[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
Wow! So many reviews after uploading chapter 3! Okay to it was only two, but still…reviews are the lifeblood of an up and coming writer! -dramatic pose- Who to thank…
sesshys numba1 gurl & KawaiiKekeChan!
^.^ I love it when the same people review again. Let's see…school is a drag, I always thought Hiei might inadvertently let his guard down after sex (so cute!), I dunno how you missed chapter two, but look you got to read two chapters Keke-chan! And…this should be a fast enough update for you all.
Now for the sad part: this is the final chapter. I know, way short, but I feel that I can't add anything more because it has to go in the sequel. I'll try to make that longer, but this was like 104 pages on paper. I'm very happy with how this came out, and if you all can get the different feelings I'm trying to get across in this fanfic, then I'm very happy.
-Crickets chirping-
Okay, that was long rant… blame all the manga I read last night. Anyway, enough of that enjoy the final chapter! Oh yeah, Taiyou means sun/solar.
Warnings: Lemon, angst, and character deaths. (you all knew it was coming.)

Metal clanged and clanged again as sparks bounced off the cold stonewalls. Hiei dodged a strike from Shigure, beads of his sweat getting sliced instead. He twisted his body and stabbed his sword upwards; if Shigure didn't move he'd get a sword in his ribs. Shigure sidestepped and kicked at Hiei's neck. Hiei deflected it with his sword and sliced Shigure's arm, leaving a bloody lien from his wrist to his shoulder.
Shigure gave a feral grin and both fighters knew that not only was this going to be the last training session, but also only one person might make it out alive. Shigure circled around Hiei until he became a blurry circle and Hiei's eyes moved from left to right to keep an eye on him. Shigure suddenly attacked and Hiei blocked it with his sword but the blade slid off and pierced Hiei's leg.
He grunted with pain and stabbed out at Shigure's neck. Making the other jump back and remove his sword from his leg. Hiei's injured leg shook a little while blood soaked his pants leg, but Shigure wasn't that much better off. As if to add to the already turbulent atmosphere there was a clap of thunder outside and the rain started to fall heavily, hitting hard on the wood of the tree. This only distracted them for a moment before they resumed fighting, their bodies and swords a blur. Hiei suffered a slice to his arm and responded by attacking Shigure's other arm.
Hiei kept attacking, knocking Shigure back with his weapon and into the tree, and he heard the all too familiar noise of wood creaking. Bits of wood fell down to land around Shigure and Hiei briefly wondered if the other was going to get back up. He heard a chuckle, but Shigure still didn't move. Hiei suddenly realized it was because a large piece of the bark was piercing Shigure's stomach, disabling him of movement. Not to mention that the wound looked fatal.
“You've improved far more than I thought you would.” Shigure said. “Am I supposed to take that as a compliment?' Hiei asked. “Take it however you wish. Now I'm sure you have better things to do than stare at me right? You might want to hurry up, it sounds like it's raining harder.” Shigure answered. Hiei scoffed quietly and left in a blur. He managed not to get too wet on his way back and the koorime began stripping on his way towards Kurama's room.
He was tugging off his shoes with one hand while opening the door with the other and was slightly annoyed to find Taiyou on his bed. “Get off.” Hiei said gruffly, tossing his wet clothes on a chair. The servants would get it eventually. Taiyou opened one eye and said, `I'll be gone by the time you get out.' Hiei looked at the fox for a second longer before going into the bath.
A much warmer and slightly pink-skinned Hiei returned to see Taiyou's words were true and his soggy clothes were gone. He walked over to Kurama's closet and rummaged around for clothes in his size. They had gone shopping for some clothes for him, but he couldn't remember where his mate had put them.
That thought made him pause even as his hand closed around one of his newly bought outfits. It was true that they had marked each other while they had been having sex. It was also true that Hiei cared about the fox; strongly enough to even call it love. Hiei chuckled while he pulled out the outfit. It was funny how it was so much easier to say he loved Kurama in his mind than to his face.
