Chapter Five: The Decision Part II
(Dream Sequence) (This is basically a continuation of the last dream so I'll pick up from there.)
Amelia closed her eyes knowing that death was coming. She could hear her pursuer's cruel laughter from behind her.
"Did you honestly think you could escape when the fools you call parents couldn't?"
Amelia's blood froze in her veins. She was so scared she could hardly breathe. Her only wish was that he would kill her quickly.
He picked her up by the throat and slammed her body against a tree. Amelia struggled to hold back a cry of pain.
He may kill me, but I won't give him the satisfaction of knowing he caused me pain, she thought.
"You actually thought you could escape me in the living world, didn't you? You may have gotten rid of me for a while but you can never truly escape," he whispered into her ear.
"But, I'm feeling generous today. Apologize to me for your parents' defiance and I will let you live...for now that is."
She spat in his face when she heard this offer.
"My parents did nothing wrong. You are a cold heartless murderer and someday you will pay for what you have done."
"And who's going to make me, you, a worthless half demon brat?"
With that he drew out a knife from his belt and held it to her throat.
"I just want a small apology. It's not that hard. I'll even tell you what to say. Repeat after me: I am truly sorry for my worthless parents' defiance of their master, and I swear that I will be a loyal servant to you for the rest of my life Lord Ryushi."
"I am truly sorry,” she began, “that you are so weak that you think you must pick on a child to feel strong." Amelia mocked.
Amelia's hands were still free so she threw a fireball in his face. Ryushi screamed in agony and let her go. She ran away from him as fast as she could. He could hear Ryushi's voice in the distance.
"You'll never escape me child! You'll die just like your parents. You will never escape Amara!" he yelled.
(End Dream Sequence)
Amelia sat bolt upright in bed. Her entire body was shaking uncontrollably. She hugged her knees to her chest, trying to stop it.
She looked at the clock and saw that it was 7:30 AM.
Was that really just a dream? It felt so real, she thought.
"I might as well get up," she said to herself.
She got dressed and went downstairs, unaware of the pair of crimson eyes that had been watching her just minutes ago.
Amelia was surprised to find that almost everyone was awake.
"Good morning sleepy head, want some breakfast?" Ms. Robinson asked.
"Good morning Mom. No thanks, I think I'll skip breakfast today."
She went outside and walked to the park. Her favorite place to think was in the park: the tallest tree.
She climbed onto one of the branches and stared into space.
Maybe I was tooquick toanswer the boys. If I go with them I could get these weird powers under control. But, then again if I leave what'll happen here while I'm gone? What if everyone forgets me though? They wouldn't do that would they? Kuwabara did say I'd be able come back though, and it would only be for a few months, they couldn't forget me in that short a time. Maybe I'll even figure out these crazy dreams. And I'll even get to ditch school for a while. Pros outnumber the cons, I guess I'm going, she thought.
With that Amelia jumped out of the tree and ran back home.
Hiei had seen Amelia's dream and was astonished by what he had seen.
Did that really happento her? The child in the dream looked enough like her. But this Ryushi person had called her Amara instead of Amelia. Could they be the same person? Hiei thought.
Just then, Amelia walked in and interrupted his thoughts.
She went to talk to Yusuke asked him to tell the others to follow Amelia to her room so they could talk without "the spies" listening.
"I've thought it over and I've decided to take you up on your offer," she told them.
"Why the sudden change of heart?" Kurama asked.
"I just...something is telling me that I shouldn't miss out on this," she said, thinking back to her dream.
They then started to discuss how they would begin her training and things like that.
Hiei continued to stare at Amelia throughout the conversation.
She's acting as if she never had that dream, but I know that's what convinced her to come. Who is this girl and where did she come from? Why was this Ryushi person after her? Hiei thought.
Amelia noticed him staring.
"What are you looking at shorty?" she asked.
"Nothing," he answered.
"Well than it's decided Amelia's going home with us!" Yusuke exclaimed.
