Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction / Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ The Mistress ❯ Born a legend... ( Chapter 7 )
Yuske was busy complaining to himself while changing his clothes in the boy's locker room. For the first time in a long time he was showing up to gym class, only because he wanted to make Keiko happy. Besides the teacher had been teaching some martial arts for a while and he wanted to see how far the amateurs are so he can laugh and make fun of them all. He walked out into the gym and the teacher nearly had a heart attack when she saw him, but soon just gathered the class and ignored the fact that Yuske stayed off to the corner of the room.
"It seems you wish to not participate either." The tranquility of his voice rang out. Yuske sent the crimson haired one a glance.
"Done being moody, already??" He asked not getting a response, mostly because the group got into a circle and the teacher began to set up a tournament type of thing going on. The groups then broke up into three small sects to make the tournament a shorter thing.
"Urameshi, you couldn't have picked a better time to show up." Kuwabara said. "We need referees for that group over there."
"I didn't come to watch amateurs slap each other like two kids over a toy."
"So now I'm a kid fighting over a toy??" The voice of Lita Kino rang out. "I'm pretty sure I can kick your can any day, Urameshi."
"You wish." Yuske shook his head and made his way over to a group of girls in a circle. Amongst that group were Minako Aino, Lita Kino, Ami Mizuno, Hiana Tsukino, Serena Tsukino, and Keiko Yukimora, along with several other students.
"We here are the best in the class." Ami said.
"Yeah and we're trying to figure out how the brains and the quiet new girl managed to get here." Serena sighed.
"You mean you haven't seen Hiana fight?!?!" Mina asked.
"Yeah, I've seen her fight…. In fact we actually fought… she kicked my butt." Serena sighed.
"But that's nothing to be proud of I mean you trip every five feet." Hiana said gently before giving them all a sweet smile. It was then it dawned on both Yuske and Kuwabara that the girl was actually quite cute. "I withdraw form the tournament." She concluded.
"What?? Why??" Lita asked as her hopes of finding a great contender were squashed.
"It wouldn't be fair to the kids here. My entire essence has revolved around fighting. I'd hate to say it but I can actually kill with just my fingernails if I had the intention." She said slowly and quietly creeping out most of the group. "Lucky for you all I like you!!" She gave them a smile that looked kind and innocent but added to the creepy feeling she gave them all. She stood up ignoring the stare the two boys were giving her. Partly out of shock of the perfection her physical appearance held and partly out of what she just said.
"Where are you going??" Serena asked before she walked away.
"To think… want to come? You'll have some sleeping time." She said.
"Uhmmm, okay." Serena stood and the two girls walked away.
"Your friends do not know I am one the one who attacked you all?"
"No, I just told them about you growing up with a man who pretty much abused you."
"I see…" She said walking out of the gym and to the back stairwell where no one goes. "Listen, Serena, I have to tell someone before it drives me insane but… Rando is out and not only is he after me but he's after the moon princess as well."
"What?!?!?"
"Urameshi, I don't know if it's important or not but that Hiana girl is creepy."
"I'll take that as a stupid question."
"No, really I mean maybe three weeks ago I ran into her. I knocked her over and being the charming gentleman I am, I helped her up but got the weirdest feeling from her. It was like my hand was on fire and she had the chills." He said and Yuske stopped walking.
"Why didn't you mention this before?"
"I guess it slipped my mind 'cuz you know I've been searching for that princess girl."
"This makes things interesting." He said watching Serena and Hiana walk away both with looks of worry etched on their faces before heading back into the locker room to change out of their gym clothes.
She couldn't sleep. She had just awakened again from one of those horrible nightmares. Ones of him smacking her around, yelling at her, touching her. It was all too much. That and she had the distinct feeling as if someone was after her… more like watching her. She swung her legs over the bed she had been sleeping in and pulled on a pair of really baggy sweat pants and opened the window of her home. The sun was setting… so she had fallen asleep while thinking about the warning she gave Serena. It doesn't matter now, it was a Saturday and she could sleep later if she could.
