Tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless
Lost under the surface
I don't know what you are expecting of me
Put under the pressure
Of walking in your shoes

"Come on, Kagome! Concentrate!" Hiei yelled at her. He then charged at her with
his katana. He charged at her at a face pace that Kagome could not keep up with.
"I-I… can't!" She shouted. She was wearing dark blue sweatpants and a white t-
shirt and was holding a katana. She was sweating a lot, and she looked like she was about
to collapse in any second.
When Hiei was about one foot away from her, Kagome closed her eyes waiting
for the impact. Suddenly, a pinkish-blue color surrounded her, and a pinkish-blue orb was
in front of Kagome's chest and shot out hitting Hiei square in the chest.
When Kagome opened her eyes, she gasped. She did not know what happened,
but Hiei flew back ten feet away from her. He had hit some trees along the way and there
was a trail of blood along the way. He did not even seem to move a muscle and seemed
not to be even breathing.

[Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow]
Every step that I take is another mistake to you

Kagome rushed towards Hiei's side as fast as she could. Hiei was lying on his
chest side, and Kagome was trying to push him on his backside. "Please, Hiei, don't die
on me." Kagome whispered, while streams of tears were running down her face.
She finally got Hiei on his backside. She gasped at what she saw. Hiei's body in
front was all bloody. She could tell that he was barely breathing now.

I've become so numb
I can feel you there
Become so tired
So much more aware
I'm becoming this
All I want to do
Is be more like me
And be less like you

"Hiei, please don't die on me!" Kagome cried out. She was crying on top of his
body, and she seemed not to want to let go of him. Hiei raised a weak hand towards
Kagome's face.
"Kagome, don't cry." He coughed out, while spitting blood out. Kagome sniffled
back some tears, but they kept rushing down her face.

Can't you see that you're smothering me
Holding too tightly
Afraid to lose control
'Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you

"Don't die, Hiei, please don't die. Don't die on me." She whispered. Hiei gave a
weak chuckle at that.
"I can't promise you that, Kagome. The only thing I could give you is that…"
Hiei could not finish his sentence, because he had coughed off blood.

Is more than I can take

"Hiei, just don't go away," Kagome whispered, "because I… I…" Hiei looked at
her. Blood was dripping down from his mouth. She cried on him.
"You…?" Hiei managed to choke out, while coughing up blood.

"Hiei, I thought, I would have all the time in the world to tell you this. But, it
seems, I didn't." Kagome whispered. She placed Hiei on her lap, and she was running her
hand against his hair.
"Kagome…?" Hiei said. Kagome looked at him with deep sorrow and… regret?

And I know
I may end up failing too
But I know
You were just like me
With someone disappointed in you

"Aishiteru, Kagome." He whispered as he fell into eternal darkness. Kagome
welled up into tears and began sobbing uncontrollably.
"Aishiteru! Aishiteru, Hiei!" She kept on chanting to him, but she knew he could
never hear that from her. She knew it was pointless, but she kept saying it repeatedly. She
was shaking him hoping he would wake up from that eternal slumber.
"I'm sorry, Hiei. I should have told you earlier." She whispered. "I was foolish
enough not to tell you earlier. I wish I could go back in time to fix it, but I know I cannot.
Please, Hiei, please, come back for me."
A tear spilled onto Hiei's forehead. Unknown to Kagome, it was glowing of a
pure white color. Kagome's eyes closed wishing he could come back to her.

Hiei's body started to glow of a whitish color. His body started to heal, and he
slowly awoke. The first thing he saw was Kagome's eyes closed trying to force back the
tears that were trying to escape. He heard her whispering, "Aishiteru, Hiei" repeatedly.

"Kagome, stop crying." Hiei commanded. It sounded harsh, but if you listened
closely, it was in a soft tone. Kagome opened her eyes to see who said that. She could not
believe what she saw.
"Hiei!" She literally pounced on him. Her arms looped around his neck and kissed
him intently. She pulled back and did something very unexpected.

A loud slap heard throughout the forest, and a big red handprint imprinted on his
left cheek. Hiei gave her a half-hearted glare.
"Don't you ever dare die on me like that again." Kagome said, and Hiei laughed
at that.
"I promise, Kagome." Hiei said as he pulled her into a deep kiss.
