A split will

"Wait a minute. You led me around the house?" asked yusuke.

"well,in short, yes." She grinned.

" We'd better get back in side. The rain's still pouring down."

"did my grandmother ever talk about me?" kagome asked. Yusuke looked into her eyes and saw a pleading lok in them.

"Yeah" he lied, "all of the time. Constantly comparing me to you."

Kagome knew he was lying. But it made her feel better anyways. They walked back into the house and began to talk about the training they had both received from Genkai. The old man(I'm just gonna call him Jim bob from now on m'kay?) had been put in his room to rant in there. When the reception ended and everyone was saying their goodbyes, yusuke walked up to kagome.

"Um, it was nice to meet you," yusuke stammered.

"Um, yeah. It was nice to meet you too."Kagome blushed. `Oh my god! I'm blushing!'

"Yusuke! Let us leave the family to mourn," spoke a boy with long red hair and green eyes.

"Coming Kurama! Um , hey it was nice meeting you. I was wondering if well maybe …"

"Yusuke ! Hurry up before I come over there and pound you!" yelled another boy. He had red hair too.

"Fine Kuwabara! Yeesh!"

"Um yusuke?"Said kagome, " I think you should go. I wouldn't like you to get hurt."

"Right. I'll see you later." Yusuke walked away. Her words still in his mind. `Keiko say's that to me all the time. Why is it different now? And with her?'

"Yusuke? Are you alright?" Kurama asked.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine."

" Never knew Genkai had a family." Said Kuwabara, " especially since she was so mean."

"Isn't it strange though? Why would she ignore her daughter, husband, and grandson, for one girl?" asked Hiei.

"Kagome has power."Yusuke said." I could tell when I sat next to her. Its really well masked mind you, but it's there. There's a lot of it." He said the last part more to himself than anyone else.

"Hn, we'd better get some sleep before tomorrow. We have to see lawyers and Koenma. Oh, and Kurama, I'm sleeping at your house."

"Why mine ? You're always coming to my house. Why don't you stay with Yukina or something?"

"Your house is bigger."

"Argh! I give up! Later yusuke," said Kurama as he walked away to his house.

"Ya know," yusuke, said, "sometimes I think Hiei is a little…clingy."

"Yeah, listen, I gotta go too. Bye." And Kuwabara left.

Yusuke walked home slowly. Reflecting on things. How he got to become a spirit detective, how he had met everyone of Genkai's relative's, why popcorn was white. When he finally got home, no one was there. No big surprise so he just plopped on his bed and went to sleep.

Kagome woke up the next morning with a sick feeling in her stomach. She needed to reseal the well. Not today, but soon. Today, she had to go see some lawyers, along with her family. It was about her inheritance. "Oh god, why'd she have to die now? Of all times. I could've really used your help with InuYasha grandma."

/flashback/

"Here InuYasha," said kagome, holding out the jewel for him. "Make your wish. InuYasha grasped the jewel in his clawed hand. And wished. He became a full demon in the blink of an eye. Kagome looked at him in a new way. He was no longer the InuYasha she knew and loved. He was the demon InuYasha. Cold, uncaring, and full of haterid forall but her. Not kagome. kikyo. He turned to kikyo. And embraced her.he whispered something into her ear, causing her to smile. They both turned to kagome.

"you have ten seconds to get home and attempt to seal the well kagome. After that I shall come after you and reclaim kikyo's soul."

For a split second, kagome stood there . Shocked. "I suggest that you run little girl." Kikyo said snidely.

Kagome just turned and ran.she knew inu yasha would catch her though. Amazingly enough, kagome made it into the well. As soon as she crossed, she used some of the spells Miroku and kaede had taught her. Sealing ther well. She knew they were nothing compared to her grand mothers abilities, but with her grand mothers new apprentace, and her going back and forth between times, she didn't have a lot of time to spend with her anymore.

"kagome!" yelled her mother from the kitchen. We have to go soon. Hurry up and shower."

Kagome looked in her closet and picked her outfit. It was a drab dark gray shirt, with a slightly lighter shade of gray for the skirt.

Yusukae woke up early. "stupid lawyers. Why can't I just kill em. They're just some low class demons."

He walked into his room after his shower to find hiei in his window.

"gah! Hiei! What're you doin here.?"

"waiting for you baka."

They got on the metro and went to the court house. When they got there, Kurama and Kuwabara were waiting for them. They walked to the room, that the lawer was in . when they gotthere. They saw the higurashi family.

Kagome looked up. She saw yusuke and the other boys from her grand mothers funeral. They all sat down, except for the short one. He stood in the back, glaring. The lawer walked into the room, and sat at the desk.

"ah lets see, oh, yes. Now, I won't have to read to you all what's going to whom, because, k=luckily for me, she's left us a video will." The lawer(he's gonna be mr. Smitty mkay?) got up and popped the tape into the vcr. Genkai's face appered on screen.

"if anyone is viewing this, it means I've died. I'm giving everything to kagome and yusukae. " everyone was shocked. " I want you yusuke, to finish training kagome for me. She'll need all the help she can get if he gets through. " kagome fell from her chair. She was pale, and shaking. "yes kagome, I know. I've known seince you were first born this would be your destiny. I'm sorry I couldn't prepare you for it myself. And if you, moron don't help then you will be cursed. The only way you two can keep your inheritance however is if you both live in the temple. It's an all or nothing deal. Have a nice day"

fuzz appeared on the screen, signaling the end of the video. Mr. Smitty began to talk with mrs. H. yusuke walked over to where his friends were standing.

"wow,"said Kuwabara,"what do you think she was talking about with kagomes destiny?"

"I'm not sure," said Kurama, " whatever it was, or is , is causing kagome a great deal of stress."

"indeed. Her energy is unstable and jumping around," said hiei.

"hey guy's, I should probably pack my gear up. Wanna help?"

"sure"

"not like I have anything better to do."

"I'm not touchin your clothes though urameshi."

"Whatever Kuwabara. hey, do you hear somthjin?"

Kagome sat there shaking. Rocking back and forth in her chair. "How could she have known? Why didn't she help me? Why?! She could not have known!"

Somebody grabbed kagome's shoulder. She jumped and screamed " no InuYasha!"

"who's InuYasha?"asked yusuke.

"huh? I-I … he's … he's nobody. Um I-I gotta go" kagome grabbed her things and left the room.

`I totally blew it back there. why would InuYasha be at the courthouse. Why did I think he was here? Unless he is here. At my home.' "this isn't good," said kagome sitting on the bench.

"your right," said an all to familiar voice. "it's not."

Zorrita: bum bum buuuummmmm. An evil cliffhanger! Don't worry about the whole kagome/ yusuke situation. I have big plans! Oh, and sorry about the way I wrote hiei and kurama's relationship, but I personally don't like my friends at my house every single night. It get's annoying. Unless there's paintball guns.
