Confessions

“Wow Mrs. Minamino, this is really good food, I really love the rice balls, they seem to have something in them I can't quite describe, but its good.” “Well, that's good you can't tell what it is, because it's a secret ingredient, its mother's specialty, even I don't know what it is.” “That's right and I plan to keep it that way, even though my Shuichi is a genius he won't ever find out what it is.” “Well whatever it is, it sure is good!” Jessica said as she gulped down another rice ball. “So Jessica you say your parents let you come to Japan all alone?” Mrs. Minamino questioned. “Yes, they did, I really wanted to go, and they trust me, and they knew it was a really good opportunity for me to go study in Japan.” “But still, all alone like that, it must be lonely, I'm glad my Shuichi took a quick liking to you. I've never known my Shuichi to take a liking to a girl so quickly, Awwww it must have been love at first sight.” Jessica's face immediately turned crimson. “Mother!” “Calm down, Shuichi dear, I was just kidding, though it wouldn't surprise me, Jessica is a very attractive, and nice girl.” “Mother!” “Alright I'll stop, though I don't see what's wrong with me complimenting your girlfriend.” “Mother!” By now Kurama's face was as red as his hair. “I'm really sorry.” Jessica said as she stood up, and bowed respectively towards the Minamino's “I really should be going now, we have school tomorrow, and I just forgot I have some work at home I should finish.” With that Jessica ran back to Kurama's bedroom, and grabbed her stuff. Than she ran back out towards the front door. “Sorry again. Thanks Mrs. Minamino for dinner.”

Jessica than quickly left Kurama's apartment, and went next door to her apartment, leaving Kurama, and Mrs. Minamino staring at the door. “Oh my, I hope it wasn't something I said, I'm so sorry Shuichi.” “Don't worry Mother, I don't believe it was something you said, I think it was my fault.” “But why, what did you do?” “I may of told her a few things she didn't want to hear earlier, but don't worry Mother, she just needs some time alone, than I will go over there and fix things up with her.” “So you're sure it wasn't something I said?” “Yes I'm positive, don't worry yourself over it.” Kurama said with a reassuring smile. “You should go ahead to bed, I'll clean up the dishes.” Kurama told her. “Are you sure Shuichi?” “Yes Mother, you need your rest, you haven't been sleeping well lately.” “Ok if you say so, thank you Shuichi, you're such a good boy. With you here I don't even need a husband, you already take such good care of me.” She giggled. “Well you took such good care of me when I was a child, so it's only right that I return the favor. Well its getting late, you'd better get some sleep.” “Alright, good night Shuichi.” “Good night Mother.”

When Jessica got into her house she ran back to her room, and turned on her music. Jessica loved music; it always helped her when she felt bad. She turned on one of her favorite songs, “Hide” by Creed, (A/N: don't own) and sat on her bed. `I can't believe I just ran out like that. Kurama probably hates me now. Its just that when his Mom brought up the who girlfriend thing, I guess I just got nervous, or scared. It brought back the whole story Kurama told me. At first when I heard it, I didn't think much of it. I thought it was cool sounding, but it never really sank in, till now that is. Now it seems so unbelievable, but I do trust Kurama, it's just hard to believe that we're demons, and used to be lovers only 16 years ago. I've never even had a boyfriend, and now I have someone wanting to be my lover, who's very serious about it too.'

Kurama was in deep thought while he did the dishes. `I knew it was too early to tell her, but I still did. I just hope she doesn't leave Japan because of it. I was so stupid to think she was just taking everything I said, and accepting it. The new information just needed sometime to sink in, and I guess it just hit her at that time, and she was just too overwhelmed by it. I don't blame her though, even if she did promise not to run away. She hasn't broken her promise yet. I know she tried to believe everything I said, because she's acting like she believes it, and in my mind she hasn't left me yet. She listened to everything I said, and didn't run away than, she left after I was done, which was ok. I was just worried she wouldn't hear everything I had to say, and just refuse to listen to me. So I guess there's still a chance. Oh hell I'm just kidding myself, there's no chance. If there is one it's very slight. How can she look at me the same again, when she knows how much I deeply care for her? It'll just make it awkward between us. Was one life together not enough for me? I just had to bother her again in this life, but I saw this as my second chance, but than I mess it up, and there's no way I'll get a third chance. The second chance was lucky enough, I though she died until I heard rumors that she was alive, living as a human, with no memories of her demon life. My second and last chance and I blew it.'

