Kouga looked at the piece of paper, then back at Inuyasha in shock and hurt. His breathing became ragged as he watched his husband sleep soundly as if nothing were going on. He ran a shakey hand through his tousled locks and tried to hold back the urge to break down into tears.

"H-How could you?" Kouga's voice was but a whisper, barely enough to stir Inuyasha. He went to his dresser and put on a pair of boxers. With clouded vision due to the tears he held back, he then made his way to the closet and fetched a pair of jeans and a button down shirt. Throughout the commotion of trying to find his clothing, Inuyasha stirred at the sounds of his husband fumbling through the closet. He sat up sleepily and looked at his husband.

"Kouga? What are you doing?" Kouga froze in buttoning up his shirt and glared at him, which made Inuyasha raise an eyebrow. He noticed the tear trails on his husband's cheeks and made an attempt to investigate by moving out the bed towards Kouga. "What happene--"

"Don't...come near me!" Kouga backed away towards the doorway, not wanting his husband to do any more damage to his heart. Inuyasha found a pair of boxers and slid them on and stepped out of the bed. "I said stay back! I won't let you hurt me even more..."

Inuyasha saw the hurt look on his face, but couldn't figure out what would make his uda come to tears. He noticed that with every step he took Kouga would back away more and more. "Hurt you? How have I--"

"Don't play dumb! And don't act as if I am. It all makes sense now..." Kouga held up Inuyasha's school schedule, which made Inuyasha's eyes widen in realization. Kouga noticed the look as well. "Yes, that's right. I found out your little secret. You're not even taking statistics! YOU'VE BEEN LYING TO ME THIS WHOLE TIME!" Kouga crumpled up the piece of paper and hurled it at Inuyasha's head.

He didn't bother to defend himself, allowing the wad of paper to hit him. The fact that his husband threw it at him in anger made the light wad of paper feel like a brick. "Kouga...let me explai--"

"WHAT FUCKNIG EXPLANATION?! You cheated on me!" Kouga's face took on rage and was seething with it.

"...what? No I haven't--"

"All those times when Kurama was supposed to be 'tutoring you' you were really seeing HIM behind my back!"

"That isn't true--"

"LIES! All lies..."Kouga fisted his hair in his hands as he ran it through his hair. He began to sob softly, making Inuyasha even more guilty. "I thought you loved me...I thought that what we had together was...perfect..."

"I do love you...please...let me explain..." Inuyasha was on the brink of letting his own tears flow out of his amber eyes. "Kouga..."

"No...no...there's nothing to explain..." Kouga abruptly opened the door and ran into Kurama, who was standing just outside, ready to knock. Kurama had a small smile on his face.

"I just came to ask--"

"Get out." Kouga glared at the red head with spite. Kurama's smile dropped and his eyes widened at the unexpected command.

"Wh-what--"

"Get. Out. How dare you...seduce my husband! How dare you take away the one person I loved most!" Kouga yelled at the very pregnant kitsune. Hiei was standing downstairs, listening to everything. Kurama backed away at the angered male and looked over Kouga's shoulder towards Inuyasha, then back at Kouga.

"I never seduced Inuyasha! We're just--"

"What, friends?! THE HELL YOU ARE! You aren't even tutoring Inuyasha! " Hiei couldn't believe his ears. Deep down inside of him, he knew his kitsune wouldn't do such a thing, but to hear this tore him him up inside. He didn't appreciate another yelling at his kitsune, but he would deal with that later as well.

Kurama's eyes filled with tears and let them cascade down his face. "I swear on Inari I didn't..." He wrapped his arms around his swollen stomach, wincing at a sharp pain. Kouga turned back to Inuyasha in disbelief.

"You...seduced HIM!?" He watched Inuyasha shake his head rapidly, tears staining his cheeks.

"No! Nothing happened--" His sentence was cut off with a raised hand, gesturing for Inuyasha to cease his excuses.

"Is this marriage just a joke to you?" Kouga's cerulean eyes were narrowed as he glared at his husband. "Well..." Kouga ripped off his wedding bands and threw them towards Inuyasha's feet. "Joke's over. And I'm left the fool..." Kouga went for his coat and flip flops and slammed the door open. Inuyasha caught his arm.

"Kouga wait--" Kouga turned his head slightly to the side, solely to acknowledge Inuyasha's presence.

