Chapter Six: Planning Surprises and Giving Explanations
Amelia and the boys had decided to leave for Japan in the next few days. She tried to tell her family that she was leaving, but whenever she tried to tell everyone she lost her nerve. So instead of telling her family she told her friends.
"YOU'RE WHAT!?!" they yelled in unison.
"I'm going to Japan for a while."
"But...but why?" Z asked.
Amelia then proceeded to tell her friends about how she had met the detectives and what they had explained to her. When she was done they just sat and stared at her in a stunned silence.
"So you're a demon?" Sky asked in bewilderment.
"I'm half demon to be exact, but yes."
"And you're sure you have to go?" Z asked.
"Yeah, unless you want a fireball to pop out of my hand and hit one of you. You guys do remember what happened last time, right?"
They just sat there hoping someone would break the silence. With nothing left to say Amelia left her friends to think about what she had told them.
"One down, one to go," Amelia said to herself.
She walked back home as slowly as she could. Amelia was dreading telling her family. She could handle her friends' disappointment, but it would be harder with them. She could already picture it. The younger kids crying and telling her she couldn't leave. The older ones would be asking for an explanation and Anna trying to lock her in a closet in an attempt to keep her from leaving.
Amelia got home and told everyone to gather in the living room. She took a deep breath before starting.
"You guys know I've been here for a pretty long time."
"Yeah almost eleven years," Anna interrupted and was promptly shushed by one of the others.
"Anyway, I'm going to have to go to Japan with the boys and I won't be coming back for a while."
She then told her family about the same thing she had told Z and Sky, and unfortunately they took it how she thought they would.
The room got quite noisy as everyone told her why she couldn't leave. With everyone yelling it was pretty hard to decipher what they were saying but she guessed it was something along the lines of "You can't go. Please don't leave" and etc.
Amelia covered her ears to keep from going deaf.
"Will everyone please SHUT UP!?!" She yelled.
"I'm going, I've already made up, so just live with it!"
With that Amelia stood up and ran out of the house.
"She's right, we have to live with it," Anna said.
"You of all people are saying that?" one of the younger boys named Gabriel asked.
"I was planning on locking her in the closet, but she figured how to get out the last time I did that."
"You know, if you want to show Amelia that you all are okay with her leaving I know what you can do," Ms. Robinson offered.
"And we would do that by..."
"We can throw her a surprise party of course! It's Amelia's birthday tomorrow and we can give her a big party this year."
"I forgot Amelia even had a birthday. Why didn't she say anything?" Anna asked.
"She's always forgetting. She doesn't even know when her birthday is. So I picked a day and that's when we decided her birthday would be."
Everything explained; the children and Ms. Robinson broke into groups to plan Amelia's party. Anna went upstairs to tell the detectives their plan.
"You guys have to help us."
"We don't have to do anything brat," Yusuke told her.
"You will, or I am going to something so horrible to you that there are no words to describe it," she said while giving them the scariest glare she could muster.
"Okay got it. We'll help we'd love to help. Wouldn't we Urameshi?" Kuwabara quickly told her.
”No we would n-“ Kurama quickly cut him off before he could anger the pink haired girl anymore.
"Of course we'll help you Anna. We'll even pitch in and get her a gift."
Hiei of course hadn't said anything. He had been watching Amelia through the window. She was punching the heck out of a tree in the front yard.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid! Why can't they just make it easy for once and leave me alone?" she said to herself.
If she doesn'tremember when her birthday is then does she even know who she is? That would explain why she didn't know she was half demon, Hiei thought.
Hiei continued to think about this idea while the others helped the children plan Amelia's party. All of them were oblivious to the demon that was silently watching them.
No one ever reviews this, so I have now decided to post one chapter per week. Unless someone does review it, then I'll post a chapter right after that. Come on people, how can I know if anyone likes it if they don't say anything? Please?
