The cool crisp air refreshed him greatly as Kurama walked briskly down the street, a briefcase holding his school supplies in on hand as he yawned slightly. Although he was the “perfect” student, it didn't mean that he just simply loves going to school every single weekday. That very morning he practically had to drag himself out of bed for some reason, even though generally he was an early riser and into the shower. His long silky red hair was still slightly mussed and wet as he ran a hand through it casually. Even though inside he was still half asleep, his leafy emerald eyes seemed to be giving off and alert and awake kind of look.
“I hope that Yuusuke and Kuwahara would be able to wake me up…” he said to himself, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, ignoring the several stares he was receiving from girls as they whispered about him. Today he was doing a special extra credit assignment and it was to be a teacher for a day at one of the local high schools and Kurama had to admit, he was pretty lucky to have landed in two of his best friends school and class.
Stopping in front of the school gates, Kurama smiled slightly as he looked at the empty grounds, he had figured that the entire walk from his school to this one would take a bit longer but turns out he still had ten minutes to spare before he has to go in. His emerald eyes scanned the deserted grounds as he sighed and continued walking. Finding Yuusuke's class would take up his entire ten minutes anyways. All the students were inside and class was just about to begin.
As he turned the corner to the administration office, Kurama saw a girl who looked to be Yuusuke's age, maybe younger, standing in front of the doors dressed in a pair of black low cut jeans, a black tank top that bares her midriff along with a pair of black and white tennis shoes. The darkness of her clothing scheme contrasted with her bleached white hair but brings out her amber eyes, even from where he was, Kurama could see the intensity within them and they were what caught his attention.
It was as if he was frozen to the spot when the girl turned and looked at him, her arms folded across her chest and a smirk was seen upon her features. For some reason Kurama felt as if he had seen her from somewhere. But where? “It's probably just someone I've seen before somewhere and forgotten…” he said to himself as a man dressed in a black tuxedo walked out of the administration building. He watched as the two talked before the girl entered the building, the door swinging shut behind her. “Well… I had better not dilly-dally…” he said himself before walking towards the building also.

Yuusuke Urameshi sat dully as his desk doodling absent on a black page of his notebook as his teacher gabs away on some stupid math formula he doesn't even care about. Out of all the subjects in the world, besides English, Math has to be the more boring and dullest school subject ever invented. `What's the point anyways?' thought Yuusuke as he tore a piece of his paper out and looked around cautiously, `There's no point in learning math, it's not like it's going to help me in the real world anyways! And if I am desperate enough, I'll just phone Keiko or Kurama to explain everything to me…' Scribbling a quick note on the paper, Yuusuke folded quickly before tossing it to his best friend Kuwahara. `Keiko's going to kill me for ditching class but if I don't get out I'll die of boredom in here! And I would rather spend my last minutes on Earth in an arcade than in this class!'
Leaning back on his desk Yuusuke yawned as his fierce brown eyes looked to his best friend and smiled when he saw the thumbs up sign, “Good…” he whispered to himself and closed his eyes pondering on what the Pythagoras Theorem has to do with life along with triangles and angles. Besides, all that's really needed is basic Algebra right? Hearing the door open, Yuusuke smirked as he pulled another piece of the paper out and crumpled it into a tiny ball, placed it in his mouth and started chewing, “Alright the new student-teacher from Kurama's school… Might as well hang around and give run this nerd back to where he belongs…”
Before Yuusuke saw who walked in, he took aim with the straw and blew the spitball straight at the person and mentally celebrated with the spitball made contact with its target's head. “Direct Hit!” he whispered to himself as he prepared to make yet another spitball but this time when he took aim, the color from the boy's face was drained when he saw his other best friend standing still as if slightly stunned, “Shit…” he muttered slinking down in his chair, now cursing himself for such a stupid act.
Kurama was slightly stunned as he ignored Yuusuke's childish act, as he casually ran a hand through his hair once again getting rid of the spitball. He was going to personally deal with Yuusuke later. The teacher, who was still diagramming a triangle, looked up from the board to see Kurama and beamed, “Ah! Yes! We were expecting you! The student teacher of the day! Class this is our student-teacher and I want each and every one of you to treat Mr… Oh I'm sorry I didn't get your name.”
“Minamo Shuiichi sir…” replied Kurama in his perfect student voice before turning to face the class, “And it is a pleasure to meet all of you.” When his eyes landed on Yuusuke though, Kurama gave him an `I don't dare to believe you' kind of look before smiling to everyone else again.
“Shuiichi hm? Well it seems as if you are just the person we need. We're expecting a new student soon which is why I'm still here and I think you can handle out two class troublemakers…” The teacher glared at Yuusuke and Kuwahara as he said this and the two just smiled and tried to put on the best `I'm an Angel' look that they can muster.
“Yes… I think I can exercise some control into them…” At that Kurama couldn't help but smirk.
Clearing his throat out, the teacher continued smiling as he nodded to the empty seat next to Yuusuke, “You may sit next to Urameshi there until the new student arrives and you may begin teaching…” he said before resuming his lecture.
