It had been almost a week since that Saturday Hiana had spent at Kurama's home. She came to school but had been quickly leaving and avoiding Yuske and his circle of friends which was probably for the best anyway because Shuuichi had been rather cold to Yuske when they spoke and it was pissing off the teenager. Not to mention Yuske was already upset because there had been no major leads on his case. As of now they were on the room waiting for the bell to ring so they can go back to class.

"I hope you have come with news on a lead!" Yuske told the woman he had known ever since he died the first time.

"Well actually I do…" Botan said noticing a missing member in the group. "Kurama??"

"You mean the Youkai on his monthly? He left because that girl Hiana wanted to thank him for helping her with something." Yuske said.

"He spends a lot of time with Hiana??"

"Yeah, it's like when she comes around the rest of the world doesn't exist."

'That can't be a good sign...' She thought to herself before starting on the news she had to bring. "You guys remember the Dark tournament?" She asked the group who gave her a look as if to say 'how can we forget?!?!' "Well, Koenma thinks we might be able to draw out all of the enemies at this tournament."

"Care to make things clearer??"

"See this??" She produced a picture. "This is one of the two remaining items of the White Moon Kingdom… One of the humans sponsoring the tournament this time has found it and if one were to have all they need is the princess in their grasp and the world could be theirs…"

"So if Rando and/or Kiara were to go after it they'd have to participate in the tournament to get the item required." Keiko pointed out. "But I thought there were teams of five…"

"There are." Hiei pointed out.

"We'll need a formidable fifth warrior, then." The voice of Kurama came from the other side of the wall soon after another head poked out from behind the wall. The person scrutinized Hiei for a little bit while the gaze was returned toward her before a slow smile crept onto her face.

"I guess I should get going…" She gave Kurama a wink before leaving the roof.

"I don't trust her…" Kuwabara said suddenly but it went unheard as everyone was paying more attention to the glaring contest Kurama and Yuske were having.

"Listen I don't know what your problem is but don't go taking anything out on me." Yuske turned his head in aggravation while Kurama ran his fingers through his red hair with all coldness and anger hidden under his tranquil features.

"If that is how you wish to behave, then there is no need for the hostility and can get back to the problem at hand."

"That doesn't even make any-" Yuske started to yell but looked at Botan putting a finger to her lips and mouthed something that seemed like 'I'll explain later…'

"Anyway the main thing right now is to win the tournament to find the Crystal Staff, and to do that is to find a fifth fighter…" She said and they all sat in silence. "Think about it… you've still got up until the tournament." She said.

"Whatever… Anyone else ready to go??" Yuske finally suggested getting replies from Keiko, Kuwabara and Botan. The three of them left obviously anxious to find out something. Almost immediately Kurama's eyes narrowed at the dark haired boy's head, before sighing and mentally scolding himself.

"What's the deal, Botan?"

"If you'd stop talking so much Yuske I'd tell you to stay away from Hiana whenever possible."

"Why?? Is she the enemy in disguise or something??" Keiko asked wearily.

"No… She just showed up at the wrong time. This time of year all animal spirits go into… heat. Apparently Kurama has taken a liking to Hiana and any male near her is seen as a threat."

"So the guy's horny and doesn't want anyone in on his action…" Yuske said bluntly getting smacked by Keiko.

"As always you're ignorant to the truth behind it. When wolves go into heat they become possessive and will try to kill whatever comes off as a threat proving them as the stronger and deserving of her affections…"

"But I don't want her!!!" Yuske all but yelled.

"But remember, Urameshi, when she first got here she had an interest in you." Kuwabara pointed out.

"Aw gee just when I thought I had turned off the girl magnet charm it's still in effect." Yuske barely dodged a hit coming from Keiko again and the classroom filled with its students again. He sat in the room and took a glance at the one starting all the trouble… Hiana, why was there something about her that seemed familiar to him, as if he could see a resemblance between her and another person.

*~*~*~~*

"I see, so we're entering the tournament for the staff?" Suzaku said as calm as possible.

"Exactly…" Rando explained staring out of the window. "By entering the dark tournament we can all get what we want, you with your revenge against Yuske Urameshi…"

"And you your mistress." Suzaku completed taking a side glance at the three other Saint Beasts. Suzaku received no reply from the man who set them all free. "I see… We will go out and begin the preparations for the tournament." The four Saint Beasts disappeared out of a door leaving Rando to his memories of the passionate nights he had with the girl. Despite the attention she had given him during those times she wouldn't let go of the hatred she felt for him, and that's what made her more desirable… her feistiness. She hated him and was powerless to his every whim and he took advantage of that.

"She must some hell of a woman to make a man of his stature become a puddle of putty just thinking about her." Suzaku's little pet bird pointed out.

"What are you thinking Suzaku??" Seiryu found himself asking.

"Overthrow the demon who released us and take the glory for ourselves??" Suzaku said as his Bird spoke again.

"I get it take the girl and he'll be nothing more than a weakling and kill him. Then kill the girl…"

"Or keep her for myself…"

"Stupid wench you messed up again!" Rando raised his hand to smack a girl no older than thirteen. She held her burning cheek as more hatred ran through her eyes. She said nothing and closed her eyes as yet another blow was delivered to her followed by another, then another. She slumped against the wall of a dusty room and said nothing allowing her body to twitch from the pain she was feeling. She slowly peeked one of her eyes open to look at him, hoping he had gone away but he hadn't. He was standing in front of her looking at her in wonderment.

"It wasn't my fault the Miko fought back with those stupid charms." She barked back knowing she'd get his again but didn't care at the moment. She looked at the burns that covered his hands, the same hands that reached out and pinned her against the wall banging the back of her head against it. He grabbed her face between his clawed hands and made her look at him. Her eyes looked at the face that was covered in blue lines and she gently shuddered.

"It's always your fault you hear me?!?" He dug his claws into her throat drawing a little bit of blood. She said nothing but looked at him. 'So young, so naïve, and so desirable…' He thought pushing himself on her more adding pressure on her mature body. "You hear me?!?!"

"I want to leave…" Her words were slow and demanding. He laughed but didn't let her go. "I demand to be set free…"

"You leave when a low class fighter manages to defeat me." He promised her; no sooner had he said that both of their bodies began to glow.

"That is an unfair promise." She responded knowing exactly what that glow had been about. "It can never happen…"

"Exactly…" He said. She hacked up a nasty wad of spit and spit in his eye. He smacked her again before doing the unexpected… he roughly pulled her mouth to his own in a kiss.

"No!" She sat up covered in sweat. She glanced around the room and saw that she had been asleep on the floor; she gave a gentle sigh before pulling her knees to her chest and began to cry. She felt something furry rub against her hand. She looked at the cat and held her. "Luna, I'm scared. Scared it'll happen all over again." She whispered t the cat that let out a small 'meow'.