Kurama finished up the dishes and headed back to his room to relax, and think for a while. Once he got in his room, he could hear music, coming from the other side of the wall. `That must be Jessica's room. It's right next to mine; that's weird. So that means the only thing separating our rooms is a measly 5-inch wall.' Kurama could hear the song “Hide” by Creed he knew pretty well, ending, and the next song “Only One” by Yellowcard (A/N: don't own), which he knew also, coming on. `This song describes our little situation quite nicely. I wonder what Jessica's doing right now, well besides listening to her music pretty loudly.' Despite he's bad mood, he chuckled a little bit, and felt himself drifting off to sleep. Meanwhile Jessica was antagonizing about what she should do. She realized the music was only making her feel worse tonight, so she turned it off, and decided to go someplace quieter. She got up off her bed, and made her was to her front door. She walked outside and leaned against the banister overlooking the apartment complex parking lot, below her. She didn't focus on that; instead she looked up to the clear midnight sky. The moon was full, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. There was a bit of a chill in the air, but it was overall warm outside, it was spring after all.

Kurama awoke to silence. Jessica had turned off her music. Kurama had only been sleeping for 20 minuets, and in those 20 minuets he already had a nightmare about the day Jessica disappeared. `This is going to be a long night, if all it takes is 20 minuets for me to be having a nightmare.' Kurama got up and went to his kitchen to get a glass of water. After he finished his water, he went over to a window by the front door and looked up to the night sky. `Wow, the sky is really clear tonight, and the moon is so full, it's all so beautiful.' Than Kurama finally took his eyes off the sky, and moved them a little to the left, and spotted Jessica looking up at the same beautiful sky he was. She looked deep in thought, and as if she had been crying. `She's so beautiful, much more beautiful than the sky is.' Jessica was wearing a black mini-skirt, and a red tank top. `Her color choice is the same as ever. What am I doing just standing here looking at her, I have to go do something. I can't blow this opportunity.'

Kurama opened his door and came outside. Jessica heard him and turned around to see a very serious, and sad looking Kurama behind her. Jessica's heart started pounding. `No I'm not ready for this yet, I haven't figured out what I'm going to say or do.' Jessica couldn't manage to say anything. “I'm so sorry” Kurama said while looking sincerely into her eyes. When Jessica finally regained her voice she asked, “What are you sorry about? I'm the one who should say sorry, I ran away, I broke the promise.” “No you didn't, you didn't run away while I was talking, you ran away after I was done, so you didn't break the promise, and I don't blame you for running away. I shouldn't have told you all this so soon, it wasn't a good time. Please forgive me; I love you so much, and I can't bear to lose you again. Even if it's just as friends I want to be with you.” Kurama pleaded. Jessica was speechless again. `I must have meant so much to him in our past life, I can't even imagine it.' Jessica just stared at Kurama who was just looking at her with pleading eyes. “I won't leave you Kurama. I'm glad you told me all this. I guess I just needed some time alone to think about it. I needed to figure out my own feelings for you, and I think I figured most of it out.” “And?” Kurama said sounding a little eager, but a little hesitant for Jessica to continue. “I'm pretty sure I'm in love wit…” Jessica was cut off by Kurama's embrace. Kurama held Jessica so tightly as if she would just fade away into the darkness of the night if he didn't. Kurama buried his face into Jessica long, soft, brown, locks, and whispered in her ear “I love you so much.” Jessica was so shocked she couldn't do anything. She was overwhelmed by Kurama's touch. Feeling Jessica not responding Kurama finally broke the embrace and looked down at her. “I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that so suddenly. I've just been so used to being able to freely show my emotions to you, sometimes I just forget.” “No, no.” Jessica finally managed to say. “It's ok, I was just sort of shocked, that's all, but you didn't let me finish what I was saying earlier. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with you, but I've never been in love before so I might not know for sure, but I really think I am.” Kurama just started laughing at this. “And what's so funny?” Jessica yelled, while her face was turning completely red. “I'm sorry, I didn't really mean to laugh. Its just, that's the exact same thing you said to me about 20 years ago.” “Really!?” “Yup, word for word, same exact thing.” They both started laughing now. Jessica was so happy the tension was gone, and they could just talk, and laugh together again.

“So Kurama wanna tell me a little bit more about my past?” “Isn't it a bit late? Its midnight, and we have school tomorrow.” Jessica just gave him an annoyed look. “We can miss school just this once, besides tomorrow's Saturday, so it's just a half day, we wont miss much.” Jessica said with a big smile. “Besides I feel like a two-day weekend, I'm used to it back in America.” “Very well, what do you want to know, I'll tell you anything, since you should know it anyways. It's only right for me to let you know.” “Lets see. Why don't you pick up where you left off in the story of how we met? Its already beginning to sound like a shojo manga. I always read those.” “Still? You read them a lot way back than too. You're just hooked on them I guess. Oh I remember this one time you asked me to act out a scene with you from one of those books.” “Really, I asked you that?” Jessica asked embarrassed. “Yes, actually you asked me several times for several different scenes.” “And did you do them?” “Yes, even though a few you picked were really corny. I did almost any request you asked of me. You had a lot of control over me, but I never let you overpower me.” Kurama said with a smirk. “So I suppose you could say we were pretty equal, you had control of me sometimes, but than I had control of you other times, so we were even. But anyways back to where I left of in the story before.

