Chapter four: Not what I wanted to hear, but well…

Some dark alley downtown…

A demon was pinned into the brick wall. He was terrified and obviously exhausted from a recent fight. Goosebumps went all the way up to his spine when he felt the sharp blade against his neck.

"PLEASE!! PLEASE!! DON'T HURT ME!!" The demon cried pathetically as the eyes of his attacker shined between the darkness. A pair of mischievous teal eyes glowed with cynicism emanating from them.

"You are pissing me off, and I don't like to be pissed off…" His attacker murmured coldly and the blade was pushed deeper into the demon's flesh. "Your friends pissed me off and look how they are now…"

The demon swallowed hard and looked at his partners from the corner of his eye. They were laying in the floor, completely burnt, reduced to ashes…

"I am waiting, I can't come back to my boss with only ashes…" A smirk shinned from the shadows.

"OK! OK! I'LLTALK! THERE'S NO ONE MORE INVOLVED!! YOU JUST KILLED THEM ALL!!"

"Really?!" The shadow seem surprised." ALL THIS SCANDAL FOR SUCH WEAK INSECTS!!" The shadow sighed. "And I thought that…."she shushed when she felt her hands getting wet. "What the…O_oU….oops." Without even noticing when, she had chopped the demon's head off. "This is not good….ñ_ñU"

"Don't worry Yaten, They were criminals, you won't be punished."

"Uh? Oh Hanasaki, its you." The assassin turned her head to meet the kitsune in her human form.

"You are really a workaholic, did you knew that?" Hanasaki smiled sweetly at her friend who just arched a brow to her. "Now I wonder, have you seem your sister around here?"

"No." The shadow said shaking the blood of her hand with a expression in her face that revealed disgust. "She must be somewhere around there. She can take care of herself." Then she finally came out of the shadows, she was Hokuto's image reflected in a mirror, except for the tiny fact that her hair was shinning midnight blue, and her body was clearly more developed that the silver-haired.. She wore a pair of oversized jeans and a white tank top and was holding a kitchen knife in her hand.

"And that is…" Hanasaki asked curiously referring to the kitchen instrument.

"Uh?" Yaten looked at the blade in her hand." Oh! Ah! I GOT THE MESSAGE AND THIS WAS THE FIRST THING I COULD FIND IN HAYABUSA'S HOUSE!!" She laughed nervously and took her free hand to the back of her head.

"Well, It looks like you didn't used it that much…" Hanasaki glanced at the ashes in the floor.

"n_nU They wanted to fight…" She giggled.

Hanasaki smiled amused at Yaten. How could someone be so innocent and sadistic at the same time was a mystery for her. Of course that if you consider her older sister's behavior then…

-BEEP BEEP-

"What is that?" Yaten asked curiously.

"Its my cellphone…" Hanasaki checked the little screen. "Lost call form Setsuna…"

Both girls eyes widened as they felt a cold shock in their napes.

"Did you feel that?" Hanasaki asked and Yaten nodded.

"Oneesan…and the others…"

"Let's go! Try to contact Hokuto using your telepathic link!"

"4 dangerous men against 3 defenseless girls? Does that sound fair to you?" Sora joked trying to avoid the fight, but her talismans were still in her hand ready to be used when needed.

"I REFUSE!!" Kuwabara yelled and all the looks were fixated on him.

"What now Kuwabara?" Yusuke growled annoyed. He was expecting something stupid to roll out of Kazuma's mouth, as it always happened.

"I REFUSE TO FIGHT THREE WOMEN!! KAZUMA KUWABARA IS A REAL MAN AND REAL MEN DON'T FIGHT WOMEN!!"

"Real men don't cry either to try to avoid a fight." Hiei roared and using his speed he appeared from nowhere in front of Sora with his Katana aiming to her chest. Just when he was about to stab her Setsuna's scythe stopped him.

"It sounds fair enough to me." The raven licked her lips and didn't noticed that she had cut her tongue with her fangs, a little blood was dripping from her lips.