Hiei tugged the top on and pulled up the pants. After walking over to a mirror he had to admit that Kurama had an eye for fashion. The top and pants were a deep purple color with a golden dragon running from the top of the shirt to the end of the pants, the tail curling around a pant leg. On the back was a pair of wings 8n the same shade, each wing completely outstretched and encompassing the entire back of the shirt.
Hiei looked over his shoulder to see the design on his back for himself and smirked. He walked over to the bed and sat down, watching as one of the walls changed to make room for a circular window. The rain beat against the newly made pane and the sound was very relaxing to Hiei's ears.
He stifled a yawn even as he lay down on the bed, not taking his eyes off the window. That was exactly how Hiei fell asleep minutes later, face still towards the window and waiting for Yoko to return.
---
It wasn't raining where Yoko and Kuronue were m, nothing but cloudy skies and a fierce wind that threatened to knock you over. Both thieves lay in wait behind a line of trees, waiting for the right moment to move. “You sure about this Kurama? This is a lot to give up.” Kuro asked, looking over at his old friend. “I'm sure. Hiei's become an important thing in my life now and I want to be able to spend more time with him.” Kurama replied.
Hiei had become important to him over the past months, almost more important than his life of thieving. The other had touched him in ways no other demon-or human for that matter- had, both physically and spiritually. It was somewhat cliché to say, but Kurama really felt like he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Hiei. “Didn't know you were one for mushiness Kurama.” Kuro teased, laughing softly.
“I'll keep that in mind when you fall in love with someone,” Yoko said. “Like that'll ever happen.” Kuro replied. Both demons laughed and Kuronue raised an imaginary glass to toast. “To our last heist.” The bat demon said, trying not to laugh. Kurama scoffed and said, “To our last heist.” They looked out from behind the trees to see that it was time to go: there was a gap in the guard line due to a shift rotation. The two raced out from behind the trees and quickly silenced any guards that tried to sound the alarm. With the help of the clouds the shadows increased in size, creating more places for the thieves to hide.
Once inside the inner sanctum of the building, the two split off to go down separate hallways. The one on the right, which Kuro had gone down, led to the main treasure. The hallway to the left, however, only led to the greenhouse. But it was within this greenhouse that the greatest treasure was stored, which was exactly why Kurama went that way. The moment he stepped foot in the greenhouse, the plants came alive, the grass moving beneath his feet like a verdant wave.
Grass and vines tried to wrap around the fox's ankles and ensnare him, but Yoko broke free and began to run. He silently called his whip into his hand and deflected any attacks from the greenhouse, from the tree branched to razor-sharp laves. He flipped over a fallen tree, suing his hands to help, and kept moving once his feet hit the grass. Soon enough he reached the end of the greenhouse and a door was merged with the wall, made entirely of plant materials. There was a keyhole in the center and Kurama looked around for the key to open it, as the grass waves grew more turbulent. He finally found it in the form of an aquamarine flower, but when he reached or it, it scurried away. `Just what I needed today.' He thought.
Kurama suddenly twisted his body to narrowly avoid a slash from a vine. It cut his clothes instead and made a rip from the hip down to the end of his outfit. Kurama made a face before back flipping to dodge another attack, twisting in mid-air and striking the wind with his whip, cutting it cleanly in two. He landed right in front of the flower and hastily picked it up before it could get away. It immediately turned into a key and Yoko rushed over to the door to unlock it. One of the grass waves suddenly flattened, which caused the fox to lose his balance and tumble headfirst into the door.
Thankfully he used his hand to brae himself against the door and with the other unlocked it. He door dematerialized and Kurama pulled out some seeds, dropping one to create a lamp-like flower that glowed brightly. He continued this as he walked and only stopped once he saw that the next area was brightly lit. Kurama out his seeds away and cautiously stepped inside, alert eyes looking everywhere. There were nine stones, each one suspended above a dark pit and impossibly farther than the average jumping distance.
For the most part it seemed pretty straightforward: jump from stone to stone to get to the other end. But Kurama knew differently; there was no way that it would be this easy. He looked at each stone carefully and the ropes that supported it above. Then he looked at both of the sidewalls and a light smirk formed on his face.
