Chapter 1: A Night to Remember

The cold wind whipped across her face as she felt a strong grip on her shoulder. Sayuri felt his hot breath against her neck as he lowered his hands to her waist. She felt defenseless against him again. She reminded herself that this was her fault for not being strong enough to protect herself and her family. If only she was able to get her life back. A life without him. He left a trail of hot kisses on her neck and worked his way down her throat, feeling every vein run with her blood. The very blood that enticed him. Sayuri stood there, feeling the same feeling she had felt every other night since she had been put into this human home back in Japan. But no humans lived there, not now….only a clan of demons resided in the house. And they had made her live with them, probably to cover up the underground ring of illegal stuff they did. Or maybe it was just for their protection. After all, it does look weird when a bunch of men live with a few adult women unless one has a kid. She just assumed the kid made everything look normal. But this house was no where near “normal”.
Sayuri could feel the demon's hands undoing her buttons to her jeans. She shivered when the hands touched her skin, so pale from lack of sun light. Her body rejected the touch and she felt disgusted. The demon's hands found their way up her shirt, caressing her sides. She didn't respond to any of it….knowing that if she did, she was giving in to them.
Her long black hair framed her face. In the moon light, it looked like it had a deep purple to it, same as the violet of her eyes.
Sayuri looked out the window, and saw a star falling from the sky. She felt warmth in her heart again. She could fell the demon's hands working down her stomach. The rage ate at her chest like acid. Why another night she wondered bitterly. Then it all spilt over her; the rage and grief. She felt disgusted with herself not being strong enough. She whirled around and slapped the demon. The demon tasted the blood in his mouth and growled. Sayuri backed out of the way and tried the bed room door; which she found locked.
"You're going to wish you hadn't done that……" The demon menaced, teeth bearing. He stalked towards Sayuri with death in his eyes. Sayuri banged on the door furiously, as if she could break it down. She fell to the floor on her knees, with a look of fright in her eyes. The demon smirked as his victim fell to him. He laughed lightly as she shed a single tear that fell to ground. The tear dropped to the ground and soaked itself away into the floor.
The demon towered above Sayuri's figure. Sayuri looked away in disgust, which didn't please the demon at all. His hand snapped her face back to his and he held her chin tightly so it wouldn't escape again. He moved in forward, and she tried to move back. His level of patience was wearing off and it showed through. His menacing glares and harsh movements denoted that he was ready to slash her life away should she prove more of a hassle the he was ready to deal with. He roughly moved his lips together with hers; forcing her mouth to open so his tongue could taste how sweet she was. She whimpered and tried to fight back. The demon roughly grabbed her hair and pulled her over to the bed that was in the room. Sayuri tried to fight back…but nothing worked. He over powered her, and ended up straddling her on the bed. She looked at him with such hate in her eyes.
"Don't look at me like that!" The demon said as he slapped her across the face. Her violet eyes turned magenta and changed back. He gazed into her eyes and caught the pain she felt. He drank into it and used it as motive to fill himself up with her. The demon admired her beauty; he gazed at her with longing eyes. He didn't care if he had to take the beautiful girl by force; he wanted her, all of her. Sayuri squirmed under him, and he held on to her wrists tighter. Her saw every feature about her, her sleek body with its perfect curves, her violet eyes that captivated anyone's gaze, and her long raven hair that made her look so weak and frail. After all, it was her alluring body that made him want her over any demon whore. He even killed in the name of her. She was irresistible. The demon noticed that she was starting to bleed from his long nails scratching her. He loosened his grasp slightly, so he wouldn't scare her, but it was just enough for her to get her hands free. She pushed at his built chest and dug her nails into his skin; clawing and wiggling and trying to get away. Her hands pulled at his hair and scratched his face- anything to free her from the situation she was stuck in. The demon caught on and started to kiss her roughly. Sayuri tried to push him off, but he was too heavy for her to move. The demon grabbed her arms and pressed them onto the covers of the bed.
And through out the house a scream pierced the night……

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Mieou High School ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Kurama lazily walked towards the school gate, again awake too early. His kaasan had dropped him off early so he walked through the doors and into the school. Inside the school, all was quiet. Kurama was thankful that no one knew he was going to school early. He moved down the hall to where his first class was. By the door to his first class, he saw a girl with black hair causally talking to his 6ft tall teacher. She maintained the posture of a blank canvas. Right away he noticed all the walls and pretense surrounding her; he could feel it in the air, it was so thick that he thought he could taste it. Kurama hid behind the corner so he could watch the girl and his teacher talk.