{FLASHBACK} {NORMAL POV} (A/N: Don't ask me how Kurama is able to tell Jessica about her own thoughts she had. This flashback is for you guys, so it's going to have everybody's thought, and actions as if it were happening in present time. Future notice, all flashbacks will be like this unless I change the POV.)
`Where am I?' Jessica thought as she started waking up from being passed out. She was in a big, fancy bedroom that smelled like roses. Jessica turned her head towards a big window in the room, and could see it was raining very hard. Than a big clash of thunder shook her. “EEEEEEEK!” Jessica screamed. The thunder startled her. Than a big flash of lightening filled the dim room wit a bright light, and in that instant Jessica caught a glimpse of someone in the doorway, with glowing yellow eyes. “AHHHHH, get away from me you evil demon!” Jessica screamed, and grabbed the closest thing, a pillow, and threw it at her supposed attacker. The man in the door caught the pillow easily even though it was thrown with tremendous speed. “That's no way to treat the guy who just helped you.” The man said as he turned on the lights in the room. “Oh, it's you! Hey what the hell am I doing dressed in these sultry robes, and in a bed? What the hell did you do to me?” “My, my, you don't need to be so hostile. I haven't done anything to you.” “Than how did I get dressed in these clothes?” “One of my maidservants got you out of your wet clothes and into something dry. Sorry if they happen to be MY extra robes, but I thought they would look good on you. And MY robes aren't sultry.”

“They're kinda big for me, and they're tied in a weird way.” “Well than I guess I shouldn't have trusted my maid servant to dress you, I guess I should have done it myself, I'm good at putting on those robes.” “PERVERT!” “I'm just kidding, what happened to the sweet princess I was talking to before you passed out?” “That was before I knew who you were.” “Ah, but I don't treat you differently, now that I know you're the princess of the Demon World.” “Yes you do, you treat me way differently than any other person who steps into The Legendary Bandit Youko Kurama's territory. If any man were to come in here, you would have killed him by now, and if any women were to come in here you would have had your way with her, and killed her by now. So I would say you treat me differently.” “My you sure know a lot about me. I guess your right I do treat you differently from everyone else, but not because you're the Princess.” “Why than?” “Its because I fell in love with you, at first sight.” Youko said with a big smirk on his face. “WHAT! You've gotta be joking.” “I don't joke about these things. If I say I fell in love than I did. Believe what you want to though. It'd be pretty hard to prove the truth of my confession right here and now. Let me just ask you something, do you believe in love at first sight?” “What? Yeah I do.” “Than you should understand.”

“ My Lord.” Called a maidservant running down the hallway. “What is it?” “The Lady's clothes are clean, here they are.” “Ah, well Jessica here are you clothes, you may get dressed in that bathroom over there. As for me I shall be going down to dinner now. Come down as soon as you're finished.” With that Youko gave Jessica her clothes and left the room. Jessica made her way to the bathroom Youko had pointed out. Once Jessica was done dressing, she left Youko's room. She looked around for a maidservant, and spotted one a little ways down the hall. “Excuse me Mama but could you tell me where Youko would be? He said he is eating dinner.” “Oh why certainly my Lady, my Lord would be down in the dinning room. Here I'll lead you there.” “Thank you.” The maidservant led Jessica down the stairs and to a big fancy dinning room. “Thank you again Mama.” Jessica said and bowed to her. “Oh no my Lady, there's no reason for you to bowing to me. I'll be going now.” After she said that she ran off.

“You don't have to be so polite to them.” Youko spoke up from behind a big chair in front of a large dinning table. “I don't have to do anything, I wanted to do it. It a nice gesture.” “Than why aren't you a little more polite to me?” Even though Jessica couldn't see, she could feel that Youko had a big smirk on his face. “Because I can only be so polite. I will thank you for taking care of me, and letting me stay here while the storm passed though.” “Oh it was my pleasure.” “Now why does that sound perverted.” Jessica whispered. “Why don't you come sit down and have some food? I'm sure your hungry.” “Uh huh.” Was all Jessica said. She walked over and took the only other seat, which was across from Youko. Youko clapped his hands together and a bunch of waiters came through a door with carts of food. “Isn't that a bit much?” “Well some of it is for my comrades that live here with me. You just take what you want.” Jessica looked over the carts, and took some mashed potatoes, muscles, fried chicken, and a small cut of steak. Youko took a large steak, some fish, and a baked potato. Than a waiter came in a poured Youko, and Jessica wine. All the waiters left after serving Jessica, and Youko.

