Chapter 14 Stainful Hope

Vera slowly opens her eyes when she hears foot steps slowly approaching the room, she slowly sits up and rubs her eyes. Kuno walks into the room and over to where she sat.

“did you sleep well?” he asks smiling. Vera just stares up at him.

He offers her a hand, she takes it and he helps her to her feet.

“I’m guessing that you are rather hungry, are you not?”

Vera nods.

`Why is he being so nice to me?` She wonders to herself as he leads her out of the room and back into the long hallway again.

`Does he want something from me? Maybe he’s just following orders... or maybe he
wants me for that weird demon thing... I think it was... mating.`

After a few minutes, they arrive at a large room. They walk in and Kuno tells her to wait right there.
In the middle of the room was a huge table, it also was made of this wood that Vera had never seen before. On the surface of the table, was a interesting design of vines, beautiful flowers, and little sparks.
The chairs were also made of that mysterious wood, they had a velvet cushion on the seat, and on the part where you’d put your back.
Candles lit the walls. A huge chandelier hung over the table, with millions of diamonds. She stood there, staring at the chandelier, until Kuno stepped back in.

“Here, let me show you your seat.” he grabs her hand gently and slightly pulls her to the other side of the table. He pulls out a seat that was right next to the very last seat at the very end of the table. She sits down and he pushes in her chair. He then takes a seat next to her.

“Kuno, what time is it?” she asks finally.

“Evening time.” he answers.

Then, a lady walks in, followed by what looked as maids and servants. She sits down at the seat next to Vera which was at the very end of the table.

“Vera, I am Mukuro.” She says staring Vera straight in the eyes. (I’m not that sure what she looks like, all I know is that her hair is red, and she has a patch or... some weird thing on one of her eyes)

Vera stares right into Mukuro’s eyes (I’m going to pretend there’s nothing over her eye). Vera looks away and over at the door to see Trako standing there. HE goes and takes a seat across from Vera. And, he looks at her a smiles quickly then turns to Mukuro.

“I’m done with duty...” he says.

“ very well then, you may eat with us.” Mukuro says snapping her fingers loudly.

Then cooks came in from a small side door and placed food in front of them. There was chicken, one of those pigs with apples in there mouths, peas, carrots, stuffing, peaches, etc. And, best of all, wine. They gave each of them cups (like the ones you’d use for wine... the kewl ones, I have no idea what they’re called), and poured wine into them.

“Well, let us begin, I’m sure that you and Trako both are starving.” she says sipping her wine.

Vera nods and digs in, she didn’t notice she was hungry until she ate the meat off a chicken bone in two whole bites. She heard a slight laugh from Trako when she choked on a small bone.

“Hey That’s not funny ” she says pouting, but in less than 5 seconds she was digging back into her food. Minutes later, Mukuro suggests that she try a red circular object, it was all round except for, supposably, the end of it; the end was rigid.

“Ok...” she slowly grabs it, and put it into her mouth, she chews and swallows it.
At least 20 seconds later, her face starts to turn red.

“....*deep breath* holy... crap... HOT OH MY GOSH IT’S HOT ” She yells out, Trako goes big eyed for the moment then bursts out laughing as she franticly looks around for something to drink.

“*smirk* here, drink this.” he says handing her her cup of wine. She grabs it and drinks it, she sits down dazed.

“Have you ever had wine before?*smirk*” Mukuro asks.

Vera shakes her head slowly. Then she stands up.

“*wozzy like* I think I wanna go to bed now...”

“I’ll take you to your room.” Trako says standing up and ushering her to follow him.

“She happily, but wuzzyly, follows him.

WITH THE OTHERS

“Are we there yet?” Kuwabara complains as they are walking around the mountain to get to the other side (why would they go up a mountain when they could go around?)

“No, shut up.” Yusuke says simply.

“But my feeeetttt huuuurrrrrttttttt ” Kuwabara then complains.

“Shut up Your starting to sound like Vera when she’s trying to annoy the freak’n hell outta me : Yusuke yells at him.

They reach a clearing. Kurama glances at Hiei, he had a desperate look on his face.

“Are you alright Hiei?” he asks.

“Hn.” he answers looking forward.

“I know you’re them most worried out of all of us, even Yusuke.”

“Hn... the onna can be hard headed...” he says glancing at Kurama.

“*smile*”