"Let. Go. And don't ever touch me." Kouga's voice was deathly calm as he spoke to his husband. Inuyasha knew what he was capable of and reluctantly released his grip on his arm. Kouga continued out the door and Inuyasha called after him, but he was too late. Kurama covered his mouth, realizing just how unreal this situation seemed. Hiei still stood out of sight, eyes vacant, thinking about what just occured.

'Did Kurama really...what the hell is going on?'

Inuyasha closed the door softly, then leaned his forehead against it, and finally broke down. He clawed at the door in an attempt to reach out for Kouga. "What have I done? Kouga...come back..." His words were broken, as his heart was. "Come back...I love you...I didn't cheat on you..." Inuyasha slid down to his knees and continued to sob. His shoulders shook with each sob, making both Kurama and Hiei feel the intensity of his loss.

Kurama felt a shift in the air and noticed Inuyasha's balcony door was open, a sign that his little firefly left. And if he knew him as well as he thought, Hiei heard the entire confrontation. "Hiei...not you too..." Kurama used the tabletop to support himself. "This isn't happening..." He rubbed his active belly, knowing that the high strung emotions were affecting his unborn daughter. He looked over to Inuyasha, who was hugging himself, still in the same spot by the door. 'Poor Inuyasha...'

Shishio stared at his wall, his back towards the outside of the bed as he was wrapped in his comforter. Aoji came inside the room, with a tray of orange juice, soup, and crackers, knowing full well that toast was out of the question. He saw that his beloved was awake, but hadn't moved from his spot. Aoji set the tray onto a small fold-up table and made his way over to Shishio. He sat on the edge of the bed and stroked his lover's dark locks.

"Beloved, I've brought food." He heard Shishio sigh softly.

"Not hungry." Aoji furrowed his eyebrows in worry.

"You haven't had a decent meal in at least two days. Please, eat something Shishio." Shishio turned over and saw the worry on his lover's face. He sat up slowly and lowered his eyes.

"You know everything...you know what my father has done to me...you saw the pictures. They're proof enough. So why are you still here? Why are you so hng up on a lost cause like me? You deserve better than some...some used--"

"Enough." Aoji cupped Shishio's face between his hands and looked into those soft crimson eyes he grew to love. "I will not tolerate you talking badly of yourself. I love you, and nothing in this realm or any other will change that. Your past, not matter how bad it is, doesn't weigh in on how much my heart belongs to you. So stop trying to push me away, cause we both know I'm strong enough to not budge." He wiped away the tear trails that made its way down Shishio's cheeks.

"Aoji...I'm--"

"Hush. No apologies. You've been apologizing more than you had to." He gently kissed the top of his forehead, making Shishio smile, a forgotten sensation to the teenager. "Now eat. Get your strength back. There's going to be a fight soon, and we're going to win it."

Shishio nodded softly and looked down at the tray. His eyes scanned over the cup of fruit, bowl of cereal, and a glass of orange juice. He looked back up at Aoji in curiosity. "What? No toast?"

"Well, no. Let's just say you'll be needing a new toaster." Aoji wore a shy smile on his face as he confessed to his crime. Shishio shook his head in amusement.

"That's the fourth toaster this month, Aoji." Shishio reached for a slice of an orange and watched his lover turn a slight shade of red. He chewed on the fruit treat and wrapped his arms around his embarrassed boyfriend. "Don't worry about it. A toaster can be replaced, but you can't be." He reached up and let his lips meet Aoji's in a orange flavored kiss. Aoji smiled softly into the kiss and gently stroked the side of Shishio's creamy cheek.

When they both pulled back, each had a loving smile on their features. "Jiraha, beloved." Aoji said softly.

"Mo aishiteru, Aoji. Always."

"Are you sure it's wise to go by yourself, Sora? I can send one of my bodyguards to escort you." Sesshuomaru sat on the edge of their bed, watching his wife brush her hair in the mirror. She sighed and turned around after placing the brush onto the dresser.

"Yes, I'm sure Maru. I'm a big girl now. Excuse the pun." She rubbed her swollen belly affectionately with a soft smile. "I'll be fine, so stop worrying." She watched Sesshoumaru run a hand through his long locks and gave Sora a small smile. He opened his arms for her, wrapping them around him after she made herself comfortable on his lap.

