Kagome woke up the next day completely healed but still nude laying on a futon with Onigumo sitting in the corner of the room a baboon pelt wrapped around his waist staring at her. “Oh my dear koibito I have been waiting for you to awaken. I wanted you to be awake when I made you mine” A sadistic smile was placed on his lips as his eyes gazed over her form. She tried to move but looked down to see her nearly invisible restraints. Onigumo had wrapped her up in thin threadlike strings that seemed to be stronger than steal and clung to her form. “There is no getting away my dear I shall have you as mine and your friends will live that was the deal wasn't it and I know you do not wish death upon your dear friends especially not that poor little orphaned kitsune? So my little miko behave or they all shall suffer.”
Kagome sighed in defeat. She knew that this was the fate she had chosen herself and it was by her own hand that fate led her here, but still she never wished to be caged like this held in the hands of a morbid child who's only interest in her was his own fixation. But at least she no longer heard the cries and moans of the shards calling for their protector to ease their pain, her pain. Because she now realized that above all she needed to be near the shards to protect them and keep them pure and if it had nothing to do with her own happiness at least she could do this and complete her duty. She smiled at Naraku a sincere smile just laced with her pain and sorrow and he chuckled and leaned down to kiss her. Maybe, she thought. Just maybe I even purify him. Maybe I can make him pure again and we can live with some little semblance of happiness. Maybe I can get him to undo all that can be undone of his actions. And then we'll be able to raise our children as good normal children… And with that thought Kagome's fate was sealed she then willingly became the mate of the dreaded hanyou Onigumo.
Kagome lived somewhat happily with Onigumo for about four months until he began to try and take conquest of Japan. This power hungry hanyou soon began a ruthless killing spree, in which his mate wanted no part in, but just the same he held her fate and forced her to do his will. Many strong youkai soon started to disappear and human souls lost their bodies. All knew why but none would object due to the fear of penalty. Few were excluded from this hanyou's unlawful tirade and those who were could not go up against him for his mate, once their close friend, would always protect him from them. His mate fought a two-way losing battle to keep her friends and her mate from killing each other. But the more time went on the weaker she became and soon for worry of her safety her mate took her out of Japan for a couple of months leaving one of his incarnations to rule for him. Kagome and her mate stayed out of Japan until the eleventh month anniversary of the day the battle for the shards ended when she gave birth to two hanyou. Upon their return, many assaults began to relinquish the two of their throne of blood. All were defeated by Kagome. But as time stands Kagome was not in her own, and she longed to see the family she had parted with from over a year before, but poor Kagome could not tell her mate such a thing. Kagome just became more and more depressed and such showed in her powers as she fought. She was quickly becoming a cold-blooded killer and took her anger out on any living being that even thought to irritate her. Her patience ran short with all but her children, her two twin children who she kept close to her at all times. These two little hanyou were never allowed to see any but their parents more importantly Kagome. She was quickly becoming attached to them and her mate assumed that was why her fighting was changing. She was just too close to her children and she needed to be separated from them. If that didn't happen, she would become too cold-blooded and would loose her miko. She would no longer be the strong mate that Onigumo desired. So, Onigumo had one of his incarnations, a wind sorceress, kidnap his two young children and take them to a village far away from their mother. When Kagome found out about this she became very enraged at her mate and soon dragged him on a journey to find them. During that entire journey, she made her husband suffer in untold ways. On this journey she…

I looked over at my clock and saw that it was time to get packing and sighed. “Oh well I'll just have to finish this some other time. Suichi was right I should have already been packed. Oh well I'll just hurry then.” I got up from my computer and made my way to my closet. I picked out a few kimonos that I thought I might use then made my way to my normal clothing. I had made it a hobby of mine to shop and well didn't seem to have time to wear all my excessive outfits. I actually wonder if some of my clothing even fit me… maybe I'll find out on this trip. I frowned at my walk-in-closet making faces at some of my clothing then I just left the room and went into the hallway that led to another room. A room filled with about a dozen suitcases of unworn outfits. Once in that room I just picked up three suitcases and placed them next to the one that held my kimonos. A smile graced my face at the work I had done. I felt extremely proud at the work I had done. Suichi was wrong I would be ready in time without even having to do anything. I threw my hands in the air and started doing a little victory dance, just my luck the phone rang. I stared warily at the phone next to my bed then at the one next to my computer and pondered for a moment. Should I answer it and possibly face the wrath of a malicious girl…or just ignore the phone and never feel the pain brought on by my evil little boss. The choices the choices, oh well! I smiled as I saved the file to my laptop, maybe I would have time to finish this stupid thing on my trip after all I had the whole summer. I smirked at the phone. “You will just have to…”
“Honey, it's your editor please get the phone.” Suichi yelled from the kitchen. “And by the way she sound pretty happy that you managed to do this before we left.”