Out of respect, Kurama bowed at the teacher before walking over to the seat he was directed too and sat down, “Thank you Yuusuke for such a lovely welcoming gift…” he whispered as he looked up to see Kuwahara trying hard not to laugh out loud at Yuusuke's predicament.
“I'm sorry Kurama! Who could have guessed that you're the student teacher?” retorted a very red Yuusuketrying his best to defend himself. “Ok, Ok how about this, I don't bug you about homework tonight and every night for the rest of this week for that alright? But please don't kill me…”
Kurama couldn't help but chuckle at his friends' reaction to the whole spitball and felt that he was obliged to poke some fun at the spirit detective, “Don't worry, I won't kill you… I'll leave that to Keiko…” The loud and audible groan from the younger teen made Kurama smirk as the entire class turned and glared at Yuusuke before a snort from Kuwahara grabbed their attention instead.
There was a noisy “Shush!” from somewhere amongst the students as the demon fox shook his head that little smirk still lingering in his eyes as he closed them, resting lightly as he heard Yuusuke curse himself over and over and over again, “Please… ANYTHING but telling Keiko! We have a date after school and I don't want her up my ass about goofing off in class all throughout the movie!”
That Kurama couldn't help but take as another cue to poke some more fun at Yuusuke, “Yes, you don't want her up your ass, you want to be in hers…” The shocked look on Yuusuke's face was a tell-all for what he was thinking and Kurama just chuckled, his eyes still closed.
“Of all people Kurama… I would never have expected that coming from you…”
“I know… But I should have expected something as childish as a spitball coming from you…” Opening his eyes, Kurama arched an eyebrow to see the teacher speaking quietly to the same man he saw just merely a few seconds before, “New student procedures?” he whispered to Yuusuke who was half bored and had gone back to doodling.
“I dunno… but if he's the new student, I'm transferring…”
“Isn't he a bit old to be in high school Yuusuke?” hissed Kurama, a bit agitated by his friend, unsure if the younger boy was making a joke or not. Knowing Yuusuke, he thought it's preferable to assume the second choice of the two options. Right before Yuusuke could say anything else, the man in the tuxedo stepped aside and the same teenage girl that Kurama had seen that morning entered the room, a bored and annoyed expression on her face that could match Yuusuke's and was giving off a clearly defined, “I'm here because I have to and don't talk to me” kind of aura. And if none of the students could sense the aura, they can physically see it with their eyes. She was still wearing the same clothing she had on when Kurama saw her, only difference was that up close Kurama saw that her shirt has a large white barcode on it with the words `Don't Label Me' on it, and that she had on two leather belt wrist cuffs on along with a matching dog collar around her neck and a thin silver necklace with a sort of spherical pendant around her neck, “I swear… I've seen her from somewhere… but where?”
Although that was meant for himself Yuusuke answered his eyes on the girl, “Maybe she's some stranger you saw somewhere… Gods she's pretty…”
Rolling his eyes, Kurama held back the urge to whack his friend across the head but resorted to another verbal jab, “Don't you already have a girl friend Yuusuke?” he asked, his emerald eyes never leaving the girl as she leaned against the teacher's desk, arms folded and blowing a bubble gum bubble and watching it pop.
“Yea… but that doesn't mean that I don't think that she's pretty…”
“I'm adding that on the list of what to tell Keiko…” Hearing his name being called, Kurama got up, picking up his briefcase also and walked to the front of the room.
Once there, Kurama kept his gaze on the new girl who was now being deeply absorbed in her clean cut nails as if they were the most fascinating things in the world, another bubble being blown. “Uhm… Yes… Shuiichi, this is Julin, the new student I was speaking about earlier… Since she transferred in from America today I need to you to help get her situated. Now I've explained to her that you are a student teacher and that you are only here for one day, so you should haven o problem with that. Her seat is right over there next to Eichi and I trust that you can get her settled and welcomed into the class because now I am really late for my meeting…”
“That'll be all right sensei. I can manage one day as the teacher, and I assure you that I can control our two troublemakers no problem…” Kurama just grinned as the teacher sighed in relief before turning around and grabbed his stuff and exited the room.
“Thank you Shuiichi…” Was all Kurama heard before the door was closed briskly.
Turning to the front of the classroom, Kurama loosened his collar a bit, feeling a bit nervous now that he was left alone in a class full of students and two, maybe even three with the new girl, delinquent, “All right, so first things first we need to get you situated, Julin...”
The girl, Julin, merely turned to Kurama as if just noticing him and shrugged, “Fine… get me situated then “Sensei”” She said the last word with a mocking air as if she was a master of using that tone of voice to make fun of others.
“First off though, gum is not allowed in class…”
At that remark the girl just blew a bubble at Kurama before grabbing her backpack and walked over to the desk she was assigned, which just happened to be three seats from Kuwahara, “Bite me.” Was all she said before sitting down and continued chewing.