"I can't help but worry, Sora. Tokuya can't be trusted. I'm just..." He sighed in frustration and nuzzled her neck. "I'm just concerned about you and the baby's safety." He looked up into her sky blue orbs with love.

"Maru...thank you for worrying." She kissed his forehead softly. "I promise that if anything goes wrong, I'll call you ASAP, alright? I'll take my cellphone with me and keep it on at all times."

He sighed and nodded softly. "Alright. Just...be careful, adu." He kissed her softly, rubbing her chin with care. Sora cupped his cheek with her free hand. The kiss ended and she looked into amber orbs.

"I will, promise."

Kouga walked down the street, mind full of thoughts that bounced around his head. He looked around him and saw the sidewalks bustling with life despite it being the evening.

'I can't believe this is happening...' He continued to walk with his hands in his pockets and a distant look on his face. 'I can't help but feel as if...he was telling the truth. But everything points to him cheating on me with Kurama.' Kouga rubbed his ring finger, now without his wedding bands.

'Now everything is so messed up. How can things ever be right again?' Kouga stopped and found himself in front of his sister's home. 'I have nowhere else to go now...'

Tokuya sat at his chair in his office, staring at the pregnant woman sitting in front of him. "So, have you come to a decision, Mrs. Nishida?"

"Yes, I have. I've thought long and hard about your 'proposal.' I've looked at it from every angle, and feel confident in my decision."

Tokuya leaned forward in interest, a smirk playing on his face. "Please, go on." Sora nodded.

"I have decided...to not merge with your company." She smirked at his expression. It was mixed with rage, disbelief, and surprise. "If you think you can blackmail me and my family just for my company, you must underestimate how strong we really are."

Tokuya balled his fists tightly and stood. "You...idiotic whore! Do you actually think you can just leave here without consequences?!" The door behind her opened, revealing two muscled men in black suits. Sora looked behind her and her eyes widened. She turned her attention back to Tokuya when he spoke again. "I wasn't even planning to give you any options about your precious company. I tried to be nice, but you leave me very little choice." He snapped his fingers and the two men walked briskly towards her.

'Idiots...' The first goon made a grab for her arm, but suddenly found his arm snapped in two by the pregnant woman. 'Just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I'm defenseless.' He flung the first goon into the second, sending them sliding across the floor. She ran out of the office in a flash, leaving behind an enraged businessman.

"If you must have something done right, do it yourself." Tokuya reached into his desk drawer and pulled out an already loaded gun and dashed off after the preganant woman.

Hiei sat at his favorite spot on a tall building, letting tonight's events sink in. He looked down at the city lights in thought. He came to the secluded spot often to be alone and collect his thoughts.

'Something is wrong...Kurama would never keep anything from me without a valid reason. But everything Kouga said...' The wind blew around him, creating a flurry of black spiky locks.

"No. My kitsune would never betray me in such a way. There's more to this story, I just know it."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Inuyasha moved from his spot by the door and got dressed in a t-shirt and lounge pants. He now sat on the fur rug at the front of their bed, clutching Kouga's wedding rings in his hands. His tears dried up hours ago, since he had nothing left to cry out. He eyes were puffy and red, and his eyes were lifeless.

'Everything reminds me of him...I smell him everywhere...Kouga...I would never cheat on you...I'd rather die than do that.' Inuyasha opened his palms and revealed the silver ring with blue diamonds he gave to Kouga when he proposed to him. 'This isn't the first time he took off his engagement band...' (AN: can anyone remember when Kouga took it off?? If you guess correctly, you'll get a surprise! ^_^) He then turned his attention to the other silver ring given to them during their marital ceremony.

"Please come back uda...I don't think I can live...without you here" Inuyasha said quietly to himself. He heard heavy breathing behind him and shuffling and looked up at a panting, sweating red head. "Kurama?"

"Need...help..." Inuyasha placed the rings into his pants pocket and rushed over to him.

"What's wrong--" He was cut off by a pained scream from Kurama. "Kami...you can't be in labor! You're too early!" He helped Kurama downstairs to the guestroom where he and Hiei were staying. He propped up pillows behind Kurama and cringed at the painful cries. "Wh-what do you want me to do?! I don't have experience in this!"

Kurama reached for Inuyasha's hand and squeezed hard, making Inuyasha scream along with him as another contraction went through his body. "H-Hiei...need...him...Inari..." Inuyasha pulled back Kurama's hair and stroked his hair.