"Just what I wanted to hear. DIE!!" Hiei tried with an horizontal attack but she blocked it again. Taking advantage of the situation Sora crawled away from the fight, just to bump into Yusuke and Kurama.

"And where exactly do you think you are going?" Yusuke arched a brow and cracked his fingers. Just what he needed to stop feeling depressed, a good old school ass kicking. Did he cared his opponent was a female? Hell knew he didn't.

"Eh…can't we reach some kind of deal? ñ_ñU" The brunette felt sweat dripping down her head. She had left the safety of her home for this? -Mental note to myself: Never listen to Setsuna again.- She thought.

"KURAMA! URAMESHI! DON'T!" Kuwabara tried to stop them from attacking her, but stopped when he saw Hokuto standing in front of him holding her hammer tightly against her chest. Her chi was screaming to him, she was scared, she didn't wanted to fight…

"Why do you… O_O" Kuwabara babbled as a lighting hit Hokuto hard. His jaw collapsed to the soil when he saw she was intact. Instead she was now looking at him with confident eyes, but something was different now…had she always been his height or was he starting to see things?

"KUWABARA WHAT ARE YOU DOING!! THIS IS NO TIME FOR FLIRTING!"

"SEE YA!" Sora placed a talisman in Kurama's leg so he couldn't move and kicked Yusuke's leg, making him fall. She ran to Hokuto and Kuwabara and between her hands a spiritual rope was beginning to form. "HOKUTO!! DO YOUR THING!!"

Hokuto nodded. She might not understand a single word of that language they were talking but she could still read Sora's chi. She closed her eyes and Kuwabara's eyes widened as she started growing foot after foot.

-The bat and the giant girl…- Kurama said to his insides. "YUSUKE!!" He yelled to the boy who was getting up. "STOP THEM!!"

"HEY REAL MAN!!" Sora took her spiritual rope and launched it to Kuwabara, lacing him as if she were in a rodeo. "I want to see you trying to get outta this one!!" Kuwabara tried to get free but was useless.

"WHAT IS WITH THAT GIRL AND INMOBILIZING PEOPLE!!" Yusuke shoot one of his reiguns, but she did a back flip and avoid it, giving Kuwabara by the way a full view of her underwear. The boy had a serious nosebleed and grinned like idiot.

"Perv…" Sora stuck her tongue at him. "Talking about pervs…SETSUNA!!" Sora raised her head to try to locate Hiei and Sertsuna. While in earth it was all looking like a comedic scene of a martial arts movie, up in the sky things were serious. Although Hiei couldn't fly, he could still jumpr from branch to branch without problem at a speed that was way superior than Setsuna's.

The yasha swung her scythe and in cut slightly Hiei's chest. Then he did the same with his katana and made a wound in Setsuna's arm. She smirked and then licked the liquid off, never taking her eyes off Hiei, she was enjoying this too much, her demon instinct were beginning to take over her.

Using her power to control plants Kurama made a vine grew and take off the talisman of his leg, then ran to Yusuke and then both tried to untie Kuwabara. While they were doing that Hokuto had reached the 20' mark and Sora was sitting in her shoulder, whispering something to her ear.

Hokuto swung her hammer, which had grown in proportion with her and hit the floor with it. The soil underneath Yusuke and the others began crumbling down. Since they still couldn't free Kuwabara, Yusuke grabbed him by the head and Kurama by the feet and they jumped away from the earthquake.

Seeing that her attack didn't work, Hokuto pointed at the boys and a lighting fell inches away form them.

"O_O…" Yusuke, Kurama and Kuwabara got pale. That was close.

"TAKE THIS THING OFF ME NOW!!" Kuwabara screamed and Yusuke punched him on the head.

"SHUT UP! YOU'RE NOT HELPING!!"

"WHERE ARE THEY!! WHERE ARE THEY!!" Botan was flying not very far away from them. " Damn it Yusuke! Where are you!!"

