Sorry about the short last chapter. I didn't realize it was a page shorter than the others…

“Wakey wakey, Hiei! Time to get up!”
Hiei groaned, his eyes flickering open, his fingers flexing in anticipation of wringing the neck of whoever slammed him on the head and caused this horrible headache. The image in front of his face was blurred- his eyes focused. So did the image.
Hiei screamed, a yell or horror and pure rage. He threw himself backwards- only, he was laying on his back, so, instead, he fell off the couch. Kuwabara's couch.
Kuwabara pulled back, his face being what Hiei had screamed at. “Well, it woke him up,” Yuske commented, laughing. “I kinda feel sorry for him, though. Kuwabara, your face is not something that some one wants to wake up to. Yukina, can you heal him now that he's conscious?”
The ice demon smiled, Hiei noticing his sister for the first time. He felt an odd peace tug at him as she neared, remembering those years he spent looking for her for the sake of seeing her, and the time he spent watching her for the sake of watching her. She placed her hands on his head, and he noticed only the coolness entering his body, not the nagging feeling that whispered for Kurama, not the annoyed feeling that his sister should not be a Kuwabara's house, not the scared feeling that demanded his should glance at the window to check for huge snakes with the torsos of beautiful women, or the feeling that something was wrong with Jin who was not…

Hiei woke up some time later, feeling strangely refreshed and disturbed. He sat up, groaning, his head aching slightly. Glancing around, he noticed Kuwabara, asleep in an overstuffed chair. Then he noticed Yukina, asleep and sprawled across Kuwabara's lap.
He didn't know whether to laugh, kill Kuwabara, or both at the same time. No, he mused silently, Yuske would probably say its still not justified.
“Oh, you're up,” Yukina muttered, yawning, blinking, and doing all of the typical “oh, it's morning already?” things that humans (and demons) do. “Sleep well, Hiei?”
He scowled at her, refusing to answer the sister that had just woken up in Kuwabara's lap. Kuwabara! Yuske and Jin he might be okay with- he'd even be a little happy if Yukina and Kurama…
Kurama. Where was Kurama?
Gone.
Gone.
Gone, gone, gone.
Taken.
Hiei felt fresh outrage, this time not directed at Kuwabara- at least not directly. He hated the world, he loathed the very air, and he despised Goouna.
He looked up and realized Yukina and Kuwabara where staring at him. They where all staring at him. Yuske, Yukina, Jin, Botan, Kuwabara, Kuwabara's sister, even Kurama's little sister.
“You know, Hiei,” Yuske said, carefully watching the dangerous fire demon, “You're going to have to get over the fact that people form relationships and begin to like each other over time-“
“Like I care,” Hiei snarled, furious with himself. “Yukina and Kuwabara can go at it all night long before I care. Where is Kurama?”
They all stared at him, surprised still. “Kurama?” Jin repeated numbly. “Well… we think he's dead.”
Hiei stared back at then for a few moments, numb with shock. Kurama was not dead. He could not be dead. He was not. He was not. He was not. He couldn't be.
Could he?