There were small holes drilled onto both walls, only big enough to fit a dart. You wouldn't be able to find it unless you knew exactly what you were looking for. In addition to that, Kurama could hear hissing from below the stones in the pit and above where the ropes were, which meant that there were snakes and flamethrowers, respectively. `Sometimes I wish they would make these traps harder.' Kurama thought.
He made sure he had a tight grip on his whip before jumping onto the first stone in the bottom left. The stone adjusted to his added weight and as expected, darts shot out from the walls, their tips shining with poison no doubt.
Kurama jumped to the stone diagonal from him and threw the end of his whip towards the dark hole where the ropes ended. It caught on the bar hidden there and he swung over the stone, landing in the middle. Kurama looked around to make sure he was going the right way and knew he could relax on one of the few safe stones.
The reason why he didn't jump towards the stone in the bottom right, even though it was closer, was because of the rope. Upon closer inspection, it would be found that the rope was frayed and damaged, barely able to the stone up on its own. This had nothing to do with rats or time, but it had been done on purpose. One step on that stone and Kurama would have fallen to his death.
And Kurama wasn't known for being a master thief by making mistakes. Now he had three voices: to go the stone diagonally left of him, the one diagonally right or straight ahead. Most would think that going straight would be the best plan, since it was the easiest way to the door. That was exactly how the trap worked.
`The right way has an unstable stone and straight ahead has flames. Left is again.' When Kurama landed on the new stone it began to quake and he only had a second or two to leap to a different stone before spikes appeared where he had been standing. Her landed on the straight stone for a second before using his whip to swing through the doorway, flames erupting behind him.
Kurama leaned against the wall and glowed back at the trap. Stones were brunt, darts were everywhere, and he could hear angry hissing from the snakes that had gotten some pieces dropped on them. “Okay, so maybe that didn't go exactly as planned…” Yoko mumbled. As he walked down the passageway, he wondered how Kuronue was doing.
Somehow, someway he had a feeling his lascivious friend was dealing with a woman. That thought made him chuckle until he glanced down to see that his clothes were burnt at the end. “Goddamn it…” He muttered.
---
Kuronue hummed happily to himself as he picked up a handful of gems. So much to steal, so little time. He stuffed the gems into his bottomless bag (no really it was bottomless) and kept walking stuffing priceless items as he went. No doubt he got the easier room, but Kurama was more equipped against the defenses in the greenhouse than he was.
Just as he was better off dealing with the charms and spells that were in this room. He had removed most of them and had actually been a little flattered when one spell involved pendulums that were similar to his won.
'It seems that I have a fan' He had thought at the time. He neared and ice green emerald and frowned when his reflection winked at him from within the jewel. Kuronue picked up the jewel, but quickly dropped it once he felt how frigid it was.
He winced when the gem cracked in half, eyes narrowed as a green mist poured out. There was feminine laughter and a woman appeared, clothed in green jewels. “Well, what do we have here? You're cute than the last thief that came in here. I wonder if you'll be just as fun to play with.” The woman said, her green lipstick sparkling. Just his luck that the true guardian of this place was a woman.
Oh well. He might as well roll with the punches, or kissed hopefully. The woman smirked and stepped away from the cracked emerald, twin daggers materializing, one for each hand. “Now, prepare yourse-ahh!” Kuronue had picked her up bridal-style and flashed her a charming grin.
“I love fighting as much as the next guy, but you're too cute to fight. Why don't we relax instead, I think I saw a golden bed somewhere…” Kuronue said, mumbling the last part. The woman's face flushed and she tried to wiggle her way free. “Don't talk nonsense. It's my job to keep you from stealing the items in here. I can't relax!” She snapped. Seeing as Kuro had no intention of letting her go, she moved her hand to strike at his neck, only to find that her daggers were gone. “Hey! What-“ “So what's your name? Mine's Kuronue, but you can call me Kuro.” Kuronue said. She huffed and crossed her arms. “…Tsubame.”
