Chapter 3:
Last Time:
“Nozomi said no. She wouldn’t help them.” Yusuke growled
This Time:
“Why the Hell NOT!” Yusuke shouted, his voice raised at the ended the sentence. Nozomi’s head whipped around as she threw him a death glare. The one in white shrugged before moving toward Yusuke. Genkai threw a pillow at him, hitting him hard on the head and causing him to fall forward. Koenma frowned at him.
“For on she’s the least capable of healing others then the two of us. Besides we have to take her bindings off for that and her last suitor is still hunting her. Don’t want to risk letting him know where we are by releasing her aura.” Yusuke made an ‘o’ with him mouth but quickly shut it. The girl moved to his side and began looking over his wounds. After probing the one on his shoulder to see how deep it was, which made Yusuke wince. She held her hands over it and they began to glow a light pink as the wound slowly closed.
“By the way my name is Kagome, My sister over there with the red head is Sango.” The Reikai Tantei all turned to see Sango by Jin’s side. She was holding her hands over some of his wounds. Her hands were glowing like Kagome’s only they were a light magenta. She nodded her head in greeting, never taking her eyes off the wounds she was healing.
“Our other sister is Nozomi, sorry about her not helping but it really doesn’t help to have Toru running around trying to catch her.” Again the Tantei all turned to look at the sister they were talking about only this time Nozomi had moved away from the wall and was moving toward Hiei. Hiei’s eyes were narrowed dangerously at her as she looked over his leg. Kagome looked up about the time Hiei was going to say something to Nozomi.
“She says to hold still she’s going to set your leg so Sango or I can heal it.” Hiei nodded but continued to watch her as she moved her hands to each side of his leg. She began to caress and massage his leg, running her hands up and down either side. Hiei slowly relaxed his leg under her light massage, but this caused him to glare harder at her. He didn’t seem to like that she could get his leg to relax. Just as he was about to say something to Nozomi she stopped her hands on the lower half of his leg. Gripping either side she then yanked down and over in one swift motion. Causing the bone to go back into the skin and set. Hiei gritted his teeth and his eyes rolled back into his head for a moment from the pain before they rolled forward and he gave Nozomi a death glare. He could see in her eyes she was smirking at him.
“She said not to move it at all till Kagome gets over there to heal it.” Sango called out from the other side moving back to look over Jin’s wounds that was now fully healed. Hiei continued to glare at Nozomi as she moved over to set Touya’s arm. Only this time she was a lot gentler at the setting of it.
“Does Nozomi not know how to talk?” Kurama questioned softly. Koenma watched as Nozomi set Touya’s arm.
“Yes, She can talk but not when her mask is on. It’s enchanted just like her collar and bracelets are.” Kurama gave Koenma a short nod that he understood and watched as Sango healed his minor wounds. She finished and moved to Kuwabara, glancing to see Botan working on Touya now that Nozomi had set his arm. Kagome moved to Hiei to finish healing his leg. Sango quickly finished healing Kuwabara who was hurt the least and stepped back.
“Well that’s all I can do.” She said as she moved across the room and took a seat by Koenma. She leaned her head on his shoulder as she shook slightly. Jin smirked at her.
“You can’t take more healing?” He questioned and Sango shook her head no. Pointing to Kagome she said in a serious voice.
“Kagome is the best healer out of the three of us, but I am better at it then Nozomi. We all share the same powers it’s just each of us is more skilled in one set then the other two. I can use the ones Kagome uses better then Nozomi, and vise versa.” Jin looked thoughtful and Yusuke looked over at Kagome.
“What are all of your powers?” He chocked his head to the side and eyes Kagome who was finishing up Touya. She glanced at him as she moved to sit by Sango’s side.
“I’m just a simple Miko with a few other smaller abilities.” Kagome all but whispered, chasing Sango to roll her eyes and Botan’s head to pop up from healing Touya. She glanced over her shoulder and frowned at Kagome.
“Your not a simple Miko! Your stronger then Midoriko herself! Stop saying that!” Kurama and Touya’s eyes widened, well Hiei’s gaze narrowed on her. Jin and Yusuke’s mouth dropped open and Kuwabara looked confused. She blushed and looked away from them all. Koenma decided to change the subject seeing Kagome was embarrassed by it. He leaned forward and looked at Nozomi who stood in the shadows by the couch he and the girls were on.
“Nozomi, go back to the scene of both ambushed. Collect any information there. Then I want you to do what you do best. Get back here in two hours, will that be enough time?” Nozomi leaned out of the shadows and nodded. Holding her arms up and out to him she looked over at Kagome. Kagome stood and walked to her side. Taking a bracelet in each hand, she poured a little Miko energy into her hands and there was a snapping sound as the bracelets released and fell into Kagome’s hands. She took them with as she moved back to the couch. Yusuke scowled and looked over at Koenma, who was still looking at Nozomi.
“Try and call the mirror to you also. Don’t get caught I would like to keep Grandfather from skinning me a live. If something happens to you well working for me what he did to father is going to look like a day at the spa compared to what he’ll do to me.” Nozomi smirked under her mask and leaned back into the shadows. As she leaned back she seemed to keep going till it looked like the shadows were swallowing her. Soon she no longer was standing in the room and had literally fallen into the shadow.
Everyone stared at the shadow she had been standing in for a moment till Kuwabara broke the silence, by crying out.
