WHY DID I
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Satron was in her room breathing hard and gasping for air. Hot tears rolled down her face. She was tired, considering what happened. She laid there thinking… why? Why did he do that? Why did he hurt me, he promised? Why would he do that? How could I let this happen? Why do I ask questions that I already know the answer too…
Flashback One Hour
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~
Satron was sprinting. She was running faster than she had ever run before. She had to get away. No, she needed to get away. Satron hoped that they did not come after her. Come after her…Ha! She knew they would, they always would. She could run to underworld and back. Hell, she had run to the ends of the world and they were there.
She was theirs. Whether Satron could accept that now or not they owned her. She thought of what they would do to her for running this time. However she could not stop. She was driven to keep going no matter how cold her feet got. No matter how tired she was. No matter how much her chest burned. There was no exception she could not rest… because of them. She came to an opening in the trees, and stopped. Dead stopped. Satron started to cry. Her body began to shake, her breathing irregular. She slowly turned around. She could sense them. They had found her again.
Kurama yelled “rose whip” his voice thundered through the air. Hiei licked his lips as he untied his bandana over his Jagan.
“If you come with us now Onna… we won't punish you this time” the words slipped out of his mouth without a second thought. His tone never changing, Satron did not know what to do. She had gone too far this time to turn back.
She stared at them forgetting how to breathe for a moment. Still weeping, Satron knew the truth. She knew she was no match for them, she always did. She thought Kurama had reach Hiei, before they went out looking for her. Hiei never backed down from punishing her. He would have chastised her there and then if it was up to him. However this time, she prayed Kurama was looking out for her. Even though she knew she did not deserve his pity.
She looked at Kurama sweet, caring, loving Kurama. The years with her had been extremely hard on him. He still loved Satron but he was no longer sweet, nor caring. His bright green eyes that she cherished so much looked dark and empty. She could sense she had screwed up. He loved her so much and she loved him. Unfortunately over the years people change. Sadly it's not always for the best. She used to go to him for anything and now it breaks his heart that Satron just ignores him. She glanced at Hiei, his eyes burned hotter and deeper by the second. She remembered a time when his gaze would make her melt. Now it just makes her freeze from the inside out.
All of the sudden Satron felt like God himself was against her; it began to pour down freezing rain. How dramatic this is, she thought. Her life could not get any worse. She slowly came to her senses, collecting what she could of herself. Satron gradually started to slide her feet, walking towards them terrified. Terrified that Kurama, the compassionate person would penalize her for her actions tonight, terrified that Hiei was already thinking of how he could torture her tonight. Just because he talked Hiei out of it, did not mean that he would have the same forgiveness. She saw how he could get, she knew better then to assume. Kurama recalled his rose whip showing signs of being merciful. Hiei sighed as he retied his bandana over the Jagan.
He ran over to Satron, grabbing her arm harshly, making her wince with discomfort. Satron could live with this for a few moments. He lifted her over his right shoulder. Satron hated when Hiei did that, it made her feel like a child. However she could not disagree with the way she was being handled, if she wanted to be treated like an adult she needed to behave like one. She was going to speak but Hiei sent her a mental image of him beating her and chaining her to the floor of her room if she did. He then smacked Satron on the ass, hard enough to make sure there was a bruise so she could not sit for a few days. Satron bit her lips trying not to make a sound, even if Hiei caused the noise, it would still be her fault. In short it would be the only reason he needed. Her blood shot eyes caught Kuramas' pale green ones. All she could see was disappointment.
They made it back to Genkai's temple dripping wet. Hiei didn't put her down he was not in the mood to play another chasing game. He stomped around the temple until he reached their room. Satron did not dare utter a sound, even as Hiei gave Satron another strong whack on her backside. He then dropped her on the bed, and walked out to the hallway without taking a second glance at the wet girl. He stood there in the hall way, Satron could not help herself she started to sob again. As Hiei watched her shed tears again, Kurama joined his side. Kurama shook his head he was so thwarted with her. They both stood there watching her like an exotic animal.
Satron began to shiver her wet clothes began to get the best of her. She got up slowly off the bed. Asking in a meek voice if she could change her clothes, they just glared at her. Satron felt alone, she knew what she had done was wrong. She understood that as a good mate she could not continue to behave this way. Satron recalled a time where they did not have any problems. Now she just feels like they hate her. She could feel their eyes smolder. Neither said a word, Kurama paced into the room over to her dresser never lifting his head to look at her. He pulled out a towel, brush and a red silky night gown, placed them on the dresser and walked back out to his previous spot.
“Why…why would she run? She knows better.” Kurama said shaking his head
“Satron has done this before and the same thing happens every time… maybe we are being to leant with her” Hiei stated
“Do not go into her mind to find out, Hiei it never fixes anything”
“Why not she won't talk if I command her.”
Satron tried not to hear their conversation, but she caught some words like run and mind. She put the towel in the chair and took off the damp clothes putting them in the chair to dry. She brushed her brown hair then pulled it back to place it in a braid. Satron could not figure out how it had gotten this bad again. She rubbed some rose milk over her chocolate colored skin wondering what had made her change, even though she knew the answer. Satron finished getting dressed, then slowly walked over to the bed and laid down. Hiei just looked at Kurama and said
“She shouldn't get away with this; you are making me look soft”
“You promised Hiei”
“I said that if she came with us, now we wouldn't punish her. As in both of us.”
Hiei ran through the door and latched it behind him. Kurama ran to the door banging on it yelling
“Let me in, don't Hiei”
But his yelling was faded out by Satrons' screams and begging.