Slowly she stood on the ledge and jumped down from the second floor of the house. She then started off on a journey. One that she hoped would clear her mind and clarify everything for her. She walked and soon she couldn't differentiate the images she saw in her mind. Everything started to blend together and it was making her sick.
Her entire life was nothing more than a blur…A blur full of darkness, betrayal, despair, and self hatred, loss of innocence, loneliness, and power. That was probably the only plus in the whole thing was all of the powers she had received for the things she had done to lower her standards in morality and self respect. It was all out of fear; if she hadn't been afraid of being dying she would've defied him from the very beginning. The result of that left her very unstable and despite all the wonderful people she has met she still has no reason to be happy through and through.
"It's not fair at all." She stopped walking fully aware that she was away from civilization and was standing in front of a small lake.. She bowed her head allowing tears to fall. "No, it isn't fair." She held herself trying to warm up from the early morning breeze that blew over her bare arms and shoulders. Slowly she started towards the water. "Nothing was ever fair for me… nothing except for Serena. She was the best thing that ever happened to me, next to being set free by the great Yuske Urameshi." By now she was ankle deep into the water and her pants were absorbing the water. She sighed whispering a gentle good-bye before getting ready to continue what she had in mind.
"That isn't a wise decision…" A voice startled her and she turned around to look at the person it came from.
"Yuske…" She looked at him. How could she not have noticed his presence?
"I don't think anyone has ever referred to me as great." He said.
"…" She looked at him. "What are you doing here??"
"My Tall and ugly friend told me about your encounter with him a few weeks ago. Then you say you can actually kill people, I find that pretty suspicious. So who are you really??" He asked and she just let her legs give way to sit in the shallow muddy water and began to cry.
"It's much too difficult to show you… but if you want to really know you have to remove the band from my head." She lowered her head, hesitantly he started towards her.
"You do it."
"I can't… I promised two very important people that I wouldn't do it myself." She said feeling a tug on the bow of the band and the material fell. She slowly lifted her head to look at Yuske whose face went into complete shock. "I made a promise to both the princess and the prince to not remove the band myself and keep myself unarmed." She whispered.
"Well, this is a surprise… Now I'm in a funny predicament! I don't tell the others I found you Koenma and is sure to find out and have a cow, and if I do we'll wind up having to arrest you and Kurama won't like that, neither will Hiei for that matter."
"What??" She looked at Yuske with confusion written all over her face.
"Forget it, I just don't see what the point of killing yourself would fix."
"It would make the nightmares cease." She said before a single red rose landed between the two. Both people looked up and saw a man in a Tuxedo. "Hai… I'm going." She stood and grabbed her bandana from Yuske and disappeared with her amazing speed.
"Yuske, you're abnormally quiet." Botan said.
"Oh, sorry next time I'll make a lot of noise to annoy the hell out of you." He said.
"Botan's right though… you have been abnormally quiet. You aren't sick are you??"
"No…" He said watching the other kids file out of the school.
"Did you find anything out about Hiana??" Kuwabara asked awkwardly. Usually they'd be so easy to talk to cuz Yuske's mood was always more upbeat.
"Hiana??" Kurama looked from his spot in the corner and at the others.
"Yeah, that and something about Kiara…" He stared at Hiana who was sitting on a bench waiting for Shuuichi to show up. He added catching everyone's attention.
"You finally found a lead? That's great!"
"Yeah… it's not hard when the new girl happens to show up shortly after the escaped convict needs to be found…"
"Are you sure??" Hiei asked looking down at the girl the same time everyone else had.
"I saw the Jagan with my own eyes!" Yuske said.
"Damn!" Hiei swore gently. "She still hasn't found it…"
"Hasn't found what??" Keiko asked.
"Her reason to fight…" He said. "She was born a legend… she was meant to be the legendary water apparition."
"What?"
