Chapter 9- Table for Two

You suddenely embraced Kurama. You wrapped your hands around his neck while his arms were around your waste. You smelled his sweet cologne. You were so happy to see him that it seemed like forever since you've seen eachother.

"Kurama…I missed you so much. Where were you today?" You asked staring at his amazing eyes.

He gave you a kiss on your lips as your stomach made a little flip.

"It doesn't matter. We're both here now." Kurama said ever so smooth (yummy!).

You grinned. "You're right. What are we doing here anyway?"

Kurama just took your hand and led you up a pair of black stairs covered with vines. Then you both stopped at the door way that said `welcome'. Kurama turned to face you.

"Close your eyes." He said as you obediently did.

You then were led into the room. It smelled of sweet roses, and it was warm and welcoming. You felt Kurama's hands slip around your waist. You could hear the crackling of a fire.

"Okay…open your eyes."

You opened them and suddenely you couldn't help but gaze around you. It was the most beautiful room you've ever seen. The walls were aligned with red transparent curtains and you could see roses aligning the walls on the floor. You then saw the fire which was alive on the corner of the room. In front of it, was a basket full of roses giving off the sweet scent that filled the room. Then in the middle of the room, you could see a circular table with two plates, forks and spoons, two wine glasses, a wine bottle in a bucket full of ice, and a rose resting inside a bottle in the middle of the room. You couldn't believe your eyes.

"Kurama! It's so gorgous. Did you set this up all by your self?" You asked still looking around the room.

Kurama chuckled.

"Well…I had a little help. But this is all for our dinner. Are you hungry?" Kurama asked.

Just then, your stomach made a huge growl.

"I guess I'm a little hungry." You said a little embarressed.

Kurama led you to your chair and pulled your chair out for you. Then he sat in his.

"This place is so beautiful, Kurama." You said amazed. "I love it."

"It's the nicest restaurant in the whole town. It serves the greatest food, it has the best selected wine, and it's also private for the two diners." Kurama said.

You blushed many shades of red and tried to hide it with your hand. Kurama slightly blushed too, but he was smiling at the same time. You couldn't help but smile too. You loved it when he smiled and couldn't help but do the same.

"Kurama, how come…you set this all up for us?" You asked.

"I wanted to do something to make it up to you, (y/n)." Kurama said. "I brought you home very late that one night, I wanted to apologize."

"Don't worry about, Kurama. It was no problem. I was glad I came home late, because if we didn't, we would probably have never…"

You couldn't finish. Kurama's lips were locked with yours. You savored every single second of it. Kurama's lips were so soft against yours, you wished it would never end. After a long while, he parted from yours.

"…Apology accepted." You said, you both to laugh.

A waiter just then came in with two plates of salads. You both started eating slowly never taking your eyes off eachother.

"Kurama…this is so great…I don't know how I can repay you." You asked.

Kurama just smiled. "Just being here with you is all I need."

He took your hand that was resting on the table and stroked it with his fingers. Your plates were taken, and your main course was set down. He let go of your hand while you both started eating.

"This is so good. Better than what I had this morning." You said.

"I'm glad you like it." Kurama said.

You both ate for a while. The food was so delicious. Soon your plates were taken away. You took a sip of your wine and looked outside the window. Then you felt Kurama's hand on yours again. You looked into his eyes as he looked into yours. It was so strange, him being with you felt so familiar. Maybe you knew him before and just can't remember…You saw Kurama stare at your old necklace and he looked a little depressed.

"Please…don't stop." You said slowly.

Kurama eyed you once more. He moved closer to you and placed his hand on your cheek.

"___"

His soft lips came in contact with yours. You closed your eyes. His lips then slowly moved to your neck. You giggled as the edge of his mouth brushed against your skin. You slowly opened your eyes and stared at the fire. This is so pefect… Kurama leaned back and looked at you lovingly.

"____, I love you."

You had tears in your eyes. Kurama wiped them off with his finger as you smiled. You held his hands.

