Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ A Different Kind of Light ❯ The Dilemma ( Chapter 1 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Disclaimer: I’m just a fan of Yu Yu Hakusho - I don’t own it. Yoshihiro Togashi does, ok? This is just fan work.Author’s Note: This is a short chapter, and it’s less detailed than I usually write. Neko and Kaze are OC’s of mine. Though Yusuke and the gang are here for a while, the main story once it’s underway will center on Jin, Touya, Neko and Kaze.
CHAPTER ONE: The Dilemma
“Yusuke…Yusuke…YUSUKE! Are you even paying attention!?” baby-breath yelled. Yusuke yawned.CHAPTER ONE: The Dilemma
“Yeah, yeah. So these girls are on the loose and you want us to bring them in so you can imprison them or add them to the team or blah, blah, blah. I got it, pacifier breath.” Kurama sighed.
“…Good.” Koenma resumed stamping documents that were scattered on his desk.“Koenma, if I may suggest something,” Kurama said. Koenma, Yusuke, Hiei, Kuwabara and Botan glanced at him. “It seems these girls, being what they are, may need appropriate masters in restraining them and, if used for a specified team, maybe training them. Perhaps some of our old friends would be allowed to aid us?”
“Old friends? Such as…?” Koenma inquired. Kurama offered a small, polite smile.
“Jin and Touya, at the very least.” the plant wielder stated. Koenma stopped stamping again, thinking.
“Hmmm…I see the advantages of having masters present. Do you really think you’ll need them?”
“Possibly. The one dubbed Neko may be timid, but ice can be tricky to deal with. I speak that knowing first-hand. And as Jin proved with Yusuke, wind is not something to be taken lightly. Kaze appears to be the guardian in this relationship. She will not be easy to bring down.” Kurama answered quietly. Yusuke scoffed.
“We’ve taken on S-class levels - how much trouble could two girls be? Even if they are second only to Jin and Touya?” the ex-spirit detective pointed out.
“Well, think about Keiko, Urameshi; she’s pretty hard to deal with. And she’s not even a demon.” Kuwabara added.
“Are we sure about that? She’s got a punch to rival Jin’s.” Yusuke muttered, rubbing his cheek where his fiancé had cuffed him earlier.
“Look, Yusuke. Your team isn’t really allowed here. Spirit World needs spies in Demon World. We also need those two girls under some form of control. I think Kurama is right; Jin and Touya would be excellent to have along. Maybe I can even convince them to form a new team for Spirit World. Just get those girls, whatever the cost.” Koenma said, his face contorted as he thought through his new scheme.
“I fail to see the importance of these girls. Yusuke and Kurama kept Jin and Touya in check, and any one of us could eliminate them easily enough.” Hiei argued.
“You just want to get back to Mukuro, shrimp.” Kuwabara complained. Hiei glared but stayed silent.
“That’s a first; Hiei not responding with some witty remark.” Botan thought aloud. Hiei’s glare shifted to her. Botan shrugged.
“Well, Hiei, these girls are dangerous, simple as that. Neko uses ice, Kaze wind. But both have other abilities as well. Neko, like Yukina, can offer healing and produce those same jewels from her tears. Kaze can heal either by taking the life of something else around her or by some sort of ancient ritual. She’s able to give life, revive life and take life, so beware. The only ability they both have is shape-shifting, which makes them hard to locate.
“So, Jin and Touya it is.” stated Yusuke. Everyone nodded, including Hiei.
“Problem.” Yusuke complained. Everyone looked at him.
“Where are Jin and Touya?”