“So, can I call you Tsu-chan?' “No! Only Tsubame!” She snapped, moving from Kuro once he set her on the bed. Kuro chuckled and sat down a ways from her. “Don't you like me Tsu-chan?” Tsubame turned her face to hide the blush that covered her cheeks and huffed again. “It isn't about liking. We're supposed to be fighting. You're just weird.” Tsubame muttered. “Not the first time I've heard that.” Kuronue said, moving closer to Tsubame. “W-What are you doing?” She asked.
Tsu wasn't exactly comfortable with the fact that Kuronue's lips were getting closer and closer to hers. “I'm going to kiss you.” He replied, acting like it was something perfectly normal. “What?!” Tsubame's voice has gone up an octave and she moved back some. “Oh no you don't you lecher! Stay away from me!”
“'Lecher'? Now that's not very nice Tsu. What happened to the seductive woman earlier?' Kuronue asked, following her step by step. “That's part of the act! And didn't I say not the call me that? Hey! Are you listening to me?! LECHER!!!”
---
Kurama's ears twitched as he thought he heard someone yell `lecher'. `It didn't take Kuro too long to get started.' He thought with a sigh and a sweat drop. Yoko grimaced as he waded through the water; he really hadn't expected this area to end up swamp-like. A small good note was the water was clean and there were no biting insects. He pushed the reeds put of his way and concentrated on focusing on going in the tight direction. On the ceiling there were stars twinkling, but they didn't give much light.
Still, Kurama didn't create and more; he wasn't sure just what was living underneath the water's surface. He kept walking until he heard a humming sound and his ears swiveled to hone in on it. Even with his excellent night vision it took Kurama few seconds for his eyes to find what hid ears had heard. The humming seemed to be coming from within a patch of reeds and he made his way over to it, not liking the fact that something brushed against his leg.
It would be best if he got what he was looking for and left. He parted the reeds and was mildly surprised to see a large egg. Without any remorse he sliced the egg in half horizontally and knocked the top over. The waited until all the clear liquid inside the egg had dribbled out before grabbing the clear ball inside. And that was when he heard the hiss. Kurama slowly looked around without turning his head for the noise and amber orbs met serpentine ones.
The snake hissed again, tongue flickering out at the motion, and watched Kurama intently. No doubt it was pissed that he killed one of its eggs. Yoko moved his whip ever so slightly and the snake's eyes followed with the motion. `Things are about to get interesting.' He thought. Lightning fast, he lashed out at the snake's head, causing it to read back and hiss, baring its fangs. He jumped backwards and tucked the clear crystal in his clothes at the same time.
Yoko landed back in the swampy water with a splash and a couple ripples. He heard hissing again and ripples of water hit his legs right before Kurama dodged the snakes bite, one fang uncomfortably closer to his wrist. A drop of acidic poison fell from the serpent's fang to land in the water, turning that area of crystalline water blood red. Kurama continued his fight with snake all the while thinking of how much time he had left.
He had spent too much time with the traps as it was and there were probably guards running around everywhere. Yoko decided that the time for stealth was over plucked two seeds from his hair, standing still as he willed them to grow. The snake seemed pretty happy that it's prey had finally decided to stay still.
She hadn't had a decent meal in months and this new prey would provide food for herself and her reaming two children. Fangs bared, she surged forward, intending on eating Kurama in one bite, As she leaped at him wither her mouth outstretched, Yoko threw the plants that he had in his hand at her and jumped out of the way. The plants exploded with a brilliance of light and effectively blinded the serpent.
Kurama looked at it for am moment longer before sighing. He really needed a shower right now. It took him less time to leave than it did to go in and soon enough Kurama was back at the two hallways. He looked around, but didn't see Kuronue anywhere.
`Where the hell is he?' He thought. They didn't time for this, guards could be coming at any minute. And at the moment, he didn't want to fight any ignorant people paid to do their job. Kurama stalked down the hallway that Kuro had gone down and he kicked the door in.
Several things happened after that: a surprised squeal from some woman with green hair, a few choice swear words from his friend, and Kuro and the woman trying to cover themselves up. Yoko's eye twitched and an annoyed growl escaped him. “What the hell Kuronue?! We're in the middle of a heist, there's no time for that! Now get your ass up and move!” Kurama yelled. Kuronue grumbled and quickly redressed. “Sorry Tsu, I gotta go. Visit me sometime okay babe?” Kuro asked, quickly kissing his now girlfriend.