"He'll be here, don't worry. Is there anyone else you want me to call for you? Friends? An ambulence?" Kurama shook his head briskly and looked at Inuyasha.

"No. No one to call...don't leave me here..." Inuyasha wiped away Kurama's tears, sensing his fear and nervousness.

"I won't leave you here alone, so don't worry. You'll be fine--" Kurama braced himself for another contraction, leaving him panting. "We'll get through this, and soon you'll hold your daughter in your arms."

'Damn...where is Hiei?' Inuyasha thought.

Sora ran down the empty hallway and screamed as a bullet whizzed by her head. She looked back and saw that Tokuya was hot on her trail. She narrowly missed the next bullet as she turned the corner. She held her right hand on her belly as she ran.

'Shit...gotta calm Maru.' She saw an exit sign ahead and ran as fast she could towards it. Tokuya paused behind her, out of breath.

"Damn, she more trouble than she's worth." He continued his pursuit, watching her run into the staircase. He smirked. "You're mine."

Sora took out her cellphone as she climbed the stairs as best as she can with her current condition. She tripped on a stair, but managed to catch herself before doing more damage, unfortunately she dropped her cellphone in the process. She attempted to retrieve it, but a bullet ricocheting off the railing made her think twice.

"You can't run from me!" Tokuya taunted as he let more bullets fly towards her.

Sora saw a door ahead of her and opened it, and gasped at what she found, or rather where. "Damnit! Being on a roof is not helping matters much." She heard footsteps behind her and closed the door, hearing bullets ricochet off it. She ran out further, but knew that she couldn't go anywhere, but down. 'No place to go...' She turned back quickly and encountered a tired, sneering Tokuya. With evert step he took towards her, she took another step back, until she met with the edge of the building.

"Looks like this is your stop." He pointed the gun towards her and smirked evilly. "Nice knowing you."

Sora's eyes widened as she felt a piercing pain on her side after the gunshot. The blast jolted her over the edge of the building. She looked up at the night sky, filled with endless stars as she fell away from it. 'I'm sorry Maru...'

Tokuya ran his hand through his thinning hair and brought his tired body over to where she once stood, noticing the blood splatter on the building edge. What he didn't find was most disturbing. He didn't see her body below. "Well, at least she's dead." The business man just shrugged and headed inside.

Sesshoumaru sat at the dining room table, trying to read over some business reports for his company, but his thoughts kept wandering to his wife. He sat back and took off his reading glassed and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"She should have called by now..." He turned at the sound of the doorbell. He saw Aoji walk towards it.

Aoji was surprised at the visitor. "Kouga?" He surveyed his features and knew something was amiss. "What happened?" Aoji stepped aside to let Kouga in and closed the door after him.

Kouga kept his gaze to the floor. "It's over..." Sesshoumaru stood next to Aoji to investigate.

"What's over?" Sesshoumaru inquired. Kouga looked up at the elder Nishida brother with sadness.

"My marriage...he cheated on me..." Kouga looked off the the side, allowing his tears to fall down.

"What?!" All eyes turned to Shishio, who was supporting himself on a table. Aoji walked over to him and help support him.

"Shishio, you shouldn't be out of be--"

"Take me to him. Now!" Shishio looked up at Aoji with determination. "I know for a fact that Ani would never cheat on Kouga-ani!"

"Everything points to him--"

"I. Don't. Care. You're supposed to be his husband! You're supposed to have more faith in him! Did you even let him explain?!"

"There was nothing to explain!" Kouga narrowed his eyes at the teenager, but Shishio was not deterred by him.

"Bullshit! You were too caught up in what you found that you left no room for anything else!" He turned his gaze back to Aoji. "We're leaving." Aoji nodded and helped Shishio, who had a slight limp, walk towards the door. Shishio gave one last glare at Kouga before grabbing their coats and leaving. Sesshoumaru stepped forward and placed a hand onto Kouga's shoulder gently. Kouga looked at him with a hurt expression.

"Are you going to give your two cents too?" Sesshoumaru shook his head.

"No. You have enough change as it is. Things will work out between you two. So don't worry." Sesshoumaru's cellphone rang and he dug in his pocket for it. He saw that it was his wife calling and a look of relief took over his features. He opened the flip phone with haste.

"Sora--"

"She's dead."
