomaru, Hiei, and Kane left he room immediately but Youko remained behind wanting a minute alone with Kagome. " Well,' Youko said capturing Kagome's arm right before she could escape into the hall way. " I guess I will see you in the morning." Smiling Youko released Kagome and started down the hall then stopping suddenly he called over his shoulder. " I believe it will be a pleasure working with you."
