Calm

Shimura woke up to the sound of the alarm clock. She was certain it was a device made in hell, signaling the

start of what was sure to be a dull day at school. She grudgingly fell out of bed and went to the

mirror. She was petite but strong and an average 5'3, with waist long golden hair and a

deep blue color in her eyes. She saw a frizzy haired, short, and tousled human. She

went to the bathroom and got in the shower. She absent-mindedly smoothed her hair

down against the pulsating water. She washed herself and got out. She was refreshed

and for a moment she imagined herself far away from the insolent human world and in

a meadow watching the grass sway gently in the wind. This dream was smashed by

the sound of her alarm clock that rang every 5 minutes, she had forgotten and was

annoyed with herself for it. She wrapped herself up and smoothly walked over to it and

tapped it smartly. She sighed and picked up the uniform that lay lonely on a dresser

top. She got dressed and went down stairs, glancing at the clock that read 7:27. She

lazily grabbed an apple for her fridge and walked out of the house. She walked along

the path less taken so to speak, preferring to walk alone she took the road into the

gloomy park. She was a natural born loner, keeping to herself rather than endearing

herself to the humans at her school. It was just as well since the girls were envious,

and jealous of her beauty, while the boys didn't have the guts to approach her.

She reached the front doors of her school and noticed that no one was around, she

must be late. It was the first day of school and she was late, oh well, she was always

late, but who cared, she always had great grades, these humans are so ignorant, she

thought, to think that any of them couldn't ace those foolish tests was beyond her. She

trotted down the hallway until she reached her destination, she grabbed the door

handle and entered the deathly silent class. The class was amazed she had the gull to

be late to this class. The teacher always had been a mean little tyrant, she

remembered. She gave a non-chalant glance to the class and then quietly sat down in

her seat.

The teacher whirled on her, " Late again Sanada?".

"What of it?", she calmly replied.

" I'll tell you what! Detention! this afternoon!", he fumed, she was such an

arrogant student.

" I don't think so", she said.

" What do you mean I don't think so?", he screamed.

" Did I stutter? I'm not going to serve detention", she responded with an

unchanging face and a cool posture.

" I would rather spend my afternoon doing something else", she added.

By now the teacher was busting with badly suppressed

anger. Shimura saw this, and not wanting to deal with it picked up her bag and walked

out of the stunned classroom. The teacher was so shocked he couldn't say a word as

she did it. She walked out of school, she had had enough. She wandered outside and

headed to the same dark park she had come out of, she approached the great oak in

the corner, her favorite. She gracefully bounded on to a nearby branch and settled

down for a much needed nap. Little did she know she would soon awaken to a certain