“Suichi really don't you know by now when I don't want to talk to her. Don't you know how to tell I'm avoiding her? How long have we been married what three years? And you still haven't figured out if I don't answer don't. Gods really.” I stomped over the phone and picked it up turning on my sweet voice, you know the one mothers use when they know they've done something wrong and their kids are close to finding out. I stepped out of my room and into the hallway that led to the backdoor to step outside. “Well hello, how are you my wonderful editor.”
“Oh hey Kagome, so when should I come by to pick up the last…Ouch…chapter? Shit!” I heard a loud groan come from the other line, and couldn't help but chuckle a bit. My editor was so weird at times what in the world could she be doing. “Kagome, just ignore the noises I'm in the kitchen with some guys who can't cook.”
“Well since you seem to be busy, why I don't I just drop off the installment at your house?” I looked out at the crisp beautiful Florida sky so glad I had moved here with Suichi. When a couple of minutes had passed without an answer, I yelled out into the phone waiting for an answer. “You stupid idiot, I'm still on the phone. What the hell are you doing… fine I'll take this time to say bye and I'm leaving for Japan right now, see you in a couple of months!”
I hung up the phone with a smirk on my face. I knew that she might come to my home and stop me, but by then I would be long gone back home in Japan with my wonderful and beautiful husband for a nice beautiful getaway and to also see some family and friends. A maniacal laugh escaped my lips before I stopped myself. Old habits die hard. Oh well I quickly grabbed my suitcases and packed them in my car. I stared at my work and how I managed to fit all my suitcases in my black navigator and managed to leave space for Suichi's things. He always managed to travel with at least three big suitcases and that was for travels for just a couple of days, this would be a couple of months who knows what he'll bring. I made my way to the door of my garage and yelled out for Suichi to hurry up. I was in a real hurry to get out of here far from my editor As soon as possible.
He came into the garage and chuckled at my antics. “Let me guess you didn't finish and she doesn't exactly know that yet.”
“Oh shut up, get your stuff and get in the car, we have somewhere to be we have an hour and a half 'til our flight leaves and I don't want to miss the plane. I mean I haven't seen my mom since last summer and I really miss her, and don't you miss your family too? Really I can't believe you just get your stuff so we can go enjoy our vacation!” I crossed my arms under my chest and pouted trying to get my obvious point across especially since I wasn't too happy for being teased. A pout crossed his face as he stepped closer to me. He put his arms around me and pulled me into his chest. He put one hand under my chin so I was looking straight into his exquisite green eyes. He smiled down at me one of his mesmerizing smiles as I felt his hand move down my back and under my pants. I jumped when her gave my bare flesh a soft squeeze to which he just chuckled some more as he leaned down to close the distance between us. I loved the feeling of friction between us and just relaxed into his kiss as I closed my eyes. But as soon as my eyes were closed, he let go of me and backed away. “Hey don't be such a tease you evil baka.”
As I tried to slap his chest but he caught my hand right in the air and leaned down to kiss my breasts. “My dear little Kagome I am no such thing and would not like to be called something as horrid as a tease I'm planning to take this somewhere. After all didn't our mothers threaten if your not pregnant by the time we come for another visit that they'd do their best to make sure you get pregnant?”
I blushed and wriggled my hand out of his grasp. I started to growl under my breath. “Pervert. Hentai. Pervert. Hentai. Pervert. Hetai. Dammit either way I married an asshole.”
I smiled looking up at the beautiful night sky, it had been nearly eighteen hours but it was all worth it we were finally far away from that crazed little thing called an editor. I sighed and hugged Suichi tight as he rubbed circles onto my back. “Oh Suichi isn't that your friend Hiei over there? Did you tell him to come and meet us here?” I looked up at him with a questioning look on my face. He knew how I felt about that certain friend of his. Especially after he tried to hit on me after Suichi and I first started to go out. “You're going to pay for this you heartless bastard!”
