Chapter Two
*I don't own Yu Yu Hakusho but it would be freaking fantastic if I did. I just own Rika and all other original characters. Please review so I can know what works and what doesn't.

Yusuke ran down the street with the others behind, wondering what a demon would want with Rika. Well, whatever this asshole wanted, Yusuke was going to make sure he didn't get his hands on his baby cousin. No one would ever hurt her, not even Koenma. He'd make sure of it.
“Yusuke, where are we going?” Kurama called from behind him.
“To see an old bat” he replied.

*** Downtown

Rika took the whistling teakettle off of the stove and poured the tea into two porcelain cups. She grabbed the tray and walked back into the living room with the tea and cookies. “The tea is ready Mrs. Fujima. “ On Tuesdays she spent a few hours with old Mrs. Fujima, playing chess and talking with the lonely woman. It was just one of the few odd jobs she did to help support herself, as well as Yusuke and her aunt.
“Thank you my dear. I'm afraid I've taken your rook.” The old woman smiled sweetly as she sipped her tea.
Rika laughed, knowing full well that Mrs. Fujima cheated at chess. But she loved the crafty old woman. “I suppose I'll have to cope with that loss.” She was just about to take Mrs. Fujima's knight when the doorbell rang. “One second, I'll just get the door” She got up and saw Mrs. Fujima inch one of her pawns off the board. Rika grinned; she loved the woman's antics. She was reaching for the door knob when it suddenly burst open, wood chips flying everywhere. Rika stared openmouthed as she saw Yusuke on the other side of the broken doorway. And she saw red instantly. “Yusuke Urameshi, explain yourself this minute! What the hell do you think you're doing? Damn it! How the hell am I supposed to explain this to Mrs. Fujima?”
“We have more important things to think about right now. Let's go.” Yusuke grabbed her hand and tried to lead her out the door.
Rika pulled her hand from his. “I am not going anywhere with you, you asshole. You're going to explain to Mrs. Fujima why her front door is in pieces!” She glared at Yusuke until he blushed in embarrassment. Rika noticed a carrot top as well of two others in the doorway behind Yusuke.
“My goodness! What's happened?” Rika turned to see Mrs. Fujima in the hallway, staring at the door lying on the ground. Then Mrs. Fujima looked up to see Yusuke standing in the foyer looking sheepish. “I should've known. Yusuke Urameshi, what in God's name have you done to my door?”
“Mrs. Fujima you know you're not supposed to be up with your cane. I will take care of this. Kuwabara, you and your friends come inside while I call a repair man.”
“Sorry Rika, I couldn't stop him.” Kuwabara apologized with red cheeks.
Rika smiled at him and hugged him. “I know. Once Yusuke gets an idea in his head, there is no stopping his idiocy.”
“I'm right here you know!” Yusuke shouted angrily.
Rika threw him a withering glare and stalked off to the kitchen with Mrs. Fujima in tow to call a repair man.

Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei waited in the flowery living room waiting for Rika to finish her phone call.
Kuwabara plopped down on the old sofa. “Old Mrs. Fujima hasn't changed one bit, huh Urameshi?”
“Can we get out of here? The windbag annoys me” Hiei scoffed.
“In a moment Hiei.” Kurama placated. He looked at the snapshot of the girl and then looked back at Yusuke. They shared a striking resemblance. He was too cautious to dismiss it as coincidence.
Rika came into the living room, frustrated with the rude repair man she had just talked to, and noticed how oddly Kurama looked at her. Well, someone was bound to notice the resemblance between her and Yusuke sooner or later. She'd deal with Hiei and Kurama later. How would they react when they found out about her and her connection with Yusuke?
“Yusuke you are going to call and apologize to Mrs. Fujima later. I brought her upstairs for a nap and her daughter is coming over to be with her. So let's take this someplace else.” Rika went to closet and got her bag. She walked outside without waiting for the others and went across the street to the park. She immediately headed for the swings and sat on one. Yusuke, simply falling back into habit, got behind her and began to push her. “You should know better than to startle Mrs. Fujima that way; she's not a young woman anymore.”
“Yea, I know that. But we've got important things to talk about” Yusuke pushed her higher on the swing set. Kuwabara sat on the other swing, but for some reason Hiei and Kurama kept their distance, watching her and Yusuke with odd looks on their faces.
Rika used the momentum of the swing and jumped off of it, landing a few feet in front of Kurama and Hiei in the sand.
“ I sort of figured that out when these two walked through the door.” She looked over her shoulder at Yusuke, a mischievous look in her eyes. “Aren't you going to introduce me to your friends?”
Yusuke groaned and Kuwabara started laughing so hard that he fell off the swing. Kurama felt very much out of the loop. So he stepped forward in order to introduce himself. “My name is Suichi Minamino. And this is Hiei . I'm very sorry that we startled you , but there is an urgent matter that we need to discuss with you. “
So he was as polite as Yusuke had said. “No worries. I blame Yusuke, not you. Now what on Earth could Koenma want with me?” she asked, enjoying the look on Kurama's face.
Kurama was in shock. How did the girl know Koenma? How could she, unless….he looked at Yusuke who had a very sheepish look on his face.
Rika nodded. “Yes he told me about you. And Hiei. Now why are Spirit Detectives busting down an old lady's door in order to talk to me?”
Yusuke was about to say something when he saw something out of the corner of his eye. A kid, about nine years old, was staring at them with a cold look in his eyes. He was giving off the strangest feeling. Rika looked at Yusuke then also noticed the boy. His aura was red, not a good color for a human to be giving off.
“Hey, whatcha lookin at kid?” Kuwabara yelled.
The boy smiled, an evil chilling smile, then drew a dagger out of his shirt and threw it at Rika.
“Look out!” Kurama grabbed her by the shoulders and forced her to the ground with him.
“That's it, kid or no kid you're going down!” Yusuke charged the boy and punched him. The boy fell and Yusuke held him on the ground with his foot. “Pipsqueak”
She almost couldn't think as she felt Kurama's weight on top of her. But the she noticed the boy's aura getting darker. Rika untangled herself from Kurama and walked over to the small boy with the demon red aura. He was squirming and wiggling, trying to escape Yusuke's hold on him. She knelt beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder. She let her energy flow out of her and into him. His struggles to get free stopped and he became still. Closing her eyes, Rika pushed at the force controlling the boy until she felt it give way.Yusuke let him go and went over to stand by Kurama and the others. Kurama had a bewildered look on his face as Rika healed the little boy.
“Yusuke, who is that girl, and why have you told her about us?” he asked as the girl began to glow blue.
“Yes, explain Detective” Hiei ordered, his voice threatening. How much did this human girl know about him?
“ Her name is Rika Urameshi” Kurama and Hiei both looked at him. “She's my cousin.”
