The guard at the scanner didn't even notice the shadowy form hovering above a large bag. She let one of her hands become solid enough to unzip it and pull out it's contents. Obviously the guard wasn't a very good one if her hadn't seen the amounts of pure heroine and cocaine concealed clumsily in the bag. With the drugs and other contents on the floor she slipped herself into the large duffel bag. Thankful that it's owner had gotten the largest they could find because no only could Ceridwen fit, her own bag could remain with her at all times.

She was waiting for the workers to take the bag to the plane heading for America but instead someone unzipped it and pulled her out in disgust. She turned around to see who had discovered her hiding place and saw that it was a man in a suit and several police. "It appears we have a stowaway. Check her bag." The man in the suit gave orders. Ceridwen jumped in the air and kicked two of the cops in the face.

Two more cops grabbed her arms but she just smiled at them and flipped them onto their backs. The man in the suit was alone now. "Help," he called. "Security! Help!"

"Help," she mimicked. The when she saw about fifty security guards headed her way she took off running. Weighed down with her bag she had to tap into her powers and increase her speed. Soon she was miles away from the airport and walking down yet another ally.

"Smooth," came a voice from behind her. Ceridwen turned to see a short man in a black cloak and outfit walking behind her. How had she not heard him sooner? That wasn't important. She kept walking, her eyes on the passage she would use to get to the bus station. Next thing she knew he was in front of her. "Can't you talk?"

Ceridwen smirked. He was as fast as her. She would see who had more speed when she cranked up her power. She was just an inch from the passage that had been twenty feet away from her a second earlier but the stranger was nowhere to be seen. "Behind you," his voice said simply. "Will you talk to me now that you know that I have similar powers to yours?"

Ceridwen's eyes opened wide. "How do you know about my powers?" Her back was still facing him but even she knew her mistake. She had let nervousness and awe creep into her voice.

She could hear the smirk in his voice. "I came to London to recruit another member for my team in the Dark Tournament. You bumped into me while you were tracking someone and I could sense your power. I have been following you since."

These words hurt her. He was the one who she had hit when she had a premonition and had been on her way to Bane. She had been tracking Scythe for a week nonstop but gave up and then followed Bane's essence. If this man had sensed her power then it was true that if only she had followed Bane's essence in the beginning he might not have gotten killed by the Perils. She knew that she had used too much power and he might as well. She turned to face him, "Who are you?"

His smirk slowly faded. It appeared that he heard her pain and saw it in her eyes. If he had been following her then he knew that Bane was dead and she had held him as it happened. He probably knew it was her fault too. If he did he didn't say it. "I am called countless names, most of them are foul, but you may call me Hiei."

The name struck a bell in her head. "The same Hiei working with Kurama and Yuske?"

"The very same. Even though I have been following you I have yet to know your name. I know that man called you Ceri and he probably used your full name earlier but I wasn't close enough to hear it then."

"My name is Ceridwen. I am keeper of the organization Lai and I work in the field. The man who called me Ceri was my partner. He was doing undercover work that got him killed. Unless you can get me to Scythe or the Perils I suggest you be on your way and let me go without so much as a goodbye."

"Scythe huh," he asked. "Well I don't know any Perils but a team named Scythe just entered the Dark Tournament and another member of it made a bet that her team, Scythe, would win."

"Was her name Lady Elva?"

"I believe so."

"And you want to recruit me on your team?"

"That's the general idea. All teams have signed up but one of our number has been missing so we're replacing them. You will have one month to train with me before you have to be ready and we fight."

"I will join you on a single condition. When we fight Scythe, as I assure you we will, you must let me fight the person of my choice, understand?"

"Yes. I accept your condition."

Ceridwen walked with Hiei and they were soon at an abandoned building. As they walked in Ceridwen had daydreams of killing both Lady Elva and her brother Lord Vall.