Tsubame nodded and the two thieves ran off. “I don't see what the big rush is, you saw I got all the loot.” Kuro muttered. “Oh, so you want a bunch of guards to come in and kill you while you're naked and unarmed.” Kurama replied sarcastically. They were almost home free, but a line of guards blocked their exit. “Stop thief!” One guard yelled.
Kuronue smirked and threw a tag at them, causing the ground to crumble under their feet. The thieves jumped over the newly-made hole and kept right on running,. They both grinned at each as they made it outside, laughing. “Damn, this was almost too easy!” Kuro exclaimed, smiling.
“Easy for you, you mean. You didn't have to deal with an angry greenhouse, traps, and a giant snake.” Yoko said. “You know you love the danger.” Kuronue said. “Hell yes.” Yoko replied. Guards were running behind them, trying to keep up with the agile thieves.
Some threw spears at the duo, but missed them completely. Kurama jumped over a log to land close to a patch of grass; Kuro did the same but landed right on it.
That's when it happened: bamboo poles fell down from above the tree leaves and pierced Kuronue's body, creating a grotesque fountain of blood. Kuro let out an anguished cry, which caused his partner to turn around. “Shit, Kuro!” Yoko yelled, running back for his friend. “No! Get out of here Kurama! You have to save yourself!” Kuronue yelled, trying to keep him friend from coming closer.
“I'm not leaving you behind!” Yoko said. He was almost close enough to do something to help. “You'll get caught too! Just get out of here Kurama! You have someone that's waiting for you to get back home!” Kuro winced as more of his blood poured out of the bamboo shoots. His friend's words made Kurama pause and for once he was struck with indecision. “What about Tsubame?” Kurama asked, no longer yelling.
Kuronue looked sad and he looked away. “I don't know. She'll be sad, but she'll understand, She knows the risk of this kind of life.” Kuro said. He chuckled softly and said, “It's funny, I've known her for less than a day and I already feel like I love her.” Kuronue then looked back at Kurama, eyes full of determination. “You need to get out of here Kurama. If you had any respect for me as your partner and as your friend, you'll go.” Kuronue said.
Kurama tried to keep the pain from his eyes but failed. He clenched his fists as he thought about what to do. He didn't have much time: soon the guards would be within striking distance. And as powerful as he was, he knew he couldn't defeat them all, as tired as he was. Kurama closed his eyes tightly and looked away, trying no to cry. He was about to lose his best friend… “I won't forget you.” Kurama said.
Kuro chuckled and replied, “I know you won't.” The bat eyes softened as Kurama turned around and ran off quickly. “Tsu-chan, sorry it had to end like this. I would have gladly lived out the rest of my life with you after this, but it seems that won't be possible. Kurama…I wish you the best of luck and happiness with your new mate. Maybe you'll name a kid after me.” Kuro said.
He chuckled softly before his breathing ceased and his eyes closed, a smile upon his face. The blood stopped pouring, but in its place was rain.
---
Numbness. That was all he could feel now. The rain poured down on is skin, but he didn't feel cold. Yoko was drenched from head to toe, but he didn't care. All he could think as: `I abandoned him.' That thought then had several responses to it The general half of it was that he hadn't abandoned his partner, the other told him to leave and he as just honoring a dying friend's last wish.
Then came the other half that whispered in his mind that he could have done something more. He could have cut the poles and carried his friend back home. `Why, so he could die in your arms?' The first voice asked. `Better than leaving him there to die!' The second yelled. The two voices continued to argue and Kurama eventually tuned them out. He hadn't even noticed that he was back inside the base until Taiyou nudged his leg.
`He will not be forgotten. But you blame yourself too much Yoko Kurama. You must let the `why's and the `if''s go and know that only fate can decided whose time it is to die. You need to stay strong do not let this get the better of you. Hiei needs you…and I do as well.' She said, her coat the beautiful reddish-orange again.
