Dark side of The Moon

Yusuke mumbled something in his sleep, before turning onto his side. "Mmph.. mmermm..." There was a loud crash as Atsuko threw open the door.

Yusuke sat up in a bolt, wondering what the hell was going on. He let out his breath, realizing it was just his alcoholic mother. He raised an eyebrow. 'Wow, she actually seems like she's sober...' Yusuke thought.

Atsuko moved out of the doorway. "Yusuke! Your girlfriend is here!" she chirped. Botan laughed a little before walking past the woman. "Hey Yusuke," said the blue-haired 'grim reaper' in her usual cheerful mood.

"Ugh mom, Botan isn't my girlfriend," said Yusuke annoyed as he stood up.

"Don't worry honey, I'll let you two be alone," said Atsuko, ignoring Yusuke.

"Ahh-Mom-" Yusuke stopped, there was no point in yelling when his mom had already took tail and left. "Probably eager to go to the liquor store," grumbled Yusuke. He then turned to Botan.

Botan let out a chuckle. "Your mom is so sweet!"

Yusuke sighed heavily. "Maybe to you," desperate to get off the subject he asked, "So why are you here anyway?"

"Koenma needs to talk to everyone," said Botan as she shifted her weight from one foot to another.

"Damn..." hissed Yusuke. "We just had a case last month. My back is still bruised. Hasn't he ever heard of work leave?"

"Hey, that's not my problem. I just do what Koenma tells me to do," she said crossing her arms.

"Well let's go," he mumbled, dragging his feet as he walked to the door.

"Aww, Yusuke's giving up? What happened to that arrogant attitude?" laughed Botan.

"I just want to get it over with, got it?" said Yusuke as he looked back at her.

Botan gently smiled and followed after Yusuke.

"Well look who finally showed up," said Kuwabara, looking over to Botan and Yusuke.

"Hello," grumbled Yusuke dully.

The whole team was standing in Koenma's office. Kurama was standing next to Kuwabara. Hiei remained away from the group, leaning up against the wall.

Yusuke went over and stood by his other teammates, while Botan came over to stand by Koenma's desk.

Koenma looked around the room and clapped his hands together. "Now that everyone is here, I'll tell you your brand new mission!" he said being noble. The toddler peered around the room again, expecting to see excitement in their faces.

"Go on Koenma, we're waiting," mumbled Hiei coldly from where he stood.

Koenma let out a heavy sigh. "All right, there's a very big problem. Just last week the dark orb was stolen from the hidden catacombs..."

"The what?" asked Kuwabara confused. Botan gasped and clasped a hand over her mouth.

"Yo Botan, what's the deal?" said Yusuke.

"I'd have to agree," said Kurama. "What is this dark orb?"
Koenma turned to look at Hiei before he spoke. The fire demon was actually listening now. "No demons at all know of it, but one must have. The dark orb is extremely powerful, that's why it was hidden. It has the power to kill thousands...and even destroy the entire spirit world..." Koenma was starting to get nervous.

"Oh great," grumbled Yusuke. "It seems like this case is going to take up a lot of my time."

"Fool!" growled Hiei standing up straight. "This isn't anything to joke about. You haven't face that power..."

Koenma stared at Hiei with wide eyes. "You were-"

"Yes," grumbled Hiei. "I was young the last time a demon got a hold of that damn orb. That demon Matsuyo killed my family and I JUST managed to save Yukina!" Hiei was yelling angrily now.

Yusuke was taken aback, and everyone was silenced. They didn't know what to say...

NOTE: I know this wasn't a very long chapter, but I'm hoping to work on this some more in between school work. I can't say the exact time when there will be an update because I've been very busy lately. I know that most assumptions in this fiction are not true, but after all this is fiction. Dark side of The Moon is just my own thoughts about this subject because I've always wondered about Hiei and Yukina's parents. I also apologize if some characters are off! Thank ya!
