Kuronue: I could get used to this...
I coughed again, hacking up a gooey substance from the back of my throat, "You're staying home today, and I don't care what you have to do in school. You have a fever, you've been coughing until you can't speak... I worried about you sweetie..." My mother pulled me from school, telling me to get some rest. I was drained, but I couldn't find the heart to tell her about Kuronue. That I couldn't get any rest, because I was donating all of my energy to revive a dead bat.
I slept, it was all I could do; even raising my arms or trying to eat was hard. He came again in my dreams, "Listen, kiddo... I'm sorry; I mean you need your energy right? So I'm going to stop draining you until you get better."
It took longer for me to process what he said in my mind then when he told me he was leeching energy in the first place... But being sick is a good handicap. "You're going to stop until I get better? But you need the energy!" I was probably insane from lack of true sleep, but I cared more about his revival than I did about my own body...
"Don't argue. If I drain you now you'll die, and you're the kindest host I've had." I blinked speechlessly, but before I could regain my wits he kept speaking, "You are the only one who actually said 'sure you can drain me' and I don't want you to die. It'll take another century before I find anyone this willing again; I want you to sit down, shut up, and get better. Got it?" I nodded, mouth hanging open... In a way he was telling me he cared about my existence, in a way he was being a selfish jerk who cared about me for my life's energy... I liked the first way better.

He led me to a dream, a nicer one then just speaking with him. It was a memory for him though, he was sitting with his friend Youko. They were both at a campfire, and Youko was trying to get him to do something...
"It's just a dance Kuro, no one is around." I had heard much about how he could be cruel and calculating...But now he was just goofing off, like a teenaged boy looking for some fun.
"I'm not dancing, you can't make me!" Kuronue pouted at his friend, then looked at me, "Make her dance with you, she's better at it."
I blinked, "Me? Dance with Youko?" if the shock didn't paralyze my mind I might have fainted from it.
"Fine." the fox smirked and took both my hands, Kuronue led us with music from a pan flute. "You really are good at this..." Youko murmured to me, even though the dance was faster then my body would normally let me go...I was keeping up with the greatest thief in the Makai.
"Thank you, you aren't bad yourself." he laughed, and this kept up until I woke a few hours later, thanking Kuronue for the dream...
*~*~*
I had gotten used to the fatigue that came with being Kuro's donor, it had been a month since I had gotten sick as well. I still shared Kuronue's memories though; it was fun to be a thief like them, to run with the famous thieving duo of Youko and Kuronue... To dance under the stars around the glow of the still burning embers was almost magical; Kuronue didn't dance with me for a while, not until a week after my illness. But when he did, it was wonderful; I felt like the earth wasn't even beneath my feet... And it wasn't; Kuronue had lifted me from the ground and flew with me to the night sky, smirking as Youko called him a showoff and as my eyes grew wide with excitement and fear.
That was about three weeks ago. Now I was beginning to wake up, and I felt something heavy resting on my hips... I opened my eyes to see Kuronue sitting on me; he was smirking, I was ready to scream. Just as with our first meeting, he cut me off with a kiss; I was getting used to that, but the shock that it was real floored me. "Ku-Kuronue?!" I asked when he let me speak and breathe again.
"In the flesh, sweetheart." then he head a semi-transparent hand up, "Well, sort of... But I am here, and this is costing me energy to stay out." I looked at him with confusion until, "Lay back and look to the side." I did as I was told; first I felt him lick up and down my neck until his tongue reached my vein... First he stopped, then a sharp pain as his fangs sank into my neck... I would have screamed out loud if he wasn't stopping me by using a free hand to shove a corner of my blanket in my mouth to muffle me.
He stopped moments later, I felt more drained then before. "You're too pale, I drank too much..." I gasped for breath clinging to him, "You're cold too... I'm sorry kiddo, it's my first feed in centuries." I paused for a moment to think, lack of blood to my brain was really killing that process; then it came, he was a vampire bat. He was a bat that lived off the blood of other beings... "Your blood is more live giving then your energy, I'll get my body back faster if I take blood from you at least three times a week..." He cut out there.
I gasped for breath even more, willing my vocal cords to work... "M-make I-it f-four." I told him, before he shushed me...
"Are you sure... Well then, have it your way." he went back to the pendant, and I thought about what I had said... My blood was no longer mine now, and I was committing suicide to help him live again. one life for another, I was now his property.
