Just another chapter, nothing too interesting. Kurama is now 3 years old and Each chapter will be a different part in his life. Hope you liked this story enough to come back for more-and things will start to get interesting over the next chapter or two depending on when I get it up. Chapter 1: Talents
Shuuichi squealed happily as he sat in the garden outside of his home. His red hair was already beginning to grow-reaching slightly past his ears now. Emerald green eyes sparkled as he pulled at a small yellow flower, pulling it out of the ground. " Oops!" He giggled. He tossed the flower on the ground by his feet-kicking his legs happily. Shiori glanced over at her son-smiling to herself, glad that her son had taken a liking to plants just like her. She loved her garden-treating it just like another child. Her straw hat was suddenly taken off her head as Shuuichi yanked it off-jamming it on his own head and grinning up at his mother.
" Mommy!" He giggled. He held up a pink flower-which was dropping slightly in his fist. " Pant!"
" Yes, Shuuichi, Plant." She smiled. " Can you say 'Flower'?" " Fl-ow-errr..."
" Fower!" He exclaimed happily. He dropped the flower onto her lap-then looking around him.
All was silent for a minute; then...
" BUG!" Shuuichi shrieked- latching onto his mother's arm as he tried to scramble into her lap-he couldn't really walk yet.
Shiori couldn't help but laugh at that. She scooped up her child and held him-calming the boy.
" It's alright, love-Bug won't hurt you...See?" She held the ladybug up-which walked around her palm slowly.
" BUG!!!!!" The boy wailed for a second time-burying his face into his mother's yellow shirt.
Shiori shook her head, smiling as she nudged the ladybug off her finger-which promptly flew off and over the bushes. She sat Shuuichi on the ground again. " No bug. Bug gone...See?" She watched Shuuichi glance around-then giggle. " Good." She smiled, moving over a few feet and began clipping another bush-humming.
Shuuichi sat there for awhile; not moving. He crawled over and pulled on one of the bushes-watching it shake as he let go. Then something odd happened. He noticed one of the flowers there was wilted and dying-it was smaller than the others. Tears welled up in the smaller boy's eyes as he touched the flower.
" Fower. Huwwo Fower. Wate up..." He nudged the plant-stroking the wrinkled petals gently. He felt warmth tingle through his fingers and he watched, amazed as the flower suddenly blossomed-growing at a rapid rate, almost as if time sped up. The petals became soft and smooth-regaining their blue hue. It no longer looked dying or wilted. The boy gasped slightly in awe at what had just happened.
He crawled over to a rosebush not far from his original spot-and saw that the roses were dehydrated-dying and wilted just like the previous flower. The boy touched the rose nearest to him-drawing away quickly as he pricked his finger.
" Owie..." He whimpered, watching a tiny droplet of blood appear on his finger. He felt tears falling, as he wiped the droplet away. Shuuichi sniffled as he once again tried to touch the flower-no sooner than his fingers grazed it before the rose bloomed as well-becoming full and healthy once more. The white petals had a single red streak now-from his small injury. The boy giggled at his new ability, making his way unsteadily over to his mother-falling over a few times in effort to reach her.
Shiori glanced down as she felt someone tug on her shirt-seeing her son looking up at her-green eyes big as he showed her his finger.
" Aww-Poor baby-Did you get a boo-boo?" She asked him-a wistful smile on her face as he nodded. Shiori scooped Shuuichi up and kissed his finger. " Kissies make boo-boos better, hunny-See? All better?" Shuuichi nodded. " Good." She kept him in her lap as she resumed clipping and planting bushes-placing little seeds along the way.
After awhile the little red-haired child began to get bored of watching her-he wanted to make plants grow again! He scooted off her lap and made his way over to one side-a newly planted seed before him. Shuuichi smacked the ground with both hands-making sure the seed was in all the way-like his mother taught him. He sat like that for several minutes-wishing the bush would hurry up and grow-but Shiori told him before it took a long time and lots of care and patience for them to grow.
" Fower. Go!" He whined quietly-freezing instantly as he felt that sensation again-and saw a small stem sprout from the ground-a little leaf protruding from the tip. He gasped-poking it with a small, chibi finger. It sprouted more-and then more. This continues for awhile: Poke. Sprout. Poke. Sprout. Poke. Poke. Sprout. Sprout. After a few minutes there sat a small bush-little flowers beginning to show. Shuuichi giggled-staring at his creation.
Shuuichi was suddenly aware of someone picking him up from behind-a huge grin on his face when he saw his mother's brown eyes twinkling at him. " Come on, Shuuichi-Let's go inside and have some lunch-Being outside in this heat for too long isn't good for you-Or me-Since you took my hat..." She smiled. The boy beamed and held onto her as they made their way inside for some lunch.
Shiori couldn't help but glance back to the spot her son was sitting, She could have sworn that bush wasn't there before....Or those white roses looking as healthy as they were when she came out........
....
....
Must've been the sun getting to her. She shrugged-shutting the door behind her.