Yoko looked at her for a moment before he kept walking. Taiyou sighed softly and looked at Kurama sadly. `This will be the hardest time for them.' She then walked off, heading back to her room. Kurama opened the door to his room and almost smiled when eh saw Hiei asleep in his bed. He walked over to the sleeping koorime and laid down next to him, moving his arms to encircle the others waist. “Hiei.” Kurama called softly.
He didn't like how hollow and dead his voice sounded, but didn't care enough to change it. Kurama called his love's name two more times before he stirred. “What?' Hiei asked, turning around in the other's arms. Kurama didn't say anything and watched as Hiei's eyes roamed over his body, noticing the blood, mud, and rainwater on his clothes. Not to mention the few rips on them.
“What happened?” “Minor trouble with some traps.” Kurama answered flatly. There was something wrong; his fox didn't usually act like this. The fact that Kurama was muddy, covered in blood, and had a glazed look in his eyes wasn't helping either. “Where's Kuronue?” Hiei asked, finally realizing that he couldn't sense the bat's youki. Kurama lay there like he had been for the past fifteen minutes and it looked like he was thinking of answer. “Gone, he's gone.” The thief said hollowly.
In two quick motions, both of their clothes were gone and Kurama's hand was sliding up Hiei's leg. “You can't possibly want to do this after he just died.” Hiei said. It broke Kurama out of his trance-like state and he sighed softly. “I don't want to think about it now, it hurts too much. Please Hiei?” The fox asked. Hiei paused in answering; he hadn't heard the other beg for something in quite a while, not unless he was really horny. But, he knew that wasn't the case here. Still, it was getting harder to resist the look in Kurama's eyes, filled with pain at losing his best friend.
(Warning! Lemon. Hiei x Kurama in case you're wondering.)
Hiei sighed softly and moved closer to Kurama, kissing him. He deepened the kiss and had begun to turn onto his back to get comfortable when Kurama surprised him by changing their positions. “I want you inside of me.” Yoko whispered, to which Hiei nodded. The koorime did have enough sense to grab the bottle of oil next to the bed and put it near his leg. Yoko groaned loudly when Hiei roughly broke the kiss to suck on his mark.
“Ah…Hiei…” Yoko moaned out, shivering, Hiei trailed his hands down the fox's body, pausing to tweak hardened pink nipples, making his lover gasp. Hiei smirked against Yoko's neck before his hands wrapped around the other's impressive length, squeezing it before pumping it slowly. Yoko's head was tossed back in pleasure and he found it getting more difficult to breathe. “Hiei, n-no foreplay, just fuck me.” He said, managing to give his lover a sexy look with his golden robs.
He hissed when three oil-slicked fingers penetrated him. Hiei's lips wrapped around one nipple and began to suck, scraping the sensitive nub with his teeth, His fingers thrusted roughly in and out of Kurama's tight passage, making the fox moan loudly. “Ahnn…Hiei, more, more!” Yoko cried out, shuddering terribly. Hiei bit the captive nipple hard before lapping up the blood with his tongue.
“Unn…Hiei, give it to me already! Please, I need you so bad…” Kurama groaned out, a pleading tone to his voice. Hiei released his fox's nipple, but to before licking it a final time. “Beg me for it fox. If you want my cock in you so bad, then beg.” Hiei said, red eyes smoldering with lust. The fingers stilled inside Yoko's body and he knew he wouldn't receive any more pleasure until he did what his mate wanted.
“Please.” Yoko said softly. “You can do better than that Kurama. Beg.” Hiei ordered, squeezing his lover's erection roughly. “Ah! Please Hiei, I need your cock so bad! My tight hole needs your thick cock inside of me! Hiei, please take me, own me in every way possible! I want it so badly…” Kurama said, a blush upon his face. Hiei smirked and moved up to nibble on one of his lover's ears. “That wasn't so hard, no was it fox? I might make you beg more often.” Hiei said huskily.
Yoko gasped as Hiei's fingers left and was replaced by his cock, the thick length filling him completely. He moaned at the feeling and his moans grew louder as Hiei already began thrusting, not giving the other a moment to adjust. Kurama wasn't even sure what he was yelling right now, but whatever he was saying was only made Hiei fuck him harder. Someone's voice kept yelling' harder, do it harder!' and it took him a second to recognize it as his own.
