Ch. 1

 

“Can't a person have a vacation without any interruptions?” Yusuke complained to Koenma,

 

“I'm sorry Yusuke, but—.”

 

“Let me guess,” Yusuke interrupted, “A demon escaped to Ningenkai, and is now killing humans for the fun of it?”

 

“ No, a demon from Makai stole the Jamen Pendent.” Said Hiei having read Koenma's mind.

 

“Yes… that is correct,” said Koenma, “You know you really shouldn't make it a habit to read other people's minds.”

 

“Hn.”

 

“So who stole the pendent?” Kurama asked in his usual sweet voice

 

“Oh, right, her name is Kira—.”

 

“Nani! A girl?!” exclaimed Kuwabara .

 

“Yes, she is a fire Youkai and a very skilled swordsman, she is very strong so you might have some trouble with her. Here is a picture of her.” At that Kuwabara snatched the picture out of Koenma's hand.

“Whoa! She's hot!” Kuwabara yelled.

 

Hiei glanced at the picture. She was very pretty. She had long black hair down to her waist in a single braid. And a blue sleeveless shirt with black pants. What interested Hiei was the tear gem on a string around her neck. `Yes, she is very lovely.' Hiei thought, `No, I can't be thinking about that. Who cares what she looks like. I'm on a mission.'

 

Koenma sat back down at his desk, “Well once you capture her, bring her back here and we'll deal with the rest.”

“Come on Reikka, we need to get home before nightfall.”

 

“But big sister, my feet are hurting me and I don't—.”

 

“Wait. Someone's coming….two demons…very strong….and two humans. I wonder what they want?”

 

She picked up Reikka and started to run off into the woods where their house was. What if the demons and humans were pursuing her? She couldn't risk getting Reikka hurt, she was all Kira had now. She put Reikka down and told her to run the rest of the way home. She knew she couldn't outrun the two youkai so she waited for them to come.

She was scared. She was still very young. In human years she was only 17. Her mother and father were killed by a demon when she was only 13. It was up to her to take care of her little sister.

Suddenly a youkai in a black cloak appeared in front of her. By then night had fallen so she couldn't make out his features. But she could tell he had black spiky hair and was a little short. Then another youkai along with two humans appeared on his side. The other youkai had long hair and was quite a bit taller then the other. The yellow moon casted a shadow from the tree on the two humans so she could not tell what they looked like.

 

“What do you want?” she asked defensively

 

“We are here on Koenma's orders to take you to him.” Said one of the humans. She guessed he

was the leader.

 

“And what if I refuse?”

 

“Then we'll have to take you by force.” Said the short demon as he

stepped up.

 

Kira pulled out her katana and got in her fighting stance.

 

“Fine.” She said.

 

Kira could tell he was strong, so she used her special technique. “Katana Flame!” she yelled. Her sword turned into blue flames. Then she ran toward him trying to hit him in the chest. He blocked her attack easily. Then she tried to get his feet, but he was to fast for her. The fight went on like that for a while, him one step ahead of her. Then he came at her. She was ready, she held out her sword in front of her to block his attack. Then she heard a voice. ~Kira….help.~ it was Reikka, trying to reach her telepathically. When Kira heard her sister in her mind she dropped

her sword and just stood there staring in the direction of her house. The youkai she was fighting was still coming toward her. Kira had completely forgotten about the fight, or anything around her. He turned his katana around to the dull side and hit her between her neck and shoulder. She fell to the ground unconscious. He picked her up.

 

“ What the hell did you do to

her Hiei?” asked one of the humans.

“ I didn't do anything, baka ningen ” he replied.

“She looked as though she was in some kind of trance.” said the other youkai

“Hn”