"Kurama…I-"

As you gazed into Kurama's eyes, you could see the moon's reflection. You looked towards the window staring at the full moon outside. You suddenely had a worried expression on your face.

"What is it?" Kurama asked.

You looked back at him, anxious. "The moon… Kurama, I'm sorry. I have to go, right now." You said standing up quickly.

"What's wrong?" Kurama asked also standing up.

"I have to go…I can't stay, I'm sorry."

You gave Kurama a quick hug and kiss on the cheek. You opened the door and ran down the the stairs. You ran down the street not looking back. Kurama walked to the balcony and stared as you ran down the street.

"So it may be true…" Kurama said.

You ran tears emerging from your eyes. Where can I go? Genkai will probably think I'm a freak coming home with ears and a tail. Hy did I have to be cursed like this…Kurama will probably never want to see me again…why me?

"CURSE YOU KOHARU!" You screamed.

There's no where else I can go…

You reached the end of town. You walked to the beach and sat in the sand. The moon reflected off the silent water. You covered your eyes, burning tears falling from your eyes. I'll have to stay here until morning….no one can see me like this. You put your legs in front of you and crouched so that you were leaning on your knees. Suddenely…you here footprints in the sand coming towards you. You didn't make a sound.Then you felt hands wrapping around your body. You looked up, it was Kurama. You quickly hid your face in your hands.

"W-what are you doing here?" You asked.

You heard Kurama sit next to you.

"Why are you here, ___?" He asked.

You surprised by how dumb that question sounded. You looked up and glared at him. He looked back at you with his loving eyes.

"Look at me! I'm a freak…Kurama…I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I'm a…"

"Demon." Kurama finished.

"Yes…we can't be together…I'm a demon and you're a…" You tuck your head into your hands again. There was a short silence.

"That's very interesting." Was all Kurama could say.

You started getting angry. Why is Kurama being sarcastic at a time like this?

"I still love you."

You looked up at Kurama…except…it wasn't him. He had long silver hair and golden eyes. He had ears and a tail just like yours…he was also a…demon. You observed his face for a while.

"I thought I would never see you again…I thought I lost you forever." The different Kurama said, tears falling from his eyes.

I wanted to die the day you were taken…the day that you were dragged down along with my pendant."

"Kurama…"

He took your hand and led it to the necklace around your neck. All at once, memories came through your head.

[F][L][A]S[H][B][A]C[K]

It was so beautiful…the neverending field of flowers…the wind in your hair. You embraced your lover, intending to never let go.

No matter where you are, I will always be with you.

Promise?

I swear it…

[[[Then another image came across your mind…]]]

You were pulled into the swirling pool of darkness clutching Kurama's necklace. The demons pulled you further and further away. Kurama's hand was still extended trying to reach you. You extended yours too but it was too late…

I love you

"(y/n)!! NOOOOO!!"

You suddenely broke down in tears and flung your arms around Kurama. He held you and stroked your hair.

"Kurama! I've missed you so much! All these years…I thought I was alone…I thought I was never loved…" You said crying into his shoulder. "No wonder…this feels so familiar…no wonder I love it when I see you or hear your voice…"

Kurama wrapped his arms around your body.

"Shhh…yes…it has been so long…but I knew I would find you again." Kurama said.

You couldn't stop crying. You were finally with the one you loved again…Nothing else mattered…

Kurama slipped his hand around your waist and pulled you closer. You wrapped your hands around his neck. Under the stars, you both sat on the beach, listening to the waves. You caressed Kurama's cheek, as he stroked your hair. Kurama moved his head closer to yours but you stopped him. You smiled.

"I love you, Kurama." You said.

You tasted Kurama's sweet kiss. You loved Kurama's lips on yours, and didn't want that moment to stop. And it felt as if it didn't…

That morning, you woke up a little delirious. You looked around abruptly; you were inside your room. You rolled over, and there, sleeping next to you, was Kurama. You smiled as you watched him sleep (YUMMY). You moved closer to him and laid you head next to his. You could feel his heart beat as you placed one hand on his chest. Slowly, you fell back asleep knowing that someone had loved you.

…and will always love you
