I don’t own it, still, very tragic I know. If I did own it I would be the happiest person in the world.
I apologize for my lack of updating abilities on this story. School and role-plays are eating me alive and I simply haven’t had the time or thought motivation for this story. I’m sorry I haven’t been updating a lot, but here’s another attempt.

After such a strange outburst in the bathroom Yusuke had expected Hiei to want to go back to sleep. To shove him off and tell him to leave him alone. After all, Hiei didn’t like being seen when he was upset and Yusuke had gone so far as to see him cry. Hiei wasn’t suppose to cry, at least that’s what everyone thought. It just wasn’t something that he did, he was too tough for something like that. But Yusuke had seen him crying in the shower and calmed him down slowly from that. The shorter teenager was now up and back in the room, wrapping up his own wrists despite the slight complication that came with it.
Both boys had to change into a different set of clothes as Hiei had taken a shower and Yusuke had gotten soaked from the burning water. Hiei sat comfortably in a pair of blue jeans, not his typically tight ones though. Upon trying to get those on he realized even more vividly how sore his body was, apparently the steaming water of his shower only making it that much more tender. Instead his blue jeans were looser and comfortable, slightly baggy around his ankles so they dragged on the floor when he walked in his bare feet. The shirt he wore was hidden mostly by a hoodie that hung lazily and warm around his shoulders. The undershirt was a nice blue color that wasn’t that hard to find on Hiei and the hoodie was one of Yusuke’s so it was bigger on Hiei than normal. The sleeves were baggy around his smaller arms and they were long enough that Hiei was able to lightly hold them in his hands when he wanted to. It had a zipper in the front that was three fourths of the way up and the lowest hem hung passed Hiei’s hips, hiding the waistline of his jeans.
Yusuke hadn’t even known he was looking at Hiei so closely while the other sat on the bed, a determined look on his face as he carefully wrapped his aching wrists. His hair was still damp and his bangs hung in his off color eyes as he seemed to be glaring at the bandages as he worked. The only way the brown eyed teenager had found out he was staring was when Hiei looked back up at him and blinked, “Forgotten how to put a shirt on Yusuke?”
“Huh?” Yusuke asked as he snapped from his little daydreaming world. Hiei gestured with his head, as his hands were busy, at the shirt Yusuke had been holding, about to put it on. Yusuke followed the direction Hiei nodded then shook his head, “Oh, yeah.”
Hiei rolled his eyes as he turned back to his bandage yet watched Yusuke out of the corner of his eye. Yusuke, like Kurama and Kuwabara, was taller than himself but only Kuwabara was the one to comment on it, and he hadn’t lately. The chocolate eyed teenager had slipped into a change of form fitting yet still comfortable faded blue jeans. The shirt that he seemed to have forgotten how to use was a simple white tee that was loose around his fit upper torso. He tucked the ends of it into his pants which made some of the material bunch around the waist line which hugged so well the waist above his hips. The teen wasn’t wearing socks either and his hair was only damp from sitting in the shower with Hiei but it hung messily down in front of his hard brown eyes. Hiei blinked his still dulled eyes as he watched Yusuke turn to pick up his soaked clothes.
He shook his head and forced himself to look back at his wrappings the second he realized he was looking at the other male’s butt. That was defiantly not normal, since when did he check out Yusuke? Though…he couldn’t help but notice it wasn’t like Yusuke wasn’t worth checking out. That was hardly the case. Hiei shook his head a bit but didn’t realize how horribly he was fumbling until Yusuke was kneeling in front of him and taking care of the wrappings. When he realized there was another set of hands there wrapping his wrist he pulled his hand back and looked up to see Yusuke focusing just as intently as he had been moments before.
“Wrapping your own wrist isn’t exactly easy,” Yusuke said, as though trying to tell Hiei it was fine that he needed help before the black haired teenager could even muster a reply. Red eyes averted off to the side of the bed and down to the floor and Hiei didn’t bother with a response.
Minutes later when Yusuke had tied a firm knot in the wrappings and stood up to head out [Hiei had already managed to wrap his other wrist just fine] Hiei spoke up, “Let’s go out.”
Yusuke stopped in the doorway and turned to look around at Hiei, raising a confused eyebrow. Did Hiei just say he wanted to go out? He was sure that he would simply want to go back to sleep or be left alone. But he just said he wanted to go out, as in leave the house, as in the fresh air! Finally he noticed the look Hiei was giving him, “Out?”
Hiei stopped glaring and stood up to walk over to his duffle back and find a pair of socks to wear, Yusuke caught him wince despite how much he fought to hide it, “To get something to eat. Or the arcade. Or a movie or something…I’m sick of just staying in bed all day.”