A frown creased Kurama's features as he walked over to the younger girl, already frustrated with her, “Please go spit that out now…” There was an obvious undercurrent of anger in his calm voice that he was completely unaware of just how silent that class is. The girl just looked at Kurama, blowing another bubble until it popped.
“Fine…” she stated simply a smile that can rival the devils' curled at her lips as she got up and walked past Kurama, purposely bumping into his shoulder as she walked. She barely even walked three steps when she whirled around and stuck the gum right into Kurama's hair, “Done.” Was the simple statement as she got back into her seat and pulled out her headphones as if nothing had happened.
For once Kurama could feel the anger rising inside of him but kept everything in check as he heard several gasps from the students around him. He can handle Yuusuke and Kuwahara no problem but this… this demon of a girl! She was really getting on his nerves and it has hardly even ten minutes into class yet, “Detention…” he stated simply before turning around and walked to the teacher's desk.
“Go ahead! See if I'll be there…”
Kurama looked up from the desk and glanced to Yuusuke and Kuwahara who were both looking as if they were ready to give the girl a piece of their mind but when Kurama's eyes fell on them, they settled down. There was always lunch to beat her up anyways. After signing off the piece of paper, Kurama walked over to Julin and gave her the slip of paper, “I will see you after school here…”
Taking the paper, Julin smirked as she tore that paper into equal size shreds and rolled on out before tossing it into her mouth, “Thanks for the substitute… That piece of gun was my last one… And You can't do anything about it because paper, is technically not gum…”
Right when Kurama was about to say something when the sound of two chairs crashingto the ground could be heard as the demon fox looked up to see Yuusuke and Kuwahara up and out of their seats, “Alright! We kept quiet when you stuck the gum in his hair but listen girl! Just because you're new doesn't mean that we're going to go easy on you for giving our friend a hard time!”
“That's right! I Kazuma Kuwahara will not let you get away with this!”
Julin just arched an eyebrow as if contemplating just how stupid those two might be and if they were worth her time arguing with as Kurama closed his eyes to his two friend's outbursts. “Alright… So… Carrot-top and macho man… you two this sissy's lovers or something?”
At that one statement both Yuusuke and Kuwahara snapped and both were making their way towards the girl, “Take that back!” shouted Yuusuke as he jumped from his desk to across the room ready to kick the girl.
Doing a neat flip from her seat, Julin landed on top of the desk behind her as the poor unfortunate person scrambled to get out of the way. “Oh, I get it… so you are!” taunted the girl when Yuusuke accidentally broken the desk into pieces from the attack. Right when she said that, Julin felt someone grab her from behind, trapping her by the arms, “Nice move carrot-top but not very smart!” Kicking back on his right shin, Julin wrenched herself free before she turned around; spin kicking Kuwahara across the face.
A couple of students screamed they scrambled to get out of the way as Kuwahara landed hard on the ground, “All right settle down!” shouted Kurama ready to step in when Kuwahara was kicked. He knew that shouting commands was no help as he sighedm stepping aside quickly when Yuusuke went in for another attack on Julin.
“How dare you hurt my friend!” shouted the Spirit Detective as he ran towards her.
Doing another neat flip from the top of the desk Julin landed on the ground behind Yuuske before punching hard on the back, “And here I thought that I found a real challenge…” muttered the younger girl as she backed away, tossing her long hair while doing so, the entire class was stunned shocked in the back a few of them missing to find the principal.
Julin had completely forgotten that Kurama was behind her until he grabbed her by the upper part of her arm, “You are a handful…” he hissed at her before looking at his two friends getting up, “Are you two alright?” he asked concerned by the two of them.
“We're fine…” replied Yuusuke as he looked to Kuwahara, “I can't beliee that a girl can kick you like that…”
“Let go of me!” shouted Julin pulling away from Kurama, “Listen. No one tells me what to do got that? And I mean no one!” His grip on Julin's arm was iron and when she realized that, Julin scowled before she tried to punch him hard in the face, “I said let go!”
Sensing the attack, Kurama placed ah and up and caught her fist before pulling it to the side, “You want to fight… Good… but when you do fight try having a purpose for fighting and I do not mean a purpose as in “Just because I feel like it…””
The younger girl seemed to have frozen slightly when Kurama caught her attack and slowly dropped her hand to her side, “You're not worth the effort…” she muttered before turning around, grabbing her backpack and stalked out of the room without another word.
Kurama watched as the girl left and sighed. He was relieved that the chaos was over and done with but the fact that now he has to get everything under control again was scaring him, “Alright class, settle down…” he said keeping a calm cool tone as he looked to the students, “Please take your seats again and we will begin out lesson…” He was going to have to deal with the gum in his hair later and hopefully he wasn't going to have to cut it short again…
Although hesitantly at first, Kurama's voice seemed to have soothed the students a bit as they walked back to their seats, the boy who's seat was smashed by Yuusuke took Julin's seat, and Kurama sighed as he pulled out the things needed to begin the lesson. `This is going to be a long day…' he thought. For some reason, he knew that this was not the last time he was going to see that girl Julin.
