Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Don't Tell Me ❯ Unexpected Visit ( Chapter 1 )
"Kurama." The harsh whisper called out to him, pulling him from the depths of a peaceful sleep. "Kurama, wake up!"
Chubby fingers grasped his shoulders and shook him. Kurama bolted up. Not realizing whom it was that had woken him up at this dead hour, Kurama flipped over so that he was on top of his "attacker."
"Oh, it's you."
In the darkened shadows and sharp moonlight, Hiei's eyes gleamed the color of old blood. His already-pale face looked a ghostly white, hardly darker than the stark white of the bandana across Hiei's forehead. Beneath the bandana was a slight lavender gleam: Hiei's jagan. The short fire demon panted slightly, something Kurama only ever saw him do during a battle, and a few times years ago when...don't think of that Kurama!
Hiei glared up at Kurama, his plump lower lip stuck out slightly in a pout. His baby-face was adorable. Kurama lay there on top, holding himself just inches from the body below him, looking down at the demon with a peculiar glint in his eye. His lips parted slightly, and he found himself panting also. Red tresses turned scarlet by the night fell framing his face and grazing Hiei's shoulders. "Hiei…,"Kurama breathed.
It was then that Kurama realized how compromising this position was. He rolled off of Hiei and sat up, grinning. "You look cute when you pout like that."
"Hn," Hiei grunted. He didn't bother to sit up, but stared at the golden harvest moon outside the window by Kurama's bed.
"I know you came for something Hiei," Kurama said softly. "What is it? What do you want?"
"You."
Kurama stared at him, his emerald eyes widening in surprise. Did Hiei mean that quite the way it sounded? Not that Kurama had a problem with that. He'd fantasized about Hiei so many times since the fire demon left him that he could almost believe those fantasies were real. He'd wanted the fire demon so badly since...then. Kurama could feel his cheeks tinting pink in excited expectation as he waited for Hiei to elaborate.
"I need your help." Kurama didn't let any of the disappointment he felt show on his face.
"Alright." Kurama mustered a smile. "What trouble did you get yourself into this time?"
Hiei moved uncomfortably, and then stood up. He spoke to the window instead of Kurama. "I'd rather not answer that."
"How can I help you if I don't know what you need help with?"
"You'll see."
"Well, since you won't let me help.... Hiei, will you...will you stay with me for a little while? It's almost morning." Kurama looked smilingly up at his friend.
Hiei turned, tilting his head to examine Kurama. "I'll stay."
"Could you...sit next to me?"