“Oh Kagome really he's ok, you just never really got used to him.” He said with a nervous smile. He played with his fingers nervously as I started to glare evilly at him. He couldn't help but wrap an arm around me to try and calm me down.
“I'm completely serious. You wont be getting the kind of fun that we had on the plane for a long, long time Suichi darling. And besides if I didn't get used to him after two years I'm never going to you asshole.” I pushed him away and made my way over to his friend who was giving me a cold glare. “Hello Hiei, it seems my husband will have a lot of time to spend with you while we're here because I don't want to have anything to do with either of you. Goodbye Hiei… oh and Suichi I expect you to get all of my things home without a single scratch.” I smiled at them both and stomped off toward the car rental area. I felt their eyes bore into my back no doubt looks of shock frozen onto their faces. Damn their pretty faces! How does a girl like me get the curse of always being surrounded by men even more beautiful than I can ever dream of being. I sighed at my luck, the luck that could only be awarded to the one who guards the shikon no tama. By the time I was done getting the rental and on the way to my shrine I was already feeling guilty about what I had done but that was no matter I was already on my way home and I was too eager to see my family to turn around and forgive my husband. I looked at the road ahead of me and laughed, he'd be fine after all that is what they say about the invincible Suichi Minamino. I made the last turn into the shrine parking lot and smiled. I grabbed my purse, stepped out of the car, and looked up at the shrine steps. I took the first step and felt I shot run through my spine. I turned around and saw a low level youkai looking at me like I was a piece of meat. The thing freaking attacked me why I should… my vision was intruded by red and I felt my miko recede inside of me. Thin threadlike webs ran up my arms and formed claws on me.
“Kagome, dear your home.” I looked up at the stairs and saw my mother looking down at me and I quickly calmed down. Five years and I'm still adjusting to this era. I waved to my mom and as I felt my miko return I extended the through the ground to purify the youkai that dared attack me. I then ran up the stairs to hug my mom. Since I had left, she let her hair grow down to the small of her back and she completely stopped wearing make-up. She looked absolutely wonderful for a woman her age, her eyes as vibrant as ever. But before I could do so I looked at her stomach and frowned, for a woman who wanted grandchildren she was way too active. “Oh Kagome where is your husband?”
“Where is your figure… or your explanation for that matter?” I lightly poked her stomach.
Kagome woke up the next day completely healed but still nude laying on a futon with Onigumo sitting in the corner of the room a baboon pelt wrapped around his waist staring at her. “Oh my dear koibito I have been waiting for you to awaken. “Where is your figure… or your explanation for that matter?” I lightly poked her stomach.
I glared at her lightly as she turned around and put on confused look and simply replied in her sweetest voice. “Kagome what explanation? I have no idea what you are talking about. You shouldn't try and confuse people like that one day someone wont be as understanding.”
“Uhuh like I believe you, ya liar… and the explanation would be about why I'm gonna have a little brother or sister when I'm well into my twenties. My dear mother can you explain this to me?” I wrapped my arms around her so that my hands rested over her plump belly and under her rounded breasts. “Weren't Souta, Yuu, and I enough of a burden for an old lady like you?”
“Why never, and what would give you the idea that I'm pregnant… are you saying I'm fat?” my mother put her acting skills to great use as she pretended to be hurt at the comment. She must have forgotten that I had always known she was happiest when pregnant just for the sake that otherwise she could never be as plump as she always wanted to be.
“Fine mother be that way since you don't want to tell me I'll find out some other way. Maybe at Souta's expense, speaking of him is he here yet by any chance?” we had begun to walk the rest of the way to the shrine in this same position while those people who came to visit and to pray stared at us like we were aliens. I couldn't help but want to laugh at them, but lucky for me I didn't. I mean what do the think, a woman who has been looked at with eyes dying for mercy, eye telling her one day her own end will come, the eyes of her friends filled with hatred as she comes close to breaking her promise and almost causes their demise! Do they think that mere looks of disgust among other things will even faze her as she is enjoying the company of her well pregnant mother? Do they think I'll drop my arms just so they are comfortable and then beg for their forgiveness, no I wasn't going to do it then and I sure as hell wont do it now.