“Is something wrong Princess?” “I've never really had wine before.” “You're kidding me. Your of royal blood, you should be having wine every night.” “My parents do, but they don't let me.” “That's insane. They are too protective of you. Your what, 100 years old?” “124 years old.” “You should have been drinking wine when you were in your twenties. As for me I started drinking wine when I was 10.” “That's really crazy. Just wondering, how old are you now.” “Do you really want to know? I'm older than you.” “It can't be that old.” “Oh its not that bad, your pretty young. I'm 294 years old.” “That's not too bad. Your only 170 years older than me.” “So Princess, did you ever think you'd ever be have dinner with the most notorious thief in all of Demon World?” “Don't be so full of yourself. No I never thought I would have dinner with you, I didn't really care about you. You were just some horrible thief that had stolen from my family a couple times.” “I stole from you family.” “Yup, you sure did.” “Oh well, I've stolen from so many people, it's hard to keep track of all of them. But what I can't figure out is if I did steal from your house, why didn't I steal the most beautiful, and valuable thing in it.” “And what would that be, cause I'll make sure our guards take special care of it.” “I'm sure they already do take really good care of you.” “We're not talking about me, we're talking about the most beautiful, valuable thing in my house.” Jessica said with a stern look. “Same thing, I was talking about you from the beginning.” Jessica face flushed with a deep crimson color. “Awwww, did I embarrass you? It's true though. I myself never thought I'd be having dinner with the beautiful Demon Princess Jessica.” “You don't have to keep saying beautiful.” “I don't have to do anything, I wanted to do it.” Youko said with a big smirk on his face. Jessica just stared at him for his use of her own words.

They had finished their dinner by now, and Jessica, and Youko both stood up. “The storm's passed by now, and my parents are probably very worried about where I am, so I should be going now.” Jessica walked towards the door, with Youko close behind her. They both went outside, and stood on the front porch of Youko's keep. “Well thank you again for your hospitality. I don't know how to repay you, but I'll figure something out. Goodbye now.” With that Jessica turned around and attempted to leave, but as soon as she turned around Youko was there. “How did you…?” “I'm pretty fast.” Youko had backed Jessica up against the wall, and had his arms against the wall so Jessica couldn't escape. Youko's face got very close to Jessica's. Jessica's eyes widened, and her heartbeat quickened, as a slight blush crossed her face. “I know how you can repay me.” Youko said in a deep whisper. Than Youko's lips pressed firmly against Jessica's. A small moan escaped Jessica's throat. Jessica could feel her strength draining, and her knees buckled. Lucky for Jessica she didn't fall; instead Youko pushed his whole body against hers to keep her up against the wall. This caused a moan from both Jessica, and Youko. Youko finally pulled head away from hers, and than he slowly pulled the rest of his body off of Jessica's allowing her time to regain her balance. They were both out of breath. Youko than put his hand on her cheek, and said “Come back tomorrow Princess.” Jessica couldn't form any words to respond to Youko's request/command. Youko didn't wait for a response; instead he just kissed her gently on her forehead and left to go back inside. Jessica finally got enough strength back to start walking home.

{END OF FLASHBACK}
“Gosh you we're a real pervert Kurama. Or would you rather me call you Youko?” “Kurama is fine. Youko is only used when I'm a full demon. Yes I know I was, and I'm pretty ashamed of it. All the horrible things I did, but maybe that's just my human heart talking.” “I don't understand, this whole demon/human thing.” “I'll explain it a little bit. I'm still the same person I was 15 years ago, just influenced with this human heart. Once I get rid of my human body, or find a way to transform back to my Demon form I'll go back to the way I was. But understand I was changed a lot by you, in the five years that we knew each other. In those years I never looked at another women, or killed one, so the only really bad thing about me was that I was still a notorious thief, but everyone has their little flaws. Stealing was one of my biggest passions, and I couldn't get rid of it, but you never really tried to stop me.” “What does the human heart do to you?” “It's causes me to be more polite, and caring for others. It makes me show mercy, and respect. It just plain makes me have more human characteristics. Its like when I was a demon I would be perverted to others, but I could only act like a gentleman around you, and now I act like a gentleman around others, but I can only act perverted around you. It's the difference between Demon, and Human I guess. Humans have much more morals, and values, than Demons.” “You don't act very perverted towards me.” “I could, if you wanted me to.” Kurama said with a smirk. “No, no that's ok.” “I may not act perverted towards you, but believe me, its in my mind.” “Thank you so much Kurama for that lovely information.” Jessica said sarcastically and laughed. “Well we've been talking for about an hour, and I don't know about you but I'm tired.” “Yeah I'm tired.” Kurama hugged Jessica tightly, and kissed her on her forehead, and said “Goodnight Princess.”

A/N: That was a lot for me. I guess I was just feeling creative. Well next chapter is hopefully going to up in a few weeks, but I'm not promising anything.
