Chapter 6- Punishment and Anger

"That was great you guys! You were like really into the song!" Botan said walking backwards infront of you and Kurama.

"Heh, thanks. I love that song." You said.

"And Kurama! You were so good!" Botan complimented.

"Thank you."

"Uh, oh. This doesn't look good." Yusuke said as all of you approached his apartment.

There, sitting on the door step was Genkai. She sat cross armed and cross legged. She looked angry, very angry. Her face looked sort of scary as the dim lamp reflected off her face. You gulped loudly. As you all walked up to her everyone started quietin down.

"Good morning everyone." Was all Genkai said.

You looked at your watch. It was 12:30 in the morning!

"Well, I haven't been a parent in a very very long time, but I think it deosn't take an idiot to know that 12:30 am is late. I told you we had early training tommorow. Well, this will only hurt yourself. Come on, the taxi's waiting." Genkai said as she stood up and brushed pass you.

A Taxi car lit its head lights and you heard an engine start. You turned to the rest of the gang and turned red a little from the embarressment.

"Good night guys, see you. Ohh, and thanks for dinner and everything." You said grinning a little.

You glanced at Kurama who looked at you too. You turned around and walked towards the taxi car. You stepped in and the driver sped off. The ride was silent, which tortured you. You wondered what Genkai was going to do as a punishment. Being the old woman she is, she won't do any real damage, right?

"Wake up." You hear a familiar scratchy voice.

Suddenely your blanket is not covering you anymore. You sit up and rub your eyes. A short, old woman comes into focus. You fall back asleep.

"WAKE UP NOW!" Genkai yells.

"Ahh! I'm awake, I'm awake!"

"Get dressed, there's a list of choors you have to do. I'll be in the city getting food and supplies. Hurry up."

"Ugh…"

You look at your watch. 5:00 am. What?! It's too early to work…Too early to even get up…

You go in the kitchen and open the refrigerator. Your eyes widen as you looked inside. Inside were nothing but milk, orange juice, strawberry jelly, and butter. You rush to the cabinets. Canned peaches, bread, and canned coffee beans.

"Where's the sugar stuff?? Where's the junkfood?!!" You scream to youself. "She better get some when she goes `grocery shopping.'"

Then you spot a piece of paper on the table.

Choirs:

Clean stable

Put manure into the bags labeled "fertilizer"

Do the laundry

Pick weeds in the garden

Dust the shrine

Fix all the rooms

Mop the kitchen floor

Clean bathrooms

Take out garbage

Wash dishes

You gaped at the long list. This was only your second day staying with Genkai and she's already giving you choirs to do. `ohh yea, maybe because of last night.' You thought to yourself. You held the list in your teeth as you walked outside to look for the stable.

"There it is."

After opening the doors, you smelled something horrible.

"GROSS! What is that??"

You look around and saw a pile of manure on the corner of the stable. You scrunched your face. You picked up a larger shovel and started putting the manure into bags. After that you dragged the bags outside and leaned them on a wall of the stable. You then rake to rake up all the hay inside.

"Well…here we go…"

(hours later)

Dirty and smelly, you check off `Take out the garbage'. You wash your hands and picked up a plate. Suddenely you felt some kind of presence in the room. You quickly turned around and dropped the dish on the floor.

"Koharu what are you doing here?" You demanded.

"Just checking how everything is. I see the old hag has put you to work." Koharu chuckled.

"Shut up! She might be strict but she's still family!" You said angrily.

Koharu lifted an eyebrow.

"I see that Urameshi is still alive…what might be taking so long?"

"I will never hurt him! He is one of Kurama's best friends!"

Koharu looks at you in the eye. His smile faded into a menacing glare.

"Don't you remember our deal? I give you life here on earth so you could kill Yusuke for me. A deals a deal, demon." He said.

"Why would I keep my end of the deal? What made you think I would do as you please?" You said grinding your teeth.

Koharu then smiled that smile you always despised.

"Poor little girl…to foolish and young to understand…I own you now. The only way you're up here on earth, is because I sent your soul here. Anytime, I can take your soul away. So you better do this if you want to live."

"Why don't you kill Yusuke yourself then??" You asked.

"Because…it's more fun this way." He chuckled. "Well, I best take my leave. There are souls that need to be tortured. I expect a better report when I come back. Good day."

And at that, he dissapeared. You sat on the floor your knees too weak to stand back up. How could he? You thought. You finally had enough strengthe to continue washing the dishes. A few minutes later Genkai comes in with groceries. She greets you.

"Hello, (y/n). Help me with the groceries."

You turn around and Genkai suddenely fell silent. Your eyes were still red. Genkai walked up to you and observed your face.

"Something wrong?" Genkai said.

You were surprised. Genkai actually felt concerned for you.

"No, I'm fine. I just had some soap in my eye, that's all." You replied.

"I'll put the groceries away, you can go and take a shower now." Genkai said. You smiled. "You can go to town and buy some new clothes too."

Genkai handed you some money. You felt like hugging her or something, but you didn't. You ran to the bathroom and turned on the shower. After showering and dressing up you ran out the door. You checked your watch, it was 5:00.

"Be back by 9:30 (y/n)!" Genkai yelled before you closed the door after you.

You then called a taxi and drove to the city. You started walking towards the mall when you noticed the restaurant that Kurama told you about. You stood and stared at it for a while.

"Hey! Move along, Missy!" A man said behind you.

"Sorry." You apologized.

You continued walking until you finally reached the mall. As you walk through the doors, somnone covered your eyes.

"Guess who."