Hiei grunted with the effort that it took to ram into his foxy lover, but he wouldn't slow down at all, Kurama felt unbelievably tight and every time the other's inner walls clamped around him, it only served to make him growl and want to fuck Yoko harder. “Damn fox…so tight.” Hiei said, speech failing him for the most part. Kurama panted as Hiei rammed into him, loving the feeling of his mate taking him. Was this what Hiei got to feel last time?
He might have to bottom again sometime soon if that was the case. He arched his back and cried out loudly Hiei's cock hit his prostate. “Ahh! Right there! Hiei, keep fucking me right there!” Kurama yelled. Hiei angled his trusts to keep hitting that one spot, relishing the screams it tore from Kurama's mouth.
Due to his slight height problem, he couldn't kiss Kurama and do him at the same time, but there was something else he could do. The thief's eyes rolled up into the back of head for a moment as Hiei fisted his erection ruthlessly, the pre-cum making an excellent lubricant. The bottle of oil had fallen off the bed anyway and he didn't feel like getting it.
Kurama's breathing was coming out in short pants now, the pleasure of having Hiei take him roughly was so exquisite that it as almost bordering on painful. And that was what he wanted: he wanted for it to hurt, making him forget about the newly made pain in his heart, if only for this moment in time. After all, they had already established that he had masochistic tendencies, even if it as only around Hiei.
He arched his back as he felt himself about to orgasm; part of him wanted for it to last long, wanted that ache between his legs and in his ass to grow until that was all he felt. In the end, it was the feeling of Hiei coming inside of him that made him come as well, nothing but a gasp leaving his lips. `Even when he tops, he still cones first.' Kurama thought dimly. He sighed softly when Hiei's limp penis slid out of him and the other licked away all traces of his earlier passion.
Hiei then moved so that they were face-to-face and moved to rest up next to his side. There was silence as both demons focused on returning their breathing back to normal, but it was Hiei who broke the quiet first. “Doing this didn't get rid of the pain.” He stated. Ruby orbs fixed themselves on the other's golden ones until Yoko sighed softly. “It still hurts, I feel like I betrayed him Hiei. I should have been able to save him, to keep him alive longer,.” He said, deadness creeping back into his voice. “And what could you have done? He told you to leave. You cannot control other's people's actions Kurama. Even you are not that powerful.” Hiei said.
He noticed Kurama's surprise and merely said, “Your mind is an open book when you are with me fox.” “I should be that powerful…I don't want anyone else to die.” Kurama whispered. `Not even you.' He thought.
“Would you keep me close then? Deny me freedom? Keep me under your close watch and care, making sure that nothing were to befall me?' Hiei asked, eyes glittering with anger. He snorted; “Then that would be no life at all for me fox. I'm above killing myself, but that would be the only option you would give me in that life. That or take your life instead. And that would be the same as being dead.” Hiei knew Yoko didn't want to hear this right now, but it needed to be said.
Especially before his fox did something drastic, he could tell his lover's mind was thinking of plans that would ultimately end in failure and his own destruction. The swordsman's eyes softened a fraction and he brushed one of his lover's ears.
“I am your mate Kurama. Do you think I am so emotionally frigid that I would not take notice of this pain plaguing you? I can feel the pain at losing your best friend, the guilt of laving him there to die, the anger at yourself for honoring his wish and at me for making you talk about this, the bitterness you have at me for not fully understating, and the love you have for me for being with you now talking about this and not dismissing it as nothing. I understand Kurama. Maybe not fully, but I do understand.” As Hiei finished, Kurama couldn't think of anything to say.
For as long as he had known the koorime, he had never talked for this long, or been this emotional. Several different emotions played on Yoko's face before a small smile took control. He held onto his mate, enjoying the feeling of the other's spiky black hair tickling his chin.