-BEEP- her intercom rang.

"BOTAN!" Koenma appeared in the little screen. "WHERE ARE YUSUKE AND THE OTHERS!!"

"Prince Koenma!" She yelped. "They are following that band of demons you send them after!! They can't be far from here…." She looked around still searching.

"NO! BOTAN! LISTEN TO ME!! I'M WATCHING THAT BATTLE ON MY SCREEN!!" Koenma got hysterical as Setsuna's face appeared in the TV trying to slash Hiei's leg off. "THE DEMONS I SEND THEM AFTER ARE DEAD!! I JUST GOT THE REPORT!!"

"WHAT!!" Botan lost control over her broom and almost fell. "THEN WHO ARE THOSE GIRLS?"

"Listen to me! Those women Yusuke and the rest of the team are fighting are not the band of demons they were supposed to be hunting! THEY ARE NOT EVEN CRIMINALS!!" They are…"

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!! O_______________o?" Botan's scream scared away the birds miles away…

"AHHHHHHH!" Kuwabara ran away desperately from the lightings that were chasing them closely.

"DAMN IT!!" Yusuke turned and shoot Hokuto, actually hitting her this time in the arm. The giant frowned in pain, but it was nothing, it didn't leave a single mark.

"JA JA JA and another cynical JA!" Sora yelled still on Hokuto's arm. Then she turned her face. Thanks to Hokuto's change of height she was now at Hiei and Setsuna's level. She noticed them a couple yards away. Hiei had jumped and kicked the yesha in the back, making her loose balance and almost fall. Sora frowned. She didn't like to see HER Setsuna loosing. So, if she just waited a little…

As she had predicted, Hiei approached to her in what he thought was a "safe" distance away from the witch. What he didn't knew was that Sora wasn't not only a demon hunter but a really good athlete. So she jumped to Hiei's back and stuck a talisman on his back. A few inches farther and she would had fall.

"WHAT!" Hiei roared as he began to fall. Luckily for Sora, Setsuna was there to grab her by the waist before she fell too.

"You didn't had to do that, I could had handled him." Setsuna glared at Sora.

"Geez! `Thanks' wouldn't hut ya!!" Sora pouted and Setsuna rolled her eyes, diving to where Hiei was falling with a speed that scared the hell out of Sora.

"HEY!! SLOW DOWN!! I ATE A COUPLE OF MINUTES AGO!!"

"SHUT UP AND SEAL HIM NOW!" Sora nodded and Hiei looked at them from the corner of his eye. If she sealed him in that position, falling at the speed he was falling, then he was dead.

Sora took another talisman from her blouse and launched it at Hiei. The jagan closed his eyes. Was this really the end for him? What a pathetic way to die.

"EIEN NO FIRE!"

Just before the talisman got attached to Hiei's skin a blue flam came from nowhere and burnt the piece of paper. Hiei opened his eyes and using his left arm (which was the only moving part of his body right now) he bounced in the floor and fell in his feet.

"HEY!! NOT FAIR!!" Sora yelled.

"Life would be so much fair if people learned to FOLLOW ORDERS." A raging voice came from the branch of a tree and the tree girls turned immediately to her. There it was, staring disapprovingly at them, Hanasaki in her Kitsune form and Yaten standing by her side with a blue flame floating in her hands.

"ONEESAN!!" Yaten growled at Hokuto and the silver-haired stopped aiming to the boys. To Kuwabara's tough luck, the last lighting did hit him.

"What am I going to do with you?" Hanasaki sighed and jumped down from the three, followed by Yaten. Everyone stopped they fights and the reikai tantei assumed a defense pose.

"So now there is five of them? Good for me, I can handle them" Yusuke smirked mockingly, but Kurama's hand in his shoulder stop him.

"Yusuke." The emerald eyes boy nodded a negative and Yusuke stopped.

"Very wise decision." Hanasaki said meeting his eyes with Kurama and making him yelp. That penetrating look, he had seen it before, but when?