“Please Hiei…. please stop….. I'm sorry… you promised….please stop“
“You promised, you promised. Please don't” He mocked her
“How many times did you say that to me? How many times Onna did you say that to your mate. I do not care what you have to say. I do not care what you want. I cannot believe a single world that comes out of your blubbering pathetic mouth. You are nothing but a useless toy that I can do what I want with. I should of killed you years ago wench“
The words cut through Satron like a dagger, each truthful yet spiteful word piercing her vital organs. Satron tried to back away from Hiei but she was soon pinned to the wall.
“Kurama please help”
She knew it was pointless to call for help. She had lost it; she knew she had gone overboard. As Satron started to shed more tears, she could not help but feel like she deserved more then what was coming to her. She stopped screaming but let her tears fall freely. She understood and knew what was coming next. She decided that even though she was afraid and regretful of what she had done, that she would accept her punishment gracefully. Hiei knew he had broken her; he released her from his hands. She stepped to the side and walked gracefully over to the bed crawling to the left side of their bed. He watched her for a second then started to walk over to her slowly. She knew by accepting what was happening that it would not stop him but it could make it less severe. Satrons voice creaked.
“Hiei, I'm I”
She could not bare to finish her sentence. His eyes were cold as usual. There was no love, no hatred; there was not emotion at all just emptiness. She was in for it now; she slowly took off her night gown and lay down face first on the bed. She then closed her eyes and waited for it to be over. Kurama was still outside trying the door, but soon the banging and screaming from Kurama stopped and it was quiet. The only thing to be heard was Satron's fear and Hiei's anger. Hiei wrapped his hand around her long brown hair and drug her closer to him on his side. Satron then said something she wishes she could take back.
“Stop, let me...”
Hiei slapped her across her face. She then burst into tears. She could never take a facial hit from him. He showed no emotion as she let out a whimper of pain. He climbed onto her chest. Satrons' fear had overcome her once more.
“Please don't I'll?”
She was cut off as he slapped her again and pulled some of her hair out. She cried in pain as she tasted the new blood in her mouth. She was used to the taste of blood. Kurama had struck her with that rose whip more than once for her to know what it tasted like.
“Kurama, please.” she thought
Hiei still said nothing. He stood up over her as he untied his pants.
“No Please No”
She managed to crawl from between his legs and to the end of the bed. Hiei calmly walked off the bed.
“Hiei Please not again........... Kurama”
She ran over to the window ceil the only place in the room she could reach. Hiei grabbed her and through her back onto the bed. She whimpered as she put her head between her knees.
“Please, Hiei”
He made his way back to the bed. He grabbed her legs and restraddled them.
“This is what you wanted”
He spread her legs and slid his hand higher and higher up.
“Hn. Tears are a feeble ningen emotion.”
She whimpered dreading what he might do.
“Oh don't cry.........This is what you wanted.”
“I'm sorry, my mate please don't do this.”
“Don't do this or don't do you”
He said as he placed his hand right inside her thigh. She could feel his hand pressing against her lady parts. She kicked and moved her head from side to side fighting. He retracted his hand and sat on her hips taking out his sword. He played with the blade in front of her face.
“You know Onna…you can be as mad at me as you want. But you are mine and if you kill yourself..... I will come to get you in the afterlife. Do you understand me wench”
She stared at him nodding her head Hiei still showed emotion at all. He took the blade and placed it at her throat slowly applying more pressure on it making her squirm.
But if I kill you ONNA”
She could believe the words that came out of his mouth. She knew it was no use screaming and crying more than she had already done would just infuriate him. She didn't know if she wanted to die or not. After all the years with him, with them she did not know what she wanted. She didn't look at him she just closed her eyes held her breath then said...
“Please, just let me die in Peace”
The doors flew open. Hiei quickly stood above her and rebuttoned his pants. Then he walked over to the window, pushed it open and jumped out. Kurama came in and looked at her .Didn't touch her just looked. He was dissatisfied. He knew she deserved it after what she did before. After all she had put them through. She did not know why he just does not let Hiei have his way with her.
Kurama walked out and thought she wouldn't run again. Not because of what happened in the forest but because of what Hiei had done to her. She probably couldn't run or sit for a week. Kurama left for a walk as usual. She thought it was funny that Kurama would try to stop Hiei. He never did, he would always stop himself first. When Hiei punished her Kurama stepped a side and said nothing and when Kurama punished her Hiei stepped aside and did nothing.
“ Why did I let this happen. How could I let this happen.”
Hiei came back in the room. Her body ached as he came toward her. She thought he was
back to do it again. His eyes burned into her soul. He didn't have to read her mind to know that she was scared. She managed to fight through the pain and crawl back as far as she could. Satron backed into the bed post. She tried to jump off the bed and call for Kurama but her voice was lost and so was she. Hiei grabbed her arms and put them above her head. Her feet never touched the ground.
I was not finished with you. She glanced down at his other hand and recognized the object he was holding. She wished she had never seen it, she wished she could undo this evening.
She told Hiei “ I will not fight you anymore”
She knew she was only making it worse on herself by doing so. Still naked she drug her feet slowly to the bed. Satron then shakingly placed her hands on the bed. Closing her eyes as tight as she could, pretend it was all over. She heard the crack of the object in the background. Her heart began to race, her breathing almost non-existent.
“Wench… are you ready”
He cracked the object again. She knew he already had the answer.
“ No… I am not but please help…”
She paused trying to swallow her tears, knowing if she said what she was supposed to it would make things go over easier.
“ Please help me correct my behavior”
Hiei's eyes grew wide, she had remembered. She really had given in and decided to accept what he had planned for her. He licked his lips temporally rethinking. Would he take her or punish her instead. He could take her roughly and satisfy his hunger.
“ I am sorry Hiei”
“Don't worry you will be”
He took a few steps toward her, lifting his hand.
She went to scream and.................