“The shadow just swallowed her! We have to save her!” Everyone rolled their eyes at him and Yusuke leaned back smacking him up side the head. Kurama continued to stare at the shadow she had been in, his eyes flashing from gold to emerald and back again. Yusuke frowned and rubbed the back of his head.
“Why would she be able to get the information and not get caught when we couldn’t even do it?” Kurama answered for Koenma.
“Yusuke she is one person and we are a team, much more noticeable then one person.” His eyes flashed to gold as he said the next part. “If I am not mistaken she is what is called a shadow jumper. They are very rare, and usually have many other abilities that are rare also.” Koenma nodded in answered and Kurama turned to the others as they gave him funny looks from Yusuke and Kuwabara, pared with the curios looks he was getting form Hiei, Jin and Touya.
“I’ve never heard of a shadow jumper. Kurama, Care to share the information you know?” Touya asked in a flat voice. Kurama nodded slowly.
“A shadow jumper is some one who can move from Shadow to Shadow. Usually they can only move threw shadows that are in the same area, mostly in view of the other shadow. How ever there have been three cases I have heard of where the shadow jumper was so powerful they could not only take people with them but walk the dark roads and move from one shadow to any other shadow, even from say this room to Makai. Which is what I am guessing Nozomi just did. Reikai usually takes Shadow Jumpers at birth, powerful or not since the powerful ones pose a great threat to the barrier. You see they can move threw the barrier by way of shadows and the barrier is not made to stop movement like that. Not to mention weaker ones and powerful a like they make great spies, thieves, assassins, etc. They are really hard to catch too since everything has a shadow and it’s hard to remove all shadows from the area. What intrigues me is that I have only heard of shadow jumpers being Immortal Human with Youkai blood in them. The odds of getting an Immortal Human alone are so high they make Silver Kitsune look like field mice. To get one with Youkai blood in it, not to mention to get a Shadow Jumper is too rare to calculate.” Kurama paused and then turned to look at Genkai.
“You say she is your granddaughter, yet I have only heard of one shadow jumper in recent years and that is one of the Makai Himes. A very old family, even as Youko I would not touch that family. How is it that one of your seemingly human granddaughters has the powers of a Makai Hime? Could it be that she is her?” Kurama questioned as he tilted his head to the side making a cute picture that Botan giggled at sitting next to him. Genkai smirked as a quiet giggled spilled out from Kagome. She reached up and pulled off her mask, revealing a lovely heart shaped face, small nose, full cherry red lips and high cheekbones.
“Told Grandma this wouldn’t last long before Youko Kurama figured out who we were.” Sango nodded and removed her mask as well. Revealing a slightly rounder face, and matching nose, cheekbones and lips. Only her lips were more of a strawberry red.
“Since Kurama figure out what we are can the rest of you figure out what family we come from?” Sango taunted and Jin smirked at her, one of his fangs hanging over his lower lip.
“If Kurama’s right and ye’re all Makai Himes then it’s not hard to figure out. It’s said that the heirs to the Inu Taisho household are triplets. So ye all much be them” Kagome nodded
“That would be us.” She relaxed her body and it began to shimmer lightly. After the shimmer died, she turned to face them all fully. On her forehead lay a demon marking that looked like a gold scroll filigree cornet with three stones melted into her skin in the center of the cornet. The middle was a large tear shaped Makai Blood Stone, on either side laid a tear shaped Koorime Tear gem. Seemingly hanging from the cornet in between her eyebrows was a blue crescent moon. On her back lay wings that looked like the sunrise.
Sango did the same when they all turned to look at her. As the shimmer died she had the same demon marking on her forehead as Kagome with two differences. Sango’s was a rose gold color, well the middle stone was a square Makai Blood Stone and on each side was a square Moonstone. Her wings looked like dusk. The opposite of what Kagome’s looked like. She flapped her wings smoothly before laying them against her back. This caused Kagome to laugh, which in turn caused Sango to turn to her and stick her tongue out at her.
“Sango doesn’t like this form very much. She spent too much time in her human one and it took a lot of getting used to for her with the wings.” Sango waved her hand dismissively at her.
“At least I wasn’t the one breaking things by knocking them off the counters with your wings.” It was Kagome’s turn to stick her tongue at Sango. Kurama looked between the two of them.
“You two were not raised with these forms?” Sango sighed and ran her hands threw her ponytail nodding slowly.
“Yes, Father raised me and Mother raised Souta and Kagome.” Touya looked at them then nodded slowly.
“That would mean that Nozomi was the one raised in the Makai at the family estate. Am I correct?” Kagome smiled again.
“Correct. She was raised by their Grandfather in the Family estate and holdings in Makai. She was the stand in heir for all three of them until Kagome and Sango could join her and Grandfather in Makai. She spent most of her life in that form and doesn’t much care for her human form. She’s very used to and attached to her wings.” Genkai answered flatly. Koenma turned to Yusuke whose face was scrunched up in concentration as he was trying to figure something out.
“Please Yusuke don’t try to think to hard. The last thing I need is for you to hurt your self in a way we can’t heal you. Yes, Souta, the Triplets and Myself share a grandfather. No we don’t share a grandmother. Grandfather is Lord Sesshoumaru. He had one mate. His mate was my Grandmother. Well Genkai and he were not mates they did have Souta and the Triplets mother and her twin brother.” Yusuke and Kuwabara looked completely shocked and confused, well Jin and Kurama looked surprised. The only ones who looked like they could under stand were Touya and Hiei.