Hanasaki frowned to her insides. If he only knew, she had spend the last 16 years waiting for this moment, to have the legendary thief in front of her, and now that she is right there, she has orders to not to touch a single hair of any of this men.

Setsuna and Sora landed next to Hokuto and Hanasaki glared daggers at them. Sora gulped. They had just earned a real looooooong lecture.

"I don't care who you are." Using his only moving arm, Hiei pressed the tip of his Katana against Hanasaki's back. She sighed.

"Do you really think that would kill me? You would be reduced to ashes before you had a chance." Hiei then felt a strange coldness in his back. Right behind him Yaten was standing aiming at him with one blue flame. Try to reduce a fire demon that is the master of the darkness flame to ashes didn't sound the most intelligent thing in the 3 worlds, but if this woman was so confident of the girl aiming at him then there must be a reason. He couldn't use neither his legs or arm, so he shouldn't rush.

"YUSUKE!! YOU HAVE TO STOP!!" Finally Botan came flying from between the trees. She was kind of perturbed and was gasping for air. "GOD! IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO FOUND YOU!! I CAME TO TELL YOU THAT THOSE WOMEN ARE DANGEROUS Andd….." Botan sweat dropped as she saw the situation her friends were at.

"We kind of know that Botan…¬¬U" Yusuke grumbled.

"Well, if a ferry girl is here then that means that our mission in no longer undercover, am I right? Does the prince already knows about this?" Hanasaki asked with a cool aura to the death deity. Botan nodded.

"Yes, he does."

"Oh well, it was about time anyway." Hanasaki crossed her arms.

"UH? KNOW WHAT? WHO ARE THEY!! BOTAN!! WHY DID YOU CAME TO STOP US!! ANSWER ME!!" Kuwabara shook violently the poor ferry girl.

"Kuwabara…" Kurama glared at him and Kuwabara stopped. "This are not the ones we are looking for, am I right Botan?"

"You are right Kurama." Botan said embarrassed.

"I supposed it…" Kuram closed his eyes and crossed his arms.

"WHAT!!" Yusuke cried.

"THEN WHO ARE THIS WITCHES!! TALK FOX!!"

"It seemed strange to me at the beginning. All those rumors about a giant and a bat girl fighting demons…"

"Wait a second! You knew about them?!" Yusuke asked angrily.

"Barely. I also thought that these woman were in fact the ones we were looking for… but…"

"The ones you were looking for are dead." Botan interrupted.

"Yes. Yaten killed them. " Hanasaki smiled.

"Not it makes sense. A demon hunter by your side, the rumors, if you were really criminals, then you wouldn't be fighting youkais and neither she would be fighting with you." Kurama said looking at Sora.

"I have to give you credit, Yoko Kurama…" Hanasaki clapped. "You are as smart as I had heard."

"CAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN ME WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE!! I GOT LOST!!" Kuwabara yelled and Yusuke punched him again.

"SHUT UP!!"

"Of course, allow me to do the presentations…" Hanasaki glanced at Sora.

"I'm Hayabusa Sora, heiress of the Hayabusa Temple, maiko and demon hunter." She sighed and looked at Hokuto. " This is Hokuto the giant, she's guardian…" Then she looked at Setsuna who was glaring death looks at the boys.

"A guardian?" Kurama mouthed.

"Kurotsuki Setsuna."

Hanasaki chuckled and looked back at Yaten.

"Yaten the mistress of the eternal flame, a guardian, I'm Hokuto's younger sister." She then took her hand away from Hiei's back.

"Hanasaki Kitsune at your services." She curtseyed and then looked at Botan.

Then she took something from inside her waistband. Hokuto and Yaten did the same from the pockets of their pants. Setsuna and Sora did something similar, only that they had to lift their skirts a little, that little leather card everyone was holding was placed in their tights…

"Guys, this women are…" Botan shushed.

"We are the from the Reikai Doshin." Hanasaki smirked as the girls showed their badges to them. " The spiritual world police."