`What are you doing? You, Youko Kurama, hiding from a new student? Nonsense.' Kurama thought to himself. However he didn't want to come off as too pretentious.
Kurama gracefully walked over to where the girl and his teacher were speaking. The closer he got to her, the sweeter she smelled and the thicker the air was to breathe without noticing the walls. Her scent was light with lilac and rose. The teacher acknowledged Shuichi's presence with a smile. He backed up a bit to let Shuichi into the conversation.
"Miss Kurowa, this is Mr. Minamino, he is our best student here so I suggest you two make a good start; you two will have your classes together, so it is best to get along." Mr. Watanabe said as he gestured to where the girl stood. Kurama gave a small bow and the girl did so too. Mr. Watanabe stepped inside the classroom leaving behind Kurama and the girl. The girl went to step inside also, had Kurama's hand not stopped her.
"Oh, excuse me. I was hoping that we might get to know each other a bit better. Since we have all the same classes together. You can call me Shuichi." Kurama said in his sweetest Shuichi voice. But it seemed that Youko's nature had come out in it. Of course, Shuichi was excited that there was a new student who could add to the atmosphere, but Youko was excited for obvious other reasons. Kurama took note of the actual hue of the girl's hair. She looked up from staring at her shoes, which she had been for the last couple of minutes. Kurama nearly jumped backwards.
`Her eyes are filled with a lot of pain and questioning. She won't give away everything though, almost like I have to dig inside conversations and memories to find out what every move she makes means...' Kurama thought.
The girl faked a smile and stood quiet for a moment to catch what she might say to this intruding school boy.
"Hello Shuichi, I'm Sayuri Kurowa. I'm pleased to meet you. Excuse me, I have to be at my desk before the bell rings." The girl named Sayuri retorted coldly and emotionlessly. Kurama was a bit startled by the girl's nature in which she talked, but nodded kindly. He reached for the door and opened it for the girl. She walked through the door and sat in front of Kurama. Kurama sat in his seat and stared at Sayuri's beautiful black hair. For some reason Kurama was transfixed.
"Ok class, everyone, please sit." Mr. Watanabe said as he set his brief case down on his desk. Sayuri sat there, eyes glued to the black board that was in front of her. She looked forward, unless they were supposed to look down. She didn't pay attention to her work, she just wrote, or finished the problem. Sayuri didn't care that she was probably going to get them wrong; she just sat there in her own little world, where the hurt didn't hurt so much.
`I have to do this. I have to go to school. I have to pretend that every thing is ok. I have to.' Sayuri thought to herself. She shifted her hair and it flew on to Kurama's desk, covering the edge of his paper. He gently touched it and moved it over to the top of his desk. He didn't want to move the hair.
"Time is up class. Please turn your papers in." Mr. Watanabe mumbled as he yawned. Sayuri collected the papers, as was her job as leader of the row. Occasionally she would bend down to puck up a fallen paper. She graciously bent her knees and grasped the fallen objects. The teacher looked up from his paper work to see Sayuri bend back up. The teacher stared at her as she collected the papers so daintily. His eyes wandered over the girl slowly. Sayuri could feel a gaze burning into her skin, but didn't look. She was afraid of what the gaze was full of.
Kurama watched the teacher as his eyes looked greedily at the new girl. For some reason, Kurama felt that he was in a competition with the teacher; although his teacher wasn't looking at his student legally.
"Thank you class. You are dismissed early. Ms. Kurowa, may I see you after class?" Mr. Watanabe asked Sayuri. She nodded and put the papers on his desk. Kurama gathered his things, but did so slowly, so that when everyone had left, he was still there. The teacher saw this and shooed him out of the classroom so he and Sayuri could have a private "talk", but Kurama knew what was on the teacher's mind. Kurama stayed by the door, just in case the teacher should try to push his limits.
"You wanted to see me Mr. Watanabe?" Sayuri asked while she stood at his side by the desk. Her body was frozen while his too-friendly gaze fell over her. She braced herself for the worst, hoping that someone would help her. Mr. Watanabe lifted himself up from his seat slowly and cautiously. He walked behind Sayuri and placed his hands in her hair, gently stroking her head. Sayuri felt a chill sweep her body as Mr. Watanabe turned her around and placed his hands on her face, pulling his lips on to hers. When they locked together, Sayuri tried to pull back, but the teacher pulled her closer. He pulled her so close she could feel him pressing himself against her roughly. His lips were rough against his and she felt the weight of his hands against her face. Her fists tightened but her arms stayed at her sides. A tear fell down Sayuri's cheek as she tried to pull back, but again, she was too weak.
