Explanations

*Hiei's Flash back*

Four years earlier.

Hiei made his way through the portal careful to hide his Ki. He reached the ningenkai and quickly ran towards the temple. He didn't know when the pain would return, but he needed and explanation and fast.

He found Yukina alone inside the temple. He carefully walked towards her.

Yukina turn around feeling someone watching her. When she saw Hiei she immediately stop what she was doing and ran towards him.

"Brother" she exclaimed.

Hiei just smile and return the hug. Before he had left he decide to be truthful and told her the truth and gave her, her Hiruseki stone.

"What brings you here?" She asked as she led him towards the dinning table.

Hiei blushed a bit and for a moment and stutter. "I need to know about the koorime life cycle?"

Yukina pondered for a bit, since Hiei was also half fire demon the thing for him would be slightly different.

"Well our time comes, when we need to reproduce when we usually hit a certain age, but what some of us do if we're not ready to take that step of giving birth. We usually go to one of our caves, which happen to be the coldest part of the island. We go in and focus our energy to freeze our ovaries. That way we don't get the sharp pain in our abdomen and we have more time. To be prepare." Yukina explained.

"Do you have any ideas for half breeds what they should do how do I deal with it?" Asked Hiei

"Well, what I know of fire demons is that they have the same mate for life and that for the males this only happens to them once. Once they mate the feeling disappears, but most of them could go years searching for the right mate. In the middle of mating they bite marking their partner as bondage ship." Explained Yukina.

Hiei nodded indicating he understood. Yukina continued.

"So, I don't know how you plan to control this since there no place cold enough to freeze any organ parts inside of you and I think you can only tolerated just a certain amount of cold since your part fire demon.

But usually you'll have to just wait out the feeling. The pain can usually last up to minutes or sometimes hours." Yukina said.

Hiei nodded taking in the information. "Thank you" he said as he stood up and kissed her on the cheek.

"I have to go now I sneak over here and you know well thank you." He said, as he was ready to leave.

"Oh I though you were going to visit the others" said Yukina. "You know Kurama does misses you." She said

Hiei's eyes widen. 'It couldn't be' he thought.

Hiei nodded, "I can't today I have to go and please do me a favor tell no one I came here today please."

Yukina sighed, "very well please take care you could hurt yourself enduring this." She warned.

"Don't worry I'll be fine." He said.

"Bye"

"Bye"

*End of flash back*

Hiei had sat up quickly and was blushing madly.

"How you know?" Asked Hiei.

"Yukina went through the same thing. She show the same symptoms you show this morning she had me build a plant cave which could stand extreme cold temperatures and she did something well she's been okay since then."

"Well it's something like that," Hiei said.

Kurama just nodded and lay down and close his eyes. He had gotten sleepy.

"Why don't you go back to the house?" Hiei said

"I'm already here" Mutter Kurama as he relaxed and started to doze off.

"Hn" grunted Hiei. 'I wonder how I'm going to make it through this if he keeps triggering me on' thought Hiei. For the last years whenever he went into heat was because he was thinking of Kurama. Kurama was the only person he actually desired he was the only person who had gotten so close to him.

It was mostly physiological he learn. Since for the last years all he did in his spare time was think, he though of the fox a lot, of wondering if they really had a chance. Also since he had already hit that certain age stage, it was like puberty he presume.

He turned around and look at Kurama he had fallen asleep. He saw the steady rise and fall of Kurama's chest.

'He was right I was, no, I am afraid of my own feelings. I'm not sure to how I will react to them. Most of my life its been: kill or die, trust no one or die, everything had an or die. That was the way he grew up. That was his childhood it wasn't so easy to just changed and accept new thing, new ways of living it was very difficult to finally find someone who was willing to love him and be willing to accept him no matter what the prophecy said.' Hiei sighed.

"Well out here you won't get any rest" said Hiei as he slowly pick up Kurama and carry him to his house.

Kurama felt himself being lifted up and being carried. He by just instinct wrapped his arm around his carrier neck and snuggled closer to the strong hard chest. He buried his face at the crook of Hiei's neck and sighed contentedly.

'Damn it Kurama and you're not helping at all' thought Hiei as he walked.

Kib watched his master walked towards his home. The little demon quickly jump out of the tree he was hiding and ran towards the portals he look and check them trying to figure out what Hiei and Kurama had done to them.

