"I never thought I'd see this place again!" Kuwabara said walking into the room they will be staying at during the Dark Tournament.

"You and me both..." Yusuke sighed.

"At least we can say you stayed awake for the entire boat ride coming this time." Kuwabara noted. "…but Kurama seems to be the lazy sleeper this time." He watched Yusuke set the red head down on the couch.

"Can you honestly blame him? He's trained himself to the brink of dying a few times." Hiei said. 'How long can he keep up the distance he's forcing between him and Kiara…?' Hiei couldn't help but wonder for a moment. "That's a lot more than I can say for you."

"You listen to me shorty, I may not have come close to dying any of my outings but I have trained hard."

"Sure… whatever…" Hiei said.

"Let's just say it's a good thing he had his mind focused on his training." Botan's voice rang out making Yusuke and Kuwabara cringe. "He'll need all the focus he can get… especially after the decision of your fifth member." As if on cue a small body with a hood left the one bed room.

"We have a fifth member?" Yusuke couldn't help but ask. They had decided to wing it with four members and when the finals show up they'd have Koenma fill in again.

"Yes, you have a fifth member… by orders of Koenma."

"Kinda scrawny, don't you think?" Kuwabara picked up the guy by the back of his cloak. The didn't move much for that manner.

"I'd be careful of who you decide to call scrawny." Botan said quickly.

"It's okay Botan…" A male's voice came from under the hood making Botan freeze. "It is much preferred I keep my cool anyway."

"So does girly man have a name or what?"

"You have the honor of calling me Kohaku…" The person said.

"Is it necessary to have a fifth member? The four of us will sustain well until the final round."

"You may not want me here but I know you will need my aid in this tournament. It is lucky for you I have no real needs or wants from the grand prize, you can do as you wish with the staff." Kohaku said as a knock sounded from the other side of the door. Kohaku opened the door to reveal a demon bellhop with a tray.

"Complimentary coffee..." The demon said walking in to place the cups on the table then left the room cursing the team death in their sleep. Kohaku stared at the door before becoming comfortable in a corner with his legs crossed before growing completely still and silent.

"Isn't he sweet to be the first to wish us dead?" Yusuke said with sarcasm dripping from his voice.

"I'll let you boys sleep." Botan said walking out of the room. As soon as she left Kuwabara pulled a can of soda out of his bag.

"Anyone else want one?" He asked receiving silence while everyone sipped their coffee.

"I will…" Kohaku said suddenly holding his hand up to catch it. His head was still bowed but he was ready to catch it anyway.

"Okay…" Kuwabara looked at Yusuke who mere shrugged. He tossed the small can towards the newcomer who wasn't even looking. The can seemed stop completely in midair before lowering itself to Kohaku's other hand. He opened the can and drank it all down at once before standing and walking into the bedroom with one bed.

"I don't like him already." Kuwabara said.

"Yes, but it was Koenma's orders to have him around. There is little we can say about that… and who knows he might just be an accessory to the group we can actually use."

"So you're finally awake…" Hiei pointed out the obvious.

"Yes, I hope the preliminaries were nothing to worry about."

"Cake…" Yusuke said stretching out.

"Yes, it would be for the best we retire for now." Kurama said in a tone that proved he still needed a bit more rest. SO they did retire for the night.

It was bright and early in the morning when the team had begun to awaken… Kuwabara and Yusuke left their room just after Hiei and Kurama. Breakfast had already arrived and Kohaku was standing on the rail of the balcony letting the sun shine down on his hooded self. No one said much of anything just watching that Kohaku guy waiting to see if he'd fall off the edge. Kohaku finally sighed before leaning forward allowing his body to fall. Immediately Yusuke and Kuwabara ran to the balcony to see if he's alright.

"Let him go, if he wants to die." Hiei said.

"He can't be real." Kuwabara said suddenly. "He landed on his feet."

"Like those kittens you love so much?" Yusuke asked making Kuwabara steam up in no time. "Let's go the tournament's about to begin. I want to see the first team we have to take out. Once they made it to the stadium Kohaku was standing at the very top of the stadium looking downward. The rest of his teammates lined up next to him two on each side. Kurama and Hiei to his left Yusuke and Kuwabara to his right… The two teams in the ring now was team Rakuyokai now made up of Rinku, Touya, Jin, Cho, and some new demon, and Team Element… The five fighters on that team all had the powers of elements… Water, Fire, Air, Earth, and Wood.

"They will be most helpful…" Kohaku said watching the fight with interest seeing how everyone tried matching up against their own element. (I.e. Jin, wind master, against Air master.)

"Helpful?" Kuwabara asked. "Uhh sure, finding out about the competition is helpful."

"You sound smarter when your mouth was shut." Kohaku said.

"What was that?" Kuwabara lifted the skinny male to meet his eye… Kuwabara sent entranced by the gaze as he met with clear indigo eyes. He felt something in his whole body shake and he dropped the new teammate just as the announcement of team Rakuyokai's win. "I missed the whole thing?!?!"

"You what?" Kurama looked at Kuwabara whose face was in shock and awe.

"I missed it! I was yelling at that Kohaku guy and something weird started to happen."

"Where is the runt anyway?" Yusuke asked.

"Aren't you even listening to what I have to say?"

"Not really, you're probably going to tell us something freaky about him, but Koenma had to give him permission to joint he tournament so there's got to be something off about him anyway." Yusuke said.

"Come, We have sometime before it our turn to enter the ring." Kurama said with a deep sigh following. Once he turned around he nearly bumped into Kohaku. "I'm sorry… I didn't… see you."

"It's quite alright." He said before walking off.

"He is just weird." Hiei admitted as the cloaked being walked off. "Hopefully he will be useful."

"He should be…" Botan said once they opened the door to their room once more.

"Hey!!!" Kiara walked out of the bathroom wearing a white bodice and a sheer skirt and her long hair had been pulled up into a bun.

"What are you wearing?"

"Mina was trying to teach me ballet when Botan told me she could take me here to see you guys only twice. Cuz you know who is around. So I cashed in when Mina decided to get all crazy with her moves." She received only blank stares before the attention turned to Kurama who only frowned and walked out of the room bringing an almost hurt look to her face as he muttered something along the line of preparing. As soon as the door nearly closed Kohaku walked in the room stopping in total shock as he spied Kiara before leaving the room completely.

"Well you've seen them, we don't want you to be found out, so let's take you back already Kiara." Botan walked onto the balcony before giving the girl a thumb's up.

"Hai… Good luck!" She said jumping out of the balcony window.

"What's with that window?!?!"
