Prologue

"So I guess this is it" chuckle Kuwabara.

"Yeah" mutter Yusuke as he looked at his friends the last tournament was over. They could finally go home and be rid of their duties of being spirit detective. Until something huge and big arise.

"Well life will seem boring but peaceful now." Commented Kurama.

"Hn"

"Yusuke" Keiko scream from the temple "time to go"

"I guess I'll see you guys later" Yusuke said while kicking dirt.

"Yeah I better go too, Shizuru must be waiting" Kuwabara said as he started to walk away.

No one really wanted to admit it but they were splitting up they were finish they could resume with their regular's lives. They knew they weren't going to see each other very frequently they were going to resume and build up their old lives.

Kurama looked at Hiei and sighed.

"Hiei"

"Hn" Hiei rubbed his hand he couldn't believe how it felt.

"You okay?" Asked Kurama.

He knew what Hiei has gone through alone the fight he had the loss of his limb and the close to death experience.

"Hn, I'm fine shouldn't you leave to you have a ningen life waiting for you."

"I'm not in a hurry to leave, take a walk with me" Kurama walked deeper into the woods.

Hiei followed curious to know what Kurama wanted.

"I want to know what are you planning to do now." Asked Kurama flat out.

"Hn, I plan to stay in the Makai were I belong."

"You really can't understand that I'm human now and that I have a life a family."

"You're half human, no I can't understand why you give in to such weak humans."

"Hiei I don't want to explain because you will never understand me, or be willing to understand"

Hiei eyes widen at the remark he scowled and turn around to walk away.

"Hiei I wish for you to visit me in the ningenkai."

"I can't, no, I won't"

Kurama heart sank he wanted to get closer to Hiei but he couldn't go to the Makai and Hiei had become more distant. He had feeling for him bit by bit he had gotten closer but when he left and return with both Hiruseki stones he knew Hiei had gone through a lot.

"Why?" Kurama asked.

"You wouldn't understand me Kurama you just couldn't. There are times when I don't even understand myself."

"Hiei if you give me time I will." Kurama approached closer to Hiei.

"Time is something I detest and it would be wasted, best if you go and live your life after all you got a second chance don't try and wasted on the Forbidden Child."

"Hiei" Kurama had gotten close to Hiei; he cupped Hiei's face.

Kurama hands were so soft Hiei couldn't move or turn away those emerald eyes burning through his soul.

He knew it was best he just couldn't explain what he felt and he didn't want to pursue it.

Kurama face inched closer soon both of their lips met. Hiei felt like electricity running through his body, he couldn't resist he didn't want to but soon he relaxed.

Kurama ran his tongue along Hiei's lip asking for entranced the koorime parted his lips and soon and tongue fight ensued. Soon after Kurama broke the kiss but before he suck and bit lightly on Hiei's bottom lip. He broke the kiss but still cupped Hiei face he rested his forehead on Hiei's.

"I Love y-"

"Don't say it please don't, You don't love me no one does and I don't blame them or you it's my destiny to be alone."

"But I do" Kurama insisted tracing Hiei lips with his thumb.

Hiei sighed "I'll see you around" Hiei said and turn around to leave.

"No, wait" Kurama called.

"For what Kurama, tell me for what. So you can confess your undying love for me, so you can make promises that seem impossible, so you can fill me up with promises that will never be true."

"Damn it Hiei your the one who can't put down that defense. You're the one that looks at all the bad things in life. You won't believe me because you are afraid of what you may feel. You're afraid you may like it and you think that that is a weakness. All these years I have been there for you I care for you because I love you"

"No! You don't. No one does. I'm the fucking forbidden child I'm supposing to live-in misery and never find happiness! You don't know shit of what I've been through in other to survive I have always had to be on the defensive trust is something that cannot be given easily. I trust you as a fighting partner your the are the only person whose gotten very close to me. I don't want to ruin this I don't want this to change it best this way." Hiei resume walking and soon was out of sight.

"I guess" sighed Kurama as he watched Hiei retreating back leave from the ningenkai and from his life.

Hiei slowly enter the mansion. He felt Mokuro's ki energy he knew she was calling.

He made his way towards the library. He sighed and open the door.

"I was sure you were going to stay in the ningenkai after all you done what you wanted and I was planning on letting you be. The heir thing could wait I don't plan on dying on anytime soon."

"I wanted to stay in the Makai and train here the ningenkai is of no concern to me."

"really what about your sister and that redhead of yours."

Hiei's eyes widen in surprise but soon went back to his original seriousness.

"I hate to admit it but she will be fine with that baka and Kurama is nothing to me."

"your lying"

"what do you care!"

"your stubborn but I can't changed your mind now can I?"

"Hn, If this all I'll be in my room."

"Hiei, since you'll be staying Koenma wanted someone to take care of the portals."

"Hn, well I take the offer."

"good be ready tomorrow we train."

"hn" Hiei left and sighed.

"did I make a good decision today." Hiei asked himself feeling bad.

He may have done mistake but he just didn't know what he wanted or what he felt he felt like dying leaving all three worlds but Mokuro had to bring him back to life after Shigure's fight. he touch his hand it had heal well.

"well It's done" he said as he step into his chambers.
