A/N: I know you've all been waiting for the next chapter of Cruel and Unusual Punishment, so here it is! The story is almost finished, so I really need to know if you guys want a sequel. It wouldn't be him babysitting her again, but rather, a meet-up thing 9 years after, Maru and Emri have become spirit detectives themselves, and travel back in time to 2 months after the babysitting incident to get Yusuke, Kurama, Hiei, and some other people??? (from diff., animes) to help them on a special case-type thing. I dunno. Depends on if that's what you, the reviewers want. Now enough of my raving, and on with the chap!

Cruel and unusual punishment.

Ch. (8? 9?). Chaos at the zoo, and no more popcicles for Emri.

Hiei POV

"Let me get this straight," Kasia started, " Emri had a popcicle"

"Yes."

"And now she and Kumaru are loose in the zoo."

"Yes."

"You MORONS!!!! HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY LET THEM ESCAPE! AND YOU!" she shouted looking at Kurama. "WHAT IN THE WORLD MADE YOU THINK IT WAS OKAY TO GIVE HER SUGAR!!!!!! DO YOU TWO HAVE NO BRAINS AT ALL??"

"Oh Uresai no baka" I spat at the girl. "Your constant complaining is giving me a headache, so just shut up and lets go find them." Kasia fell silent, and started trying to give me one of my own death glares. It was pretty good, but she needs work. I caught a glimpse of Kurama mouthing thank you to me over her shoulder.

"Okay," Kasia started, "We need to split up and try to catch them. Our best bet to find Emri will be at either the Wolf cage or somewhere they sell things with sugar. Our best bet with Maru is either the panther cage or Fox cage-"

"Why the fox cage?" I ask, not really wanting to know the answer.

"Are you daft? She's ½ shadow panther and 1/4 fox. She's going to visit the animals that her demon form picks up traits from." I look over at Kurama. He looks genuinely astonished. Maybe he didn't know that little fact of the day.

Kasia looks at the both of us strangely. Dismissing the look on our faces, she staightens and thinks for a moment.

"Okay, here's what we'll do. You two go to the panther cage to look for Maru, I'll go look for Emri at the Wolf cage, and Kahnna can go check at the fox cage, the zoo venders, and get a good overhead view over everywhere else."

"Who's Kahnna?" Kurama asked.

"You're about to find out." she said, then stuck her hand in the air and let out an ice sculpture in the shape of a dragon, which exploded in a ball of fire a second later(A/N that's something I'd like to see, an ice sculpture exploding in fire before it melts, but for the sake of the story, we're gonna say it works.), before a girl with red dragon wings soared through the air and landed next to Kasia.

"Dimwits, this is Kahnna, a fire dragon." The girl smiled, showing her fangs. I looked her over. Red spiked tail, small yellow horns, clawed nails, amber eyes, dirty blonde hair with red streaks. She had a katana strapped to her waist. She was 5'4, and looked to also be 7 years old. Only 7 years old and already as tall as Kurama. Damn.

"Nice to meet you." Said the girl, holding out her hand. I just stared at it. She looked at me for a minute, then dropped her arm to her side. "So Kas, what's the problem? "

"These two durks gave Emri sugar, then let her and Kumaru loose in the zoo!" The girl named Kahnna looked at us with a mix of pity and humor in her eyes, then turned back to Kas.

"Where do you want me to try to smoke them out?" she asked

"The fox pit and all the snack vendors. An overhead view of the zoo would be nice too. If you find them, send up a couple of fire balls, and take them back here. As for you two." she said, looking at me and Kurama, "Do the same if you find them. And don't give Emri any more popcicles."

Random person near the wolf cage's POV:

A little girl walked over to the wolf cage and started howling. The wolves inside howled in response, and the little started to convulse. No, she wasn't convulsing, she was changing. After 30 seconds, the girl turned into a red wolf with black ears and a black tipped tail.She then charged at the gate keeping the other wolves in, bursting it open and letting the wolves free. She then turned back into a human and jumped onto what appeared to be the pack leader's back. She and the wolves then let out a blood, curdling howl, and they charged into the crowd.

"BWAHAHAHAAAAAA, RUN MY BRETHREN WOLVES, AND WE SHALL WREAK HAVOC UPON THE POPCICLE STAND! BWAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!" The girl shrieked as she and the wolves bounded off to the food court..

