Chapter Thirteen
couldn't believe his ears. Was this chick actually asking for Nakago to surrender? "What the hell are you doing? Just kick his ass!"
started to charge at Nakago but found himself flying back into the wall. The other girl, Kagome crouched beside him. "You ok? You'll have to forgive her. She likes to do things on her own. Just stay back or she might not be so easy on you next time."
raised her hands before her, pale pink light forming into a ball between her finger tips. Pushing her hands forward, the ball of energy zipped its way toward Nakago, who stood calmly watching. Yusuke threw his arm up as the ball exploded a foot in front of the blonde, sending dust and bits of ceiling flying. Behind him he heard Kagome sniff in annoyance and looked over his shoulder as she drew back her bow.
also turned to look at the raven haired archer. "Kagome?"
on it Ceres," she replied, releasing the bow string with a twang. The arrow turned into the streak of light Yusuke had seen fly by him moments ago and hit Naraku in his other shoulder, dissolving that arm as well.
shit!' Yusuke thought as he watched the two women. They were kicking ass. Ceres had already formed. another ball of her own energy and was hurling it at Nakago. The blonde's eyes widened in surprise when the attack actually hit him. He glared at the woman before him as he clutched his shoulder, the same one Yusuke had hit him in. More voices traveled up the hallway.
dog turd I told you they went this way."

Yasha! Kouga! What are you doing here?" Kagome cried as the two barreled past them all to get in front of them. Ceres glared at their back. They yelped as they were raised in the air and thrown back down the hall the way they had come.
brother!" Yusuke shook his head as his gaze was drawn in yet another direction and saw that in the confusion, which had been almost comical, Mokuba had escaped his captors and was now cringing behind Seto.
cast a soft smile at the boy and then, her hands crackling with energy, returned her attention to her enemies. Naraku was growing tentacles from the places where his arms had once been but Nakago was just glaring silently at them. "Now, will you cease this useless fighting and surrender?"
fight is not over." Nakago replied. Dark smoke filled the hallway and when it cleared, the two were gone. For a few moments they stood, waiting for the next attack but when it did not come they all relaxed.
feet touched the ground, her hair changing to a golden blonde. She looked at them with different eyes. "Did we win?"
moved to her side, putting an arm around her shoulders, "Yes, we did Aya."
a flipping minute, I thought her name was Ceres. Will someone please tell me what the hell is going on around here?" Yusuke cried.
laughed. "Sure Yusuke. We'll explain on the way, ok? Let's go see if we can find where Ceres threw Inu Yasha and Kouga."
was Aya's turn to be confused, "She did what?"
van containing Akari and the other female rescuers had already gone, taking their mistress to saftey. Seto Kaiba offered them the use of his limo but Inu Yasha, Kouga were inisistant that the five of them could squeeze into their SUV. Kagome was true to her word and explained that they were the back up for the men of the household. If something went wrong it would fall to the women to fix it. Yusuke snorted and folded his arms, amused that an entire team of women were the ones the men relied on. Kagome and Aya treated him warmly but Inu Yasha and Kouga refused to speak to him. Not that he could blame them, this whole mess was his fault.
was not long before they arrived at Akari's mansion. When they walked in the door, Tasuki, who had been headed down the hall, turned, eyes narrowing. To his suprise, Yusuke found himself pinned to the wall.

Miaka. Did you see what this bastard let happen to Akari? And here he is not a scratch one on him as if nothing ever happened?" Tasuki snarled, eyes never leaving Yusuke.

And there wasn't a god damned thing I could do about it! Everytime I close my eyes I'll see him with that scapel. Everytime it's quiet I'll hear her scream. Not a scratch on me? It would have been easier if they had beaten the hell out of me."
saw the change in the others eyes. "Oh, Yusuke," Botan's voice pulled him from his rage and he turned to see the perky girl.

stepped off of the plane, making his way with the crowd into the terminal. For some reason his gaze was drawn to a group moving outside to one of the private jets. His eyes narrowed as he realized who that group was. She was walking in their center, the guard grouped closely around her. Akari seemed to sense his presence and turned toward the terminal. He lifted his hand to the glass before him as they eyes locked. A boy he had never seen before, stopped beside her, putting an arm around her waist. She looked up at him as he spoke to her and she continued moving, though her gaze kept returning to him. "So, you just missed her."
said nothing, merely watched her as she boarded the jet. The voice spoke again. "It looks as though she has grown tired of waiting for you and found someone else."
