~Flashback Begin~

Crimson eyes look up into a pair of icy blue ones. The crimson orbs blink as the little baby is lifted by the bearer of the icy blue eyes. Soft humming hits the baby girl's ears and soon, she falls into slumber. When she woke, she was in a hut, and the woman who took her was sitting beside her. The baby cooed, tilting her head. Then a sound of a cry fills her ears and she crawls out of the hut, into the cold. She then realized where she was. The Island of Koorime. Her eyes stray to where she heard the sound and crawled to it. She saw a Koorime giving birth, first a baby girl, then…. A baby boy?! But isn't that forbidden? The next second, the boy was snatched away and the mother started to cry and ask for her baby back. After a bit of arguing, the lady who had taken her was handed the baby and was told to toss the boy off the edge of the island. She blinked as she watched the baby be tossed to his death. Her crimson eyes widened and she crawled quickly to the hut.

18 Years after that

“I cant believe she did that…. I cant believe I stayed here all this time!” The girl, who's name was now Yumi, says to herself. Then Yukina, the daughter of the woman who had her son tossed off, walked into the hut, startling Yumi. “Oh Yukina-chan.. Don't startle e like that.” Yumi and Yukina both chuckle softly. Not 5 years ago, Hina, Yukina and the Forbidden Child's mother, had killed herself. But, Yumi didn't want to think of that.

“Yumi-san…. I remember you saying you were leaving. And going to the Makai ground..” Yukina softly says, looking to the white, snowy ground.

Yumi nods, then blinks. “Why do you ask, Yukina-chan?”

“Take me with you… I want to find my brother…”

“I.. don't think I can do that…” Yumi says, then Yukina nods and walks out to her own hut.

 

~End Flashback~

 

Yumi sat in a Ningen home. “I wonder what Yukina ended up doing….” The 500 and some year old shape-shifter says to herself. “I just hope she's alright….” She then looked to the clock and blinked. “Oh shit! I'm gonna be late for that damned thing called school!” she hurriedly gets the school uniform on and runs to get to her school.

When she got there, the bell had just rung and she runs to her first class. And, as usual, girls were surrounding a red headed man. A beautiful red headed man, but she didn't worship him like all the other girls in the school. She moves to a seat and sits down, nodding when the teacher tells her not to be late again.

The school day goes by quickly and she was trying to be the last one out. But she wasn't the only one. The man with the fan club was trying to be last as well. Yumi was walking through a hall, towards the door when something hit her. She falls to the ground, grunting and holding her head. When she looked up, she saw the red hair. A hand reaches down to her and she takes it, using the mans help up. “Thanks..” She mumbles.

The man nods. “I am so sorry, Miss…”

“Nakamura, Yumi.”

“Miss Nakamura.”

“Please.. Call me Yumi.” Yumi says, smiling just slightly. “And you are?”

“Oh, forgive my manners. Minamino, Shuuichi.” He gives a slight bow to her.

“Nice to meet you, Minamino-san.”

“And you, Miss Yumi.” Shuuichi says, giving another bow. “Is there anything I might be able to do? To make it up to you?”

“I'm fine, Minamino-san. Really.” Yumi insisted.

“Then at least let me walk you home?”

A soft sigh escapes her lips and then a chuckle. She nods then. “Fine..”

Shuuichi nods, then motions for Yumi to lead the way. Yumi nods and begins walking, Shuuichi soon catching up and walking beside her. Yumi glances to him, then chuckles. “So… Trying to be last to get away from your fan club?”

Shuuichi blinks, then nods with a chuckle. “Hai.. Guilty as charged,” Yumi chuckles softly, then jumps as a black clad figure jumps down in front of them. The new man looks to Yumi, then Shuuichi.

“Kurama…. Koenma needs to see you. Now.”

/Kurama? But.. That cant be.. No way…. Youko?/ Yumi's mind races. She just ignored it, then looked to Shuuichi. “I'll be fine. Go ahead and go see whoever it is this man says you need to see.” Yumi says, and then looks to the man, blinking. He seemed somewhat familiar to her. But she leaves as Shuuichi nods.

Shuuichi and the man walk off, then step into a portal. “Kurama, who was that?” The shorter man asks.

“Hiei, don't worry about it. And around other humans, call me Shuuichi. How many times must I ask that of you?” Shuuichi, other wise known as Kurama, says, then walks to the office of Koenma's. Hiei follows silently after.

In the office, two other men were waiting. “Yusuke, Kuwabara. Where is Koenma?” Kurama asks, walking up to the two while Hiei leans against the wall by the door. Koenma enters, telling Kurama that he is there and to not panic. Of course, he was being sarcastic. The meeting goes on, speaking about how a woman who had came to the Ningenkai from Makai. She is a shape shifter and is usually in her human form when in the Ningenkai. Koenma then went on to say that all her knew was that her human form had long brown hair. Koenma tells the Reikai Tentei that there is a Dark Tournament coming up real soon and that this shape shifter is pretty strong. He says that he thinks with a bit more training, this shape shifter would be a great asset to the team. Then, Koenma got a tape from an ogre showing pictures of the shape shifters human form. Kurama and Hiei then blinked as they noticed they just saw her. The two tell Koenma and then leave, trying to find Yumi.

Yumi stopped walking, then blinked. “Koenma…. I know who that is.. And if that short man called Shuuichi Kurama, then he MUST be Youko Kurama…. But… Oh my.. I cant let him find out I'm from the Makai… Koenma might be looking for me…… But for what? I never did anything wrong…” She started walking and soon came upon her house and went inside.

Hiei and Kurama had followed her scent, stopping at her house. “I guess this is it.. Her scent is everywhere… As is her Demon energy…” Kurama says, looking to Hiei.

“Hn…” Is all Hiei says. /Her energy.. Its almost as if I know it from somewhere…../ Hiei thinks, blinking and looked directly to Yumi's bedroom window.