“Well yeah, but are you sure your body can handle going out yet?” he asked as he moved back into the room to find his own pair of socks despite his question. He really had no opposition to going out, he’d wanted to get Hiei out of the house for a while now. It had to have been better than just lying in bed day in and our feeling your body ache and knowing your completely useless in most terms. Getting out of the house and back into the swing of things would help him more than any amount of rest.
“My body can handle what I tell it to handle,” Hiei said as he sat on the bed and pulled on the white socks. Once his socks were on he reached up to shake out his black hair and dry it off faster, already it was beginning the process of standing back in it’s original form. Yusuke followed the other out of the room until both found their shoes and pulled them on.
“What about Kurama and Kuwabara?” Yusuke asked as he laced up his right shoe.
“No,” Hiei said, rather quickly so that Yusuke looked up at him in a bit of shock at the answer and the rate it came at, “Just you. I don’t want to see Kurama and the idiot yet.”
Yusuke nodded but couldn’t help but feel a little bit strange at that. It wasn’t that he and Hiei hadn’t gone out with just the two of them before it was just that when they did that it was usually because the other two were busy. But neither Kurama nor Kuwabara was busy today and Hiei still said he didn’t want them coming along. For some reason this felt oddly like a strange way of phrasing a date or something. He looked at Hiei for a few good minutes as the other was lacing his shoe.
He couldn’t honestly deny that Hiei was attractive, it explained why he was looking so curiously in the bedroom. There was nothing he could honestly find imperfect about the other, except for those scars from Yoma. But in some way even those suited him, like some kind of tough street kid. That was what Hiei was after all, a street punk, so the scars and injuries suited him as much as Yusuke hated seeing Hiei in that kind of pain. And the other boy had a great body, not buff or over exercised but perfect. He had the right amount of muscles in the right places and strong legs and a tight butt. It was understandable how so many girls liked Hiei when the boy actually decided to attend school during the school year. But Hiei hadn’t had a girlfriend in a long time, it was a well known fact he had a thing for Kurama.
‘Then again, maybe he doesn’t anymore.’ Yusuke thought. After all, he had just said that he didn’t want Kurama or Kuwabara coming along hadn’t he? That had to have meant something. Yusuke couldn’t deny the satisfaction he got in the fact Hiei wanted to spend time with him over Kurama. But was that satisfaction in the way he knew he was still Hiei’s best friend or satisfaction in something more?
“Coming?” Hiei asked and Yusuke once more ended up getting snapped out of his daydream state. He looked up to see that Hiei was already standing with his hand on the door, giving Yusuke the strangest look, “You’ve been zoning out too much. What’s wrong?”
“Huh? Oh…nothing,” Yusuke lied and shook his head as he stood up and headed over to Hiei to head out. The red eyed teenager pulled open the door and headed out into the warm summer air. It couldn’t have been more than about three thirty or so, he could tell without even looking at a clock. It wasn’t hot today but it was a very comfortable warm that warmed Hiei’s tired body more than the sunlight coming through the bedroom window could had. He inhaled deeply though quietly so Yusuke wouldn’t notice as they walked, stretching out his aching body. It hurt for a few minutes but eventually he relaxed and put his hands into the hoodie pockets.
For some reason Hiei just didn’t feel like exposing more of his body then he had to, it made him feel vulnerable. Besides, he was horribly bruised all over and he didn’t feel the need to show that off to anyone, especially not a public of people he didn’t know. He let his shoulders sink a bit as he could feel his head heating up as the sunlight was drawn to his black hair. There were a bunch of people on the street which made Hiei nervous and feel claustrophobic when he and Yusuke got caught in a huge crowd. Though every once in a while Yusuke would put his hand on Hiei’s shoulder to make sure he didn’t lose the other. Or was it because he knew Hiei was afraid he was going to get lost himself? Either way, he appreciated it without words.
“How about something to eat first?” Yusuke said when the crowd thinned out and he took his hand off Hiei’s shoulder to return it to his jean pocket, “Then we can check out movies and times.”
“Sounds fine,” Hiei said and nodded a bit in agreement. It actually sounded better than fine, it sounded like just what he needed. Hopefully something good would be playing, he wanted to be out until late and the arcade could only hold interest for so long. Of course he didn’t doubt that they would be stopping there before the night was through. He also got the feeling that some time before either of them got to bed that Hiei would be able to get a fair amount of sweet snow.
No one even had to ask about where they would go to get something to eat, it was just a little place that was like a crossover between all the fast food places. Pizza, cheeseburgers, shakes, all that kind of stuff and all of them could find something to eat there. That would be the first place that they stopped for the night. During the walk there Yusuke managed to get Hiei to loosen up and act more like his old self. He made sarcastic comments and jabbed fun at Kuwabara. Neither of them brought up the events of the passed few days or what happened in the shower. Tonight was just a night for friends. Best friends.