Words weren't need right now; they both understood each other well enough to know what they were saying now. Hiei was here, here with him and he as holding onto him as well. His heart was still beating, he as still breathing, Hiei was still alive. `Even if everything and everyone were to fade away, I still have you, don't I Hiei?' `Hn, you'll have to try harder than this to get rid of me Kurama.'
A soft chuckle was heard and Yoko could feel a small warmth of happiness penetrating the numbness that was trying to come back again. AS long as she had Hiei, things would be okay. No matter what he did, Hiei would still be there for him. He gently kissed the smaller's hair as he felt the other drift off to sleep. He really hoped that was so, he rally did. For both their sakes, he hoped so. `Forgive me Hiei.'

Kurama barely stopped himself from sighing, he took one last look at the sleeping figure on the bed Hiei was right, he knew there was nothing he could have done to change things, but he still needed to do this. It would be several hours until the sun rose and although his lover would normally be awake at this time, the smell the flowers around their bed emitted would keep the swordsman asleep long enough for what he meant to do.
As he reached up to touch the purple ribbon in his hair, he knew he shouldn't linger any longer. It would only make it harder to leave. While he knew this would not really avenge Kuronue's death, he also knew that he had no other choice but to do this.
This would be running away from his problems in a way and Hiei might hate him for this and yet he knew he couldn't stop himself if he tried. He had planned on doing this the moment he set foot in his room and saw Hiei on the bed; it was part of the reason he let Hiei take him.
He quickly turned away from his lover and left silently. Yoko Kurama could feel Taiyou's on him as e felt and he knew she knew what he was about to do. Once he was far enough away from the compound, he let himself become numb once again He couldn't le himself have any regrets about hid; he didn't once look back.
Soon enough he was at his destination and hollow golden eyes stared impassively at the fortress. It wasn't that impressive, but he didn't care. Whit no regard to stealth, he walked right through the entrance, cutting down any guards that tried to oppose him. He may want to die, but he wasn't going to make it easy.
Regrettably, he made it to his destination and ripped off the charms, ignoring the burn marks it made on his hand. He walked inside of the shrine after kicking the doors in and grabbed the scroll in the middle. He opened it and gave it a quick glance before closing it. “This was the one he wanted…the one I was going to give to him for his birthday.” Kurama murmured to himself.
“Thief!” Yoko turned his head the voice,. Golden eyes focused on what looked like a charm caster. He didn't bother to put the scroll away and turned to face the charm caster. “Do you wish to kill me?” Kurama asked The demon looked confused or a moment but it soon went away. Don't try to deceive me fox demon! Once I defeat you, my name will be the greatest in all of Makai!” “You can try.” Yoko said.

Hiei groaned softly as he rolled over, already beginning to wake up. It smelled good in here, was Kurama lighting those scented candles again? Hiei opened his eyes as he realized the bed was empty save for him. His eyes then narrowed, as he got out of bed, only bothering to put his pants on and grab his sword. “Damn it Kurama...” Hiei mumbled.
He had already begun to pick up the pace when Taiyou appeared in front of him. `You know it's too late to stop him.' She said. Hiei knew that, he knew the moment he woke up that his fox was gone. That didn't stop him from wanting to do something. He moved to open the door to the outside but found himself gripping the frame of the doorway instead.
“He didn't have to do this. He could have stayed.” Hiei said with his voice constricted by anger. `He would have still done it. What will you do now?' Taiyou asked. Hiei gripped the doorframe until it broke and growled softly. “I already told him: it will take more than this to get rid of me. He is my mate and mine alone. Death does not absolve him of our bond.” Hiei said. `And if by some chance he is alive?' Taiyou asked.
“Then he will pay for deserting me.” Hiei replied. He finally looked down at the fox to see she had his shirt and cloak in her mouth. He took them from her and left, moving at a fast pace. Taiyou sighed softly as she watched him leave, sitting in the doorway.
`I hate it when I'm right. This place should be fine without me, but that's not really important. Do not let yourself be blinded by your own emotions Hiei…nor you Kurama.' Taiyou thought to herself. The clouds parted over the base, sending down a stream of sunlight. Once it hit the base both it and Taiyou began to shimmer before fading entirely.
