Prologue



“Inuyasha!” A raven haired girl called out. “Feh! What do you want wench?” said Inuyasha. The young girl had grown flustered at Inuyasha. “Sit Boy.” She had waited for the thud but nothing came.

“Huh? What happened. Why didn't the rosary work?” said a confused Kagome. Just after the words had left her lips, an arrow had flew by her causing a semi-deep scratch on her cheek.

Kikyou had come out of the bushes and stood beside Inuyasha who gave her a chaste kiss. “W-w-what are you doing Inuyasha?” Kagome had asked while her heart that the hanyou had held was crushed.

“Give me the jewel wench and I'll consider giving you a quick and painless death.” said Inuyasha as his eyes started to bleed red. “Where's Tetsaiga Inuyasha” Kagome had said after noticing the red in his eyes.

“Inuyasha, why are you even talking to my copy? Just get rid of her so I can have MY soul back” Kikyou said with a smirk. “This isn't your soul! I am an original soul. Midoriko had told me! The only reason that we look alike is because of the Shikon No Tama!”

“Feh! That's a lie. How would Midoriko come to a worthless little girl.” Inuyasha said in a disgusted tone. “Enough talk Inuyasha I will just kill the girl and take the jewel and my soul back.” Kikyou had drawn an arrow and was ready to fire. Kagome had lowered her head so they couldn't see her eyes.

“Fine Kikyou if you want to fight me then go ahead. I assure you though that it is not me who will be hurt in the end.” “What could a pathetic girl like you do to me?” Kikyou spat. “Midoriko had not just come to my dreams to tell me that I wasn't your reincarnation. She had also trained me and believe me. I have surpassed her.” Kagome said with malice in her voice.

With her head still down she had unleashed her power for them to get a taste of. She lifted her head for them to see her. They had saw the ocean blue eyes that they were familiar with but they had also saw a intense green one. “I'm not what it seems Inuyasha.” She spat his name out like it was a foul poison. “Keh. Like I care about you. Your just a worthless human.” That's why Inuyasha had said but on the inside he was panicking a little from the current turn of events. “Oh am I Inuyasha? Well you can see for yourself.”

Black smoke began to cover Kagome. When the smoke disappeared what stood before them was a young woman with the same black hair as Kagome. Only black kitsune ears stood upon her head, each with a jagged silver highlight. A long fluffy tail just like the ears, black with a silver highlight. She had the left eye ocean blue and the right eye forest green. She was wearing a black kimono with a silver rose on it. All in all, she beautiful. “What do you think Inuyasha? How about you Kikyou? You still think that I`m a human? I am one of the last of my kind. A midnight moon kitsune.”

They were both too shocked to say anything. Kikyou was the first one to speak. “No matter, I will have my soul back and take the Shikon.” Kikyou had fired the arrow she had. It was heading straight to Kagome. She didn't move. Just at the last second she had jumped out of the way and taken out her treasured katana.

“I can't believe you would go leave me for that clay bitch Inuyasha. And after all that we have done together and you still betray me. I won't forgive you. This is the last time that I will see you. Remember Inuyasha, you did this to yourself.” With that she had taken her katana and strike down onto the earth. That at first had done nothing. “The stupid little girl was just bluffing.” Kikyou had laughed. But soon after there was a giant wave of demonic, spiritual, and miko ki coming towards both Kikyou and Inuyasha. They had both perished on contact. “Goodbye Inuyasha… I will never forget you.” Kagome had said with tears streaming down her face.

She had walked back into the village to find Shippo. She had walked into Kaede's hut and a blur of rusty brown had hit her. “Kagome!!! Your Back!” Exclaimed a very happy Shippo. “Shippo, how about you and me stay at my time?” Shippo's eyes grew wide. “Really Kagome? Are you serious? But what about Inuyasha?” Kagome winced at his name. “Don't worry Shippo. Inuyasha won't bother us anymore.” Kagome said quietly. “Ok mama” Shippo quickly covered his mouth when he had accidentally said `mama'. Kagome laughed at the kit's reaction. “Shippo, if you really want to call me mama than you can. I would be honored to be your mother. Shippo had a big grin on his face. “So mama, when are we leaving?” “Were going to leave after tonight. Okay honey?” Shippo blushed at the word honey and nodded his head. “Ok, now get some sleep.” After that Kagome and Shippo both snuggled into the sleeping bag and slowly drifted into dreamless sleep.
