CHAPTER 9: ME? MARRY YOU?
“Hiei, this doesn’t make any sense,” said Yusuke.
“I know, but...” Hiei said. He then remembered that Botan was still here. “YOU!” he shouted.
Botan started to quiver in fear. She knew how harsh Hiei could be, but was he going to do to her?
“Where is she?” Hiei hollered, picking Botan up by her collar. “Why did he take her? How could you allow this to happen?”
“Hiei, control yourself!” Kurama ordered.
“NO FOX! I won’t lose Erika,” Hiei yelled.
Kurama smiled at Cat. The two of them knew how Hiei felt. All they had to do was get him to admit it. This was going to take a lot of guts and courage.
“Why? Is it that you are IN love with her?” Kurama asked.
Hiei didn’t answer. Of course he loved Erika, but was he really in love with her? He didn’t know and if he was in love with her, it’s not like he would admit it.
He then turned his attention back to Botan. “ANSWER ME GIRL!” Hiei ordered.
“I-I-I-I-I d-don’t k-k-know w-where s-she is. A-a-all I k-k-know was t-t-that he t-took her. I-i-i-if I-I-I t-t-tried to s-s-stop him, I w-w-w- would h-have b-been thrown into a s-s-spirit j-jail c-cell,” Botan stuttered. She was even more afraid if Hiei than usual.
Her response made Hiei even angrier. “SO IT WAS YOUR SKIN OR HER’S, HUH? AND YOU CHOSE YOUR SKIN! HOW SELFISH!” he yelled. “I SHOULD KILL YOU FOR THIS!” he pulled out his Katana.
Botan bowed at Hiei’s feet. “Please do not harm me. I was afraid, I’m sorry,” she pleaded.
Cat sensed the great danger and had to stop it. “Hiei, killing her won’t help us find Erika. Let’s go back to Genkai’s and strategize,” she suggested.
Hiei put his katana away. “Fine, but she comes too,” he said. Hiei was so disgusted with Botan that he couldn’t even say her name.
Yusuke picked her up and through her over his shoulder. Hiei would have done it, but he could barely look at her. He could not believe how selfish she was. Even Hiei wouldn’t have done that. Hiei may be a thief, but he would risk his lives for his friends, yes even Kuwabara.

Erika began to stir. She slowly opened her eyes. Fortunately, the handcuffs were off. Unfortunately, she was in a worse situation. She was now in some sort of jail cell. She had no idea where she was, but she did remember what happen.
“KOENMA! LET ME OUT OF HERE!” she hollered. No one heard her though. She was all alone. Well, she wasn’t exactly alone. She still had Hiei’s tear gem. At the time, she forgot about it as she was afraid and angry. Afraid that she would never see Hiei again and angry that Koenma would go back on his word without warning.
‘I want to know how? How could Koenma go back on his word? How could he do this to me and Hiei? I never wanted to see anyone’s face except Hiei’s so badly. I just want to see him and know that everything will be alright’ Erika thought. All she could do was think and wonder.
(Genkai’s dojo)
Since Hiei was still disgusted by Botan, he had Kurama tie her up when the got back to the dojo. To make matter, well I wouldn’t call them worse...actually, I don’t know what to call them because they aren’t helping either. Anyway, instead of sitting on the window sill like he usually did, Hiei was pacing back and forth. He couldn’t stand waiting here, when Erika was in danger.
Kuwabara just stared at Hiei in a confused way. He couldn’t figure out why Hiei was acting like this. Cat, Kurama, Yusuke, Keiko, and Genkai all knew what was wrong with Hiei. He was in love with Kurama’s sister and didn’t know how to control his emotions. For once, Hiei was in love and that same person was in love with him. He had no idea what to do.
Finally, he spoke, “Where can we find him?” he asked. Everyone could tell that Hiei didn’t want to say Koenma’s name either.
Everyone thought hard, yes even Kuwabara, surprise; surprise. (A/N: *dodges a piece of flaming trash from a Kuwabara fan-girl* HA! MISSED ME! *dodges another piece* AH HIEI PROTECT ME!)
Soon Cat jumped up with a smile on her face. “I’ve got it!”
“What?” Hiei asked.
“My friend, Lance,” said Cat. “He knows about everyone and everything in Makai, Ningenkai, and Renkai.”
“If it will help me to get Erika back, then I guess he is worth asking,” said Hiei.
“Hiei, you are in love with her. You want her. You need her. Don’t deny it because it is true,” said Genkai.
Hiei was beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable. “Yea, I like her, maybe even love her, but I’m not in love with her,” he said.
“That’s a lie Hiei and you know it,” said Kurama. “You are in love with her.”
“WHAT? Hiei’s in Love? (A/N: Hence the title)” Kuwabara asked in shock.
“Hn, no. Kurama is over exaggerating,” said Hiei.
“Few,” Kuwabara said in relief. “For a second there, I thought Shorty actually had real feelings.”
For once, Hiei didn’t say anything. Did he really have emotions like this? Did he have to say anything? Does he really love Erika? Was he ready to make her his? All this and more was going through Hiei’s mind.
“If you need me, I’ll be outside,” said Hiei as he left and jumped into his favorite tree.
“Yup, he’s in love,” said Yusuke, also getting up.
“So, Cat, while you are out, do you think you can find out more about this Hitagora guy?” Kurama asked.
“Yea, but it may have to wait until Erika is safe again,” said Cat.
“Alright, well good luck Cat,” said Kurama.
“Thanks,” and with that, Cat kissed Kurama and left.

Erika was now pacing back and forth. She had nothing better to do. Besides, she was trying to figure out where she was as this place didn’t seem like a normal spirit jail cell.
Luckily for her, her question was about to be answered. Koenma and his father were walking down to her cell.
“King Enma and Prince Koenma, what a pleasure,” she sneered.
“I bet you are wondering why you are here?” King Enma asked.
“Yes, I am. This place doesn’t look like a normal spirit jail cell,” said Erika.
“You are in my castle. Well actually, you are in a dungeon to be precise,” said the king.
A million new questions flew into Erika’s mind.
“I thought I was arrested,” she said.
“You are and this is your punishment,” said Koenma.
“What kind of punishment says that I have to be in the dungeons of King Enma?” Erika asked.
“The punishment of love,” said Koenma.
“Okay...I’m confused,” she said.
“Erika, you are to be the princess of the underworld,” said King Enma.
“In order for that to happen, you must marry me,” replied Koenma.
“ME? MARRY YOU?” Erika hollered.