Another random person near the panther cage :

A young girl walked over to the panther cage, and hopped the fence closing them in. She walked over the tree where several panthers were resting and started climbing. As she did, she grew little cat ears, her hair turned purple, and grew a big bushy tail. The panthers sniffed her tail, obviously not liking it, seemed to compare it with their own, then picked the girl up by it and sat her on the biggest one's back.The girl then whispered something in the panthers ear, and the panther leaped off the tree and out of the fence, it's companions following suit.

"To the fox cage! " She screamed and pointed, the panthers running in the direction of her finger.

3rd person:

Parents were screaming and tugging their children away from the sight in front of them. Inside the food court sat a girl on a destructed popcicle stand, eating everything she could, while a pack of wolves were devouring everything else. Finishing the last popcicle, the girl looked around, and spotted the cotton candy machine. Squealing, the little girl ran over to it and starting stuffing her face with sugary goodness.

400 yards away, there were yells or terror as a young girl with blonde cat's ears(A/N Just picture Inuyasha ears that are blonde), waist length purple hair, and a purple tail with metallic streaks (A/N Kinda like Shippos, but longer and not as round. Normally points down, but since she's riding a panther it's pointing up, lest she sit on it;) charged through the crowd on a panther followed by foxes, armadillos, giraffes, and more panthers. The little girl was givving out occasional war screeches every 10 seconds, and would stop at a few animal cages every now and them to let more out. She was headed for the rhino cage when a black blur rocketed out and knocked her to the ground.

Hiei POV:

"Get off Get off GET OFF!" Kumaru cried as I pinned her to the ground. She started struggling furiously until Kurama tied her up with vines, which she stared at for a minute, then started to chew on. He then turned to the foxes and they all went back to their cage. All the other animals, with the exception of the panthers had run off.

"Kumaru, tell the panthers to go back to their cages." I said to the 7 year old brat.

"Never!" she cried. "Never never never never!" I was about to use a more `persuasive' method to get her to make them go to their cages, but Kurama stopped me. Following his gaze, I noticed two Zoo security guards playing cards on a table 20 yards away. Leaving Kumaru still tied up in vines, Kurama and I walked over to the 2 guards.

"Speed!" One of the guards yelled triumphantly as he laid down the last of his cards. He then turned to look at Kurama and I.

"Can I help you two gentlemen?" One asked.

"Yes." Kurama started. "Did you happen to know that you have about half your zoo running loose?"

"Yup!"

"Aren't you going to do something about it?" I asked.

"Uh, no, I don't think so." The other said, shuffling th cards, " But you two are welcome to try." I shot them as many death glares as I could, then walked back to Kumaru, and swung her over my shoulder, which caused Kumaru to start screaming.

"Uresai Kumaru." I muttered to the girl, who, suprisingly stopped.. I glanced at her, then headed for the monkey cage.

Kahnna's POV:

As I flew around the zoo, I noticed that the food court was in ruins. Swooping in lower for a better look, I noticed it was crawling with wolves. This is where Emri must be, I thought. I landed with a soft thump next to the remains of what looked like a popcicle stand. Ignoring the watchful eyes of the wolves, I noticed a low munching coming from the cotton candy machine. As I got closer, I noticed to legs sticking out of the cotton candy vat. Pulling on the leg revealed Emri, a girl I knew through kasia. She was covered in pink cotton candy and stick as hell. After a few seconds I realized she had gone into a sugar coma.

"No more popcicles for you." I said, sent up a few fireballs for Kas, then took off.

At the monkey cage:

Hiei POV:

Both of the brats were finally tracked down. Kahnna landed 3 minutes ago with Emri, and it took both Kurama and I to pull her off. Kasia arrived a minute after Kahnna, giving Kurama and I a look that said, `well, you finally did something right today.' I hate that brat.

Kurama and Kahnna are talking animatedly about what to do after Emri wakes up, and decide that she should come home with him.

"Kasia, why don't you go home with Hiei, you can help him with Kumaru." Kurama suggested politely. He recieved death glares from both me and Kasia, while Maru's mood seemed to brighten a bit.

"Then it's settled." Kahnna said happily, obviously oblivious(or good at pretending to be) of the death glares that were immediately pointed in her direction. "I guess we'll see you guys tomorrow." With that, she picked up Emri and they took off for her house.

Kasia and I stared at each other for a moment, then headed for Maru's without a word.
