Ch 2

 

Kira finally woke up. She was lying in a twin-sized bed, in a very big room with light blue walls.

 

`How did I get here?' she wondered `All I can remember is fighting with that youkai.'

 

Then the door opened and a small toddler came in. He was floating about a foot off the ground instead of walking. After him came the two humans and the youkai from before.

 

“I see you are awake. Sorry to have to kidnap you like that, but it was the only way to get you here.” said the toddler.

 

“Where am I?” Kira asked a little shakily.

 

“You're in Reikai, but most people just call it Spirit World. And I am Koenma, prince of Reikai.”

 

“I know who you are,” Kira replied

 

Koenma introduced everyone to

Kira. (you already know who everyone is so no need to write it out. And if you don't then you shouldn't be reading this.)

 

“Kira, what happened to you during that fight with Hiei? You just froze.” asked Kurama.

 

Kira just stood there for a second then remembered `Reikka' Kira jumped out of the bed and ran through the door. She had to get to her sister. She knew it was probably to late, but she had to try.

 

Koenma sighed, “Hiei will you please go get her?”

 

Kira was already out of the castle when suddenly Hiei appeared right in front of her. He grabbed her around the waist to take her back, but she hit him right in the face with her fist. She started to run again. Then she felt her hands being locked behind her back.

 

“Baka onna.” said Hiei “I have to take you back.”

 

He jumped up through the window to the room where they were just at. She struggled to get away, but his hold on her was too tight. When they got to the room Hiei threw Kira on the bed.

“Kira, don't make this any more difficult than it has to be.” said Koenma in a very agitated voice. He had already had to fire 3 ogres that day and received 50 spankings from his father for doing it. So he was in no mood.

 

“But you don't understand!” Kira yelled in a rush, “My sister is in danger, yesterday when I froze, it was because she was trying to contact me through our minds. She needs my help!”

 

“I see…Hiei, since you are the fastest one of us all, take Kira to her sister.” said Koenma

Hiei just stood there with an annoyed look on his face for a minute. Koenma glared at him.

 

“Fine.” Kira got on Hiei's back (piggy-back-style) and jumped out the window. She told him that her house was only a little ways from the spot they were fighting at last night. So he was headed for that direction. `He smells so sweet. And he feels so warm.' She thought `No, I can't be thinking about that. I have to save Reikka.'

 

Hiei was jumping from tree branch to tree branch, when he finally landed in front of her small house. She jumped down from his back and ran to her house. When she ran inside she saw that everything was a mess. Her favorite chair was turned upside down, there was paper all over the floor, and everything was in disarray. She ran into the living room. Her eyes swept across the room and finally landed on a large pool of blood. Next to the blood was Reikka. Kira ran over to her sister's side. There was a gash in her chest. And bruises and scratches all over her face and body. She was dead.

“Reikka no! You can't be dead!” Kira yelled as she shook Reikka trying to wake her up. But she knew in her heart that she was dead. Who would have done this to her sister? As far as she knew, there was no one with a grudge against her and any enemy she had ever had, she had killed. Tears rolled down Kira's cheeks. As her tears fell to the ground they turned into bright blue tear gems.

 

“Reikka, I swear I will avenge your death! I will kill whoever did this to you!”

 

Hiei came into the room. Kira didn't notice him. He walked over to her and sat down next to her. She turned to look at him. He noticed that she was crying. Even with red puffy eyes and tears running down her cheeks, she was still the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. He wanted to hold her. He wanted to tell her that everything was going to be okay, but why? Why did he feel this way? He wasn't in love was he? He couldn't be. He had no emotions. Emotions were a weakness to him. Or were they?

 

Then he looked at her necklace he had seen before.

Kira saw him looking at it and said weakly “It's from my mother. She was an ice koorime. It's the last tear she ever shed before she...died.”

 

Hiei turned away from her. He wanted to do something for her, to make her feel better. Kira looked back at her sister.

They buried Reikka under a big tree in the yard. (I know that is so lame, but I couldn't think of anything else.)

 

Hiei took Kira back to Koenma's palace. The whole way back Kira just cried her eyes out. Hiei walked into the room first and told everyone what happened. Then Kira came in.

“I am sorry about your sister Kira.” said Koenma.

 

“It's alright. I'm fine now.” she replied. But she wasn't fine, she just didn't want these strangers to think that she was weak. But why had she been able to cry in front of Hiei?

 

“Well under the circumstances, Kira, we'll let you have some rest and I will talk to you later.”

 

Everyone left the room where she had woke up from just hours before. She saw some pajamas on the dresser and decided to change into them. She crawled into bed and just lay there awake for the longest time. How could God take Reikka away from her? She was the last and only thing that Kira cared for anymore. Now she had nothing, no one.

A few hours later Kira woke up to the sound of Kuwabara and Yusuke fighting about who was prettier, Tara Reid or Nicole Richie.

 

“Ahh, I see you are finally awake,” Kurama said to Kira “I'll go get Koenma then.”

 

A couple of minutes later Kurama came back with Koenma.

 

“Good, now that you are awake I have a few questions to ask you,” said Koenma, “Why did you steal the Jamen Pendent from spirit world?”

 

“The Jamen Pendent?”

 

“Yes.”

 

“Ohhhh, you mean that tacky necklace with the green stone?”

 

“Uhhh…yeah that's the one.” said Koenma a little offended that she said it looked tacky.

 

“Oh, a demon asked me to steal it for money. And so I stole it and sold it to him.”

 

“What did he look like?” Koenma asked,

 

“I don't know. He was wearing a big black cloak with a hood over his head, and his face was covered up. But he did say his name was Bomet.” she replied. She had just noticed that Hiei wasn't there.

 

“This isn't good. Do you know what the Jamen Pendent does?” said Koenma, everyone shook there heads no “ If this demon knows how to use the Pendent he could let all the demons into ningenkai. The Jamen Pendent is what keeps the three worlds separate. We have to get it back.”

 

Just then Hiei came in through the window. He had been sitting up in a tree in the gardens of Reikai. They all looked at him when he came in. They knew there was no need to tell him what was going on, because he already heard everything using his Jagan eye. Then everyone looked back at Koenma who began speaking to Kira again.

 

“Kira, even though you aren't using the Jamen Pendent you still stole it. You're going to have to help get it back. After that you'll have to go to Reikai prison for a long time.”

 

Kira looked a little sad, but she knew there was nothing she could do.

 

“When will we leave?” asked Hiei, “You'll all leave in two days. Botan will take you to Makai.”
