You woke up the next morning to the sun coming through your window.

"Damn Sun", you say, rubbing your eyes.

You didn't sleep very well last night, like most nights. You sit up in your bed, deciding whether you should go back to sleep or get up. While in the middle of your debate, one of the nurses comes in, telling you that it's time for breakfast.

"What are we having?" you ask.

"Oatmeal", she says.

"Goody", you say sarcastically.

She ignores that comment. "Then after that you're going on a walk", she says.

"One good thing to look forward to today", you say, taking out your usual attire, which is a white t-shirt, jeans, and a pair of Nike Airs.

She ignores that comment too.

"Hurry up and get dressed, then come down to the cafeteria", she says. "And no joy rides around the hospital. got it?" she says ,raising an eyebrow.

"Don't worry, I won't", you say sarcastically, with your back turned to her.

She smirks at that comment, then walks out the door, shutting the door behind her.

"Joy rides, yea right" you say to yourself as you head to the shower.

After your shower, you get dressed and head down stairs to the cafeteria.

~At Cafeteria~

You walked into the cafeteria to see about 200 people sitting at the tables eating their bowls of oatmeal or the "Kitchen Slop" as you like to call it.

You get in line and wait patiently for your food. When you get it you go sit down at your usual table with your only friend, Nanashi.

You first meet Nanashi when she stuck up for you when being bullied by some boys when you first came here.

~Flashback~

You were walking down the hall, exploring, when you ran into 3 boys.

"Well, well what have we here, boys, a new comer?", Random bully #1 asked with a smirk. (A/N: Well call him Bob)

"Looks like it, Boss", answered Random bully #2. (A/N: Steve)

"Well have to show this girl how it works around here", Bob said, shoving you.

"Hey leave her alone", said a girl's voice. (A/N: Out of the dark and into the night, I am….. BATMAN…. sorry)

"Hey boss, it's Nanashi", said Random bully #3. (A/N:Fred)

Nanashi then stepped in front of you to protect you.

"Grrrrrrr, come on boys lets go", said Bob.

With that they walked off.

"Thanks", you say.

"No problem", says the girl. She has short brown hair and hazel eyes.

"My name's (first name) (last name)", you say.

"Nice to meet you __________, my name's Nanashi Minamoto", she says, smiling.

Ever since then you have been friends.

~End Flashback~

"Hi, was up?", Nanashi asked.

"The usual", you reply.

You both eat your breakfast in silence. You both took your trays up, and got in line for your walk.

Every week you and your group take a walk. It was the only time you got to go shopping, eat real food, and socialize with other people.

You and your group was made up of 7 people. Nanashi, Ume, Yasu, Nitomi, Katsuro, Sho, and you. They were all around your age.

"Lets go", said the nurse that took you on the walks every week. Her name was Suzume.

The others and you walked out of the building. With Suzume leading the way.