When the demon found nothing he ran towards the outskirts of the territory. "Damn I'm a fool for playing with fire" mutter the demon.

When he reached he found the tall dark figured hiding in the shadows. "So?" The Shadow asked.

"They haven't done anything to them; they just check them out today." Kib said.

"Very good and you're master how is he reacting to the presence of Kurama?" Asked the shadow.

Kib pondered for a moment then reply, "he doesn't show any emotions."

"Typical" the shadow murmured. "That's all, meet me here the day after tomorrow."

Kib nodded and hurried back.

The shadow hiding in the darkness travel toward the no land of the Makai. This section of the Makai was mix with forest and deserts no one own these parts here. All out law would hide and the only rule that stood here was the strongest survive.

The shadow made his way towards a secret cave and slipped through the dark shadows until he became the shadow of someone once more.

A tall demon fairly muscular with black hair blue eyes. Two sword being held on his back by two black strap. He sat on the ground with papers spread out in front of him.

"So what's going on?" He asked his traveling shadow.

"They have not interferer with the portals but they plan to do something soon." The shadow responded.

"Well it seems we should hurry and install the device into the portals." The tall dark demon picked up a piece of paper. "I'm still amazed at how these instructions survived the destruction of that place. It's unbelievable how much do demons pay to go to the ningenkai once this whole thing is install I'll be rich." The demon exclaimed.

"Do you want me to follow them tomorrow?" Shadow asked.

"Yes, you have no ki so they won't detect you, Best to be on the safe side and know what they plan to do."

"Very well sir." Shadow responded and slipped through he walls teleporting through any creature's shadow towards Mokuro's territory.

Kurama awoke to find himself on Hiei's bed. He sat up rubbing his eyes then stretching his arms he the got off the bed and walked toward the living room it was still dark outside.

He look at his watched it was three thirty. 'Damn why do I keep waking up at this hour' pondered Kurama.

He look around the dark room and made Hiei's figure slumped over the a chair his arm dangling over his face covering his eyes his head hanging back of the chair. Kurama winced that didn't look like a comfortable way to rest on a chair.

He approached Hiei slowly.

He sat on the ground and stared at Hiei sleeping.

'Damn why do you have to be so stubborn Hiei if you would have let me... I know you and I could have been something but you're so fucking afraid of you're own feeling that you fled to the Makai to run away from them. Hiei I still care for you I had five years to forget you but all I've done is think about you more. If it was never mean to be then I should not be here but I am and this time Hiei I won't quit that easy.' Kurama stood and shook Hiei awake.

"What you want?" Hiei grunted he had barely gone to sleep. This was ridiculous whenever he wanted to sleep he couldn't and when he finally did there something to be done.

"Aren't we leaving in an hour?" Kurama asked.

"Hn"

"So shouldn't we get ready?" Asked Kurama.

"Fine baka Kitsune" Muttered Hiei as he stood up.

"I don't think-" Hiei stopped talking he felt some sort of ki rising up and lowering and then disappearing.

"What?" Asked Kurama.

"There's a fight" Hiei stated as he uncover his jagan and close his eyes trying to figure out who it was.

"Where?" Asked Kurama as he started to feel the Ki's himself.

"The portal that leads through the temple." Hiei as he hurried outside. "Come on" he said as he started to run full speed towards the area.

Kurama was running beside him keeping up with Hiei was hard Hiei's speed had increase drastically.

"Thought you had no guard on Duty?" Asked Kurama.

"Only on one portal, the one that's over by the mountain since its so far away and that one lead to the outskirts of Tokyo that portal is a no use since it has some sort glitch and I notice that's the one that being mess with." Hiei said as they reached the portal.

They found Hiei's guard all slaughter.

They portal was closed, but something was near the entranced.

Kurama approached it.

Hiei looked around all the guards looked like they had been torn open from the inside out a clean straight cut from the stomach all the way to the head. It was so precise and the guards didn't even have their weapons out. It was like they were caught off guard except only one had apparently released a ki blast that miss and landed on a tree.

"So you're the one I felt." Hiei said as he closed the demon eyes. He looked around and saw Kurama picking a black box. Hiei still had his jagan open and clearly saw through the box. It was a bomb.

"Don't open that" Screamed Hiei as he threw himself pushing Kurama. Kurama drop the box he had halfway open when it landed on the ground it exploded, releasing a large ball of fire incinerating everything in its path.
