One night is all I need

After eating, shopping with your new girlfriends, taking a quick tour of the city, and getting kicked out of a video games store, you all started getting hungry again. It was very late for a bunch of young people like you walking around. All the restaurants were closed.

"Hey, why don't we just eat at your place Yusuke?" Kuwabara asked walking with his hands behind his head.

"Hmm let me think…BECAUSE YOU ATE EVERY STINKING THING!" Yusuke yelled causing everyone to tear drop.

"Hey look!" Botan said pointing to a lit up building. "That restaurant still looks open!"

Everybody ran towards it. It was a restaurant and a kareoke bar.

"Big Joe's Restaurant and Kareoke bar??" Yusuke said in an amused voice.

"I bet it's full of fat, old guys. Let's not go in there!" Keiko said backing up.

"Ohh come on, Keiko! We don't have anywhere else to eat!" Kuwabara said. Kayko started shaking here head. "Fine! Last one in there is a rotten egg!"

Kuwabara started running inside. Botan ran after him.

"Kuwabara! Don't run in there! You might get beat up!" Botan yelled running through the doors.

Yusuke sighed and walked through the doors hunched over. "Might as well…"

"Yusuke! Wait up! Don't leave me here! Come back here!" Keiko said running after him and grabbing his arm.

"Kayko…?" Yusuke said, but just sighed again. "Hurry up."

It was just you, Kurama, and Hiei. Hiei shrugged and started walking in. Ironically he looked back at the both of you.

"You two coming or what?" He asked.

"Umm…uh…we'll be right there! Just tell Yusuke to save us some spots." You said quickly. You turned to Kurama, he was looking at you the whole time. "We better go in…what?"

"Hmm? Ooh sorry…it's just that…Forget it...never mind." Kurama said rubbing his neck. He looked downhearted.

You step closer to Kurama a little. "Something wrong?"

Kurama just stares at the ground. Then he looks up and looks at your necklace.

"It might sound crazy…but you look like someone I knew." He said still not looking at you. "Sorry…but I've been thinking about it all day. You look just like her…"

"Who?"

"Look, I'm sorry. I'm all right. It's been so long anyway. She died a long time ago." Kurama said looking close to tears.

I'm sorry." You said.

"Don't worry, I'm fine now. Come on, let's go before the rest starts worrying about us." Kurama said finally looking back up at you with a smile.

"Heh, okay, let's go!" You said.

Kurama grabbed your hand and you blushed a little bit. You both ran inside the bar. Then a nasty, greasy smell stopped the both of you. Keiko was right…this bar is full of fat old guys. You both walked slowly while you received many stares. Then you finally Yusuke and the others seated and eating already. Everyone looked up at both of you. Yusuke had a smirk on his face.

"So..what were you two doing outside?" Yusuke teased.

You noticed Kurama was still holding your hand. He let go and you put your hand behind your back. Kurama sweat dropped.

"Hehe…nothing…we were just…umm…"

"Just sit down and eat." Yusuke said.

"Uh oh, by the way Kuwabara's eating, I don't think we can pay for all this, Yusuke." Botan warned.

"Don't worry…I have-"

Yusuke's eyes widened. "I only have enough money for the 4 of us!! And by the way Kuwabara's eating, we have no chance of paying this off!"

"Hey, look." Botan held up a sign that was on the table. "For every person who sings in the kareoke bar, gets a free meal!"

Everyone stopped eating. There was a long silence.

"Come on guys! Singing can't be that hard! It's gotta be better than working in the kitchens!" Boton said cheerfully. "Oh fine, I'm done anyway. I'll sing first."

Everyone started shaking his or her head furiously. But Boton was already up walking to the stage. Everyone in the bar turned his or her seats to face Boton. She suddenly turned red in the face.

"Hey everyone! Umm…I'm gonna sing a song that you all might know!" Botan says. Silence. She starts tapping on the mic. "Is this thing on?"

An old guy with a 5:00 shadow whistled at her. Botan suddenly had an embarrassed look on her face.

"Umm…*cough*…well, I'll start off with a song called `Simple and Clean'. (which I don't own, but I give major props to Utada Hikaru)

"You're giving me…too many things, lately…You're all I need…ooh…you smiled at me, and said…"

The lights dimmed and there were spotlights on Botan. She wasn't that bad. A waitress came by and asked for your order.

"Umm…I'll just have a salad." You said.

"Okay..one salad…and you sir?" The waitress asked Kurama.

"No thanks…I'm fine." Kurama said.

"Don't worry hun. I'll get you somethin' to eat. How `bout a bowl o' soup, eh? I'll fix it up for you." The waitress insisted. She then walked away into the kitchen.

You looked and Kurama and giggled. Kurama laughed with you.

"Would you like burga's with that, hun?" You mocked.

You both laughed…how you loved his laugh. For some reason, at that moment you felt as if you knew Kurama for the longest time. He seemed familiar although you just met him today. Oh well, you were happy around him and that's all that mattered.

(Kurama's point of view…)

She seems so familiar…can it be her?

Kurama shook the idea out of his head. He couldn't help not looking at (y/n). Not only because she looked like his long lost love, but also because she had a small hint of the demon aura.

Maybe she's a demon…maybe that's why Genkai wanted to adopt her. Who am I kidding? Genkai wanted a servant around the house…she can't be a demon…she just can't be…can she?

(Your point of view)

"Hey, are you okay? You seem a little depressed." You say after seeing that Kurama hasn't touched his soup.

"Huh? Ohh sorry…our food came." Kurama said noticing the soup in front of him.

You rolled your eyes. "Yea, it came like fifteen minutes ago."

"Look, I'm sorry if I remind you of that someone who died…" You apologized.

Kurama looked a bit surprised, then he smiled.

"No it's ok…I'm fine." Kurama said looking like he still wanted to talk to you. "So, you don't remember anything about your past? Nothing at all?"

"No…nothing." You said staring down at your necklace. "Wish I did though."

"Where did you say you got that necklace?" Kurama asked.

"Umm…I don't know. But I've had it always. Don't know why I don't remember where I got it from." You admit.

"Ohh…"

"Hey, do you guys wanna sing?" Yusuke suddenly popped out of no where.

You and Kurama glanced at each other.

"Sing?"

"Yeah, might as well if you don't wanna wash dishes.

You sweat dropped. "You mean…"

"Yea, I'm flat broke. I paid for myself, Hiei, and Kayko. Sorry guys…"

"Okay, fine. I'll sing...how about Kurama?" You asked.

"Umm, okie."

"So, should I go first?" You asked.

"Hey, hey, hey. Who said that you guys are gonna go one after the other? It's getting late, we have to save time. Why don't you two have a duet?" Yusuke suggested.

You both turned red in the cheeks. Everyone started giggling.

"Come on you guys! Hey, Kurama's not that bad at singing!" Botan said.

"It's gonna be fun! Trust me!" Kayko said cheerfully.

You considered it for a while…"Okie, fine…I'm in. How `bout you Kurama?"

He started to smile and stood up. "Okie, let's go for it."

You grabbed his hand and dragged him to the stage.
