Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Angered Fox Within Me Part One: Blissful Ignorance ❯ The Choice ( Prologue )
A/N- Okay so in the poll it seemed that Unwanted Prophecy would win, but I tallied those answers and the answers of my friends and in the end Angered Fox Within Me, won the poll. I hope you like it!
Disclaimer- I own nothing accept Alana and the twist I add in the second part of this story is based on the series but slightly different, that's all I'll say about that.
Warning- Rated NC-17 for sex, and a rape scene later. (I don't know how I managed to get through the rape scene in Love and Hardships but I did and will hopefully make it through this one, but that's not 'till much later in the story, however it will be in the first half of the story so don't worry)
Summary for Story- Kurama makes a decision that affects everyone's memories. He doesn't know Hiei (who goes to ningen school) and meets a transfer from Ireland. (I don't know why I like them meeting foreign girls but I do) They become friends and soon more but time after time they are pulled apart. Cliffhanger at end to be answered in part two.
Summary for Prologue- Kurama's strange invitation to Rema's leaves the rest of his life hanging in the balance.
Kurama smiled. "Is there a reason I should decline?"
Rema smirked, then frowned. "If you accept..."
What happens if Kurama accepts?
Prologue
The Choice
Kurama sighed as he looked at the letter. It was from a powerful sorceress, called Rema. She was well known for restoring demons to their bodies even if it seemed impossible, even if the bodies were so badly damaged no amount of healing could restore them. Earthly and demonic bounds, did not apply to Rema. Of course, Rema wouldn't restore every demon, she had to deem them worthy. If Kurama got a letter from her, which he did, then that must mean she thinks he's worthy of being restored permanently to he demonic form.
He checked the address once more the day after he received his letter. It appeared to be correct. He glanced up at the house before him, surprised by it's run down state. However, he walked in without hesitation. Rema welcomed him and ushered him to a seat. She said, "I won't beat around the bush Kurama. I want to restore you to your youkai form, permanently. You will be Youko once more, assuming you accept my offer..."
Kurama smiled. "Is there a reason I should decline?"
Rema smirked, then frowned. "If you accept my offer your ningen body will die in this realm and you will never be allowed back."
It was Kurama's turn to frown. He very much liked the idea of being in the Makai again but it would hurt Shiori so. To lose a husband, then a son, he didn't know how she would find the strength to keep living herself. Rema read his face and continued. "Of course if you decline, your demon self will be angry and will most likely hate you for your decision. Also, refusing would erase all memories that anyone may have that you are a demon. Only you will remember that you're a demon. So you see, this will change your life dramatically no matter what your choice ends up being."
Kurama was confused now. "Why do they have to forget?"
"This is the main reason I don't offer this to many people Kurama. If you don't do this, your demonic counterpart will be angry. People that you know will only trigger more anger. You may eventually lose control and he will overtake your form, set on hurting all you love and care for."
Kurama's frown deepened. "I see. You said I would remember being a demon. Will I remember my friends?"
"No," Rema said, shaking her head. You will not remember them unless you go through with the restoration."
Kurama sighed. He had been put in a difficult position. To either hurt Shiori knowingly by leaving, or stand the risk of killing her because he remains. He finally came to a conclusion. He could not let Shiori go through all the pain of losing him, not after she had been such a kind and understanding mother. He sighed. "I am afraid I must decline your offer Rema."
She smiled. "I had guessed that after all of your questions Kurama. Oh, well. I hope you enjoy life."
Kurama was swallowed in a red light and felt thoughts trickling from his mind. If one were to now mention the names Hiei, Kuwabara, or Yusuke, he would not register anything at all. He still remembered Rema, and his choice. He also remembered that he was the legendary thief, Kurama. His insides knotted and a voice screamed in his head, "And now you're stuck here baka!" Kurama winces. Youko was, as Rema predicted, pissed off. However Kurama didn't care, this was for Shiori after all. He could never hurt her, no matter what the cost. He went home and fell asleep, unsure of what the next day would bring.