By now, I had completely tuned my mother out until she said something that bothered me dearly. “Yusuke and Atsuko are coming over this afternoon. I thought that would be nice since you and your brothers would be home today, and after all he used to…”
“Never mention that again mother and he will be allowed to live, and mom by the way have you noticed any strange youkai around the place lately?” She turned around to look at me as she opened the door to the house. She sighed and ushered me in quickly so she could shut the door behind us with a nervous smile on her face. “So dear mother what do you have to do with the youkai?”
“Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a youkai as an father?” she said walking towards the kitchen.
“Nope, never, couldn't even dream of such a thing. And could you just get to the point and stop beating around the bush.” I said not entirely happy at the direction this conversation seemed to be going afraid that I already knew what she was getting at.
“Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have hanyou as siblings?” she asked as she took out two cans of tea from the fridge and handed me one. I started to notice how she began to twitch ever so slightly trying not to draw attention to it. That's when I knew my fears were realized.
“Do the others know?” I knew that if I had asked anything else then this would turn into an all out argument leading to how I had left them without even telling them once or coming back for a visit for some youkai that wasn't Inu Yasha. And then it would lead down the road to what the hell was I doing why I would never tell them, why I wouldn't even talk about it to them? The choices I make for peace.
“Yes and you're the only one left to meet him,” she turned away form me towards the stair and I could feel the tension wash from her as I heard her call someone down. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad after all if he has been in Ningenkai for this long without Koenma doing anything about it he can't be that bad. “Oh come on koi, it's not like she's gonna kill you.”
I looked at the stairs as the person she had been calling came down and saw someone I had never expected to see and I ran up and hugged him. My mother couldn't have chosen a better mate or a better father for her children. I smiled up at him and saw the shock clearly written on his face after all the last time he saw me I was a cold-blooded killer and had almost turned on him. And I'm sure the last he heard of me was that me and my mate were finally put to rest. But here I was now hanging onto his torso tears burning against my eyes as a goofy smile graced my lips. To be honest I had never thought to look for him or any of my other friends when in Makai for the pure thought that they had to be dead, but no, he was here alive, mated to my mother. Then it hit me mated to my mother… I let go of him and looked him in the eye letting the full extent of my anger radiate as he unconsciously took a step back. For all he knew I still wanted his blood on my hands even thought that was all those years ago. I heard my mother sigh as she yelled up to me eager to get my attention off of harming her mate. “So I see you and my mate have already met… And Kagome I'm sure you wont do anything to harm him right.”
My mothers command rang in my ears as I looked from her to the youkai in front of me and a smile graced our lips. My mother knew I wouldn't do anything and really, I didn't want to but how could I express my bent in anger now? “Fine mother, but he better not be like this when my husband gets here after all he's just a ningen and probably wouldn't take this very well.”
“Sure, besides your cousin and your aunt aren't the most rational of people and would probably try calling the police on us upon seeing him like that and they'll probably be here long before Suichi.” We gave each other knowing smiles at what might really happen. Atsuko would get extremely drunk, and Yusuke would see if he could beat him in a fight. Once Yusuke was beaten to a pulp, Atsuko would try calling an ambulance but being the way she is when she's drunk would end up asking for the police instead. Ah the predictability of family, something you can never outgrow.
I turned back to my former friend and ally with a reassuring smile. “So what name are you going by in this era?” A simple question, the only one I had for him. All the other questions running through my head I'd have to ask when we were alone since they were either too complex or would anger my mother.
“The same name you forsook all those years ago.” He glared down at me making shivers run through my spine. I knew why he hated me, they all must have hated me. I became Naraku's mate to save them and almost ended up killing them myself. Have to expect the love to be lost there.
“I'm a different person now after all that was a whole lifetime ago.” I turned away. “Hate me if you must, but please never speak of such things to anyone especially not my mother, for even you know what I can do, and that was before I grew in strength.”
“Why are you refusing to say my name afraid if you do I wont really be standing here?” I turned to look at him and saw the smirk etched on his face at seeing that he struck a cord.
“Something like that.”
Tenchi Usagi: There chapter two is finished at last
Tenusa: We hoped you enjoyed the story, if you didn't well bleh just flame Tenchi and tell her what you think she can improve upon she'll love it out loud
Tenchi Usagi: Yes I will. After all, without the heat of the flames I'll never become a diamond of an author.
