A girl with dark, ebony hair and chocolate brown eyes filled with worry and

consent wandered around the Inuyasha forest searching for someone. "Kurama…?

Kurama, where are you? It's late, you should go back to Kaede's hut now. Everyone

seems to be worrying about you." Her voice was angelic and soothing, but it held fear for

her friend's well being.

A boy that looked about fifteen with long, red, silky hair and emerald green eyes

lied on a tree branch staring off into nothingness, not even hearing the girl.

"Kurama…?" The boy heard his name called. He looked to see who called him.

`Kagome!' He mused, `But, why would she be looking for me?'

"Ah! Kurama!" She screamed. Kurama jumped down from his tree branch and

rushed towards where Kagome was.

Look here she comes now

Bow down and stare in wonder

Oh how we love you

No flaws when you're pretending

But now I know she

Kurama finally reached the clearing, where he heard Kagome's voice at. He found

no one, and he tried to look for his scent, but found nothing. "Kagome, where are you!?"

Kurama yelled, scared to death. He looked around and heard… giggling?

"Okay, Kagome, stop hiding now. You really got me scared there." He said. After

a few seconds, he said, "Kagome…?"

Kagome tackled Kurama to the ground and started tickling him to death. "Say

uncle."

"U-un…" Kurama decided not to say uncle and kissed Kagome hard on the lips.

Kagome froze not knowing what to do. Her arms mindlessly looped around his neck, and

she could feel two strong arms around her waist bringing her closer to Kurama.

Without the mask where will you hide

Kurama quickly pulled away from the kiss, and Kagome slightly whimpered but

Kurama didn't notice. `What was I thinking?! Kagome loves Inuyasha not me!' He

mentally scolded himself. He looked at Kagome and was about to apologize when.

"You don't have to apologize, Kurama. Because I…" She mumbled the last two

words quickly, not even a youkai would be able to catch what she was saying. Kurama

raised a questioning eyebrow at her.

"Could you please repeat that, Kagome?" He asked. Kagome blushed crimson.

"I love you," she began, "It all started, when I first caught sight of you, and how

you were… smart, kind, and generous. I thought, at first, it was just a minor crush; but I

was wrong." Kurama was shocked tremendously.

"But I thought you love Inuyasha. You made it even look like you even loved him.

And, that one time, you and he went to the forest. I thought you and Inuyasha were going

to become mates." Kurama said.

"I did not, exactly, love Inuyasha. I just made everybody think that, since

everybody says that I'm Kikyou's reincarnation and that I would mate with Inuyasha,

also I just didn't want you… to know." Kagome said.

"But, why a secret?" Kurama asked.

"Because, I thought, you would hate me." Kagome said. She turned her back

towards Kurama and tilted her head down in shame. She felt Kurama wrap two arms

around her waist protectively, and she looked up at Kurama's face.

"I would never hate you, Kagome, because…" Kurama hesitated, "…I love you."

The word was foreign to him. He knew what it was and felt it towards his mother, but this

was very different.

Kagome brimmed with tears and started crying on his chest. Kurama used one

hand to cup her chin and gently lifted her chin to look at him. He leaned his face towards

hers, and she leaned towards his. Their lips touched, and unknown to them a certain

hanyou had watched the whole scene.