"Stop resisting!" Mr. Watanabe hissed as he pulled the girl closer to him. He rubbed himself against her. He wanted her to want him. He wanted her to feel the fire that she filled him with. Sayuri whimpered and Mr. Watanabe held on to her, touching her, kissing her. The rage came back and ate at her heart. She felt used by every person she had encountered. Her body and mind screamed for her to fight back, if not against her home life, then at least against her perverted teacher. She could always just transfer schools and start over. She could do something!
"STOP!!" Sayuri finally screamed, not carrying who heard, hoping that someone would interrupt. The teacher slapped her face and kissed her neck roughly and slowly; leaving dark marks along her neck as he pulled away. He pushed her against a desk at an awkward position so that she couldn't kick him. Her eyes closed out of instinct, trying to save herself from more damage. Sayuri tried to move away, but didn't want to get hit again, so she didn't resist, she just let him have his way with her.
“No…please…” She begged her teacher. His hands stopped in place, and she opened her eyes.
Mr. Watanabe fell to floor; eyes blurry. Sayuri stood there, her uniform shirt hanging off to the side to reveal her bra. Her long raven hair was in her face. She looked at who her savior was, and saw someone she didn't expect to see…... Shuichi Minamino.
"I….I…." Sayuri choked back the sobs that welded up. Shuichi had seen everything and was looking at Mr. Watanabe with extreme hate.
`He probably thinks I'm a horrible person…he couldn't ever look at me….' Sayuri thought to herself.
Kurama walked towards where the girl was standing. He felt nothing but disgust for his teacher, who was supposed to teach the right way in life, but instead was twisted and sick. He reached Sayuri who was staring at the floor, her uniform shirt hanging off to the side, slightly revealing her bra. Kurama pulled her shirt up so that it covered her shoulder and so that she looked normal. He noticed a single tear slide down her cheek, and couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Sayuri seemed to be holding back the pain that ate at her heart every time she breathed. She kept in the torture that she had; keeping it deep in her heart where it couldn't ever break free. Her body shook with fear, and quaked like a tornado heading straight for her. Kurama went to dab away the tear that threatened to drop. He noticed that she refused to look at him. Gently he went to touch her cheek to comfort the girl, but Sayuri backed up, almost tripping. She grabbed her bag and ran out of the room, leaving Kurama with the teacher.
Kurama noticed that the teacher was almost fully awake and would quickly realize it was he who had beaten him, so he transformed into Youko to keep his secret. His long silver hair felt good on his shoulders. He never realized how much he envied his alter ego. Youko was handsome, to say the least. His golden eyes flickered with amusement as the teacher stirred. He bent down and picked up the teacher's head, just so that he could grab his mouth to keep him from screaming. The teacher's eyes were full of fear, and that made Youko happier. He almost felt like killing the ningen, just for the fun of it, but the kind Shuichi begged him not to.
"Listen to me human…..you touch that girl again, and I can guarantee that your life will shorter then it is now….." Youko threatened. His mouth moved in little spurts, not slurring any of his words. The fox threatened in a menacingly low voice, concentrating his vice-like grip on the teacher's face. The teacher nodded, scared to death of the creature before him. Youko let go of the human's mouth, and opened a window. He jumped out and disappeared towards Genkai's temple.

Youko Kurama sauntered toward Genkai's back door, pausing mentally to evaluate the situation. Once he reached the door, he snuck in and made his way to the front room where he heard Botan laughing and Kuwabara yelling at Botan. Youko made his way into the room and sat down by Botan and Hiei. Everyone's eyes were on him as he got comfortable and turned back into Shuichi. Kurama shook his head and looked at everyone.
"Hello there." Kurama said lightly, so as not to provoke conversation his way, even though he assumed it was inevitable. Kuwabara's mouth was still wide open and half way to the floor. Never had Youko Kurama just waltzed in the temple and sat down by anyone.
"Whaaaaaaaat!?" Kuwabara asked, surprised and a bit frightened.
"It's a long story….." And Kurama began his story about Sayuri and what he saw.
