Maybe, stating something rather insulting to a mental patient and then hiding out in a bathroom for three hours wasn't such a grand idea as Hiei had first thought during his `bout of agitation. Not that he'd ever apologize or anything like that, but it was rather condescending to think -while sitting on an uncomfortable porcelain toilet seat- about what was going to happen later thanks to his insults towards the insane creature just in the other room. When all was silent earlier while he was taking his shower, he had right to be slightly paranoid about why it was so quiet, but now, hearing nothing BUT silence gave him such a jolt of uneasiness that even his demon instincts felt a bit cowardly at the thought of going back into that room with the girl.

If the other night was bad enough, he didn't want to think about what might happen now. Since Hiei Jaganshi was also not very stupid, he new fully well that his words from earlier more than likely caused a mental snap on his `client' and he wasn't very apt to having her probably slap his cheek open again. Oddly enough, the ones from last night had yet to fully heal as they should have done. (Under normal circumstances he would use his own energy to keep some wounds from healing too quickly so he wouldn't rouse suspicion with the nurses, but these still looked as if they were caused just a few moments ago.)

Yet, even as he lacked motivation to leave the bathroom and put up with whatever emotions he caused in the female, that toilet seat was really making his ass go numb.

It wasn't a pleasant feeling and he now understood why humans got so fidgety when sitting in a school desk all day. Deciding that sitting upon the floor, tub, and sink counter was not going to make the tingly feeling in his backside any better, the only choice left was to stand for a few more hours or leave to the main room for his imminent doom. (Exaggeration implied of course.) Under careful consideration, he tried the standing, but being bored, it didn't do much to make him feel slightly better either. Bathrooms when they were not being used were just -how to put this so it makes sense- cold. The floors were hard, the walls were hard, no sign of even a small window and lights bright enough to make a blind person see and all out nothing entertaining in the slightest. Hiei had to at least admit to himself slightly that being mauled by an insane, annoying, female demon had more perks to it compared to staring at a completely white wall.

Having that decided, -along with the tingling in his backside still bothering him- the fire apparition wracked up his courage. (Or as Yusuke would put it oh so elegantly, he mused, grew some `balls.') Plastering his blank, emotionless look on his face despite any paranoid feeling he had to the quiet emptiness of the other room, he unlocked the door and quickly flung it open before carefully stepping through the threshold.

He was met with paranoia coming true as his crimson gaze found his cot mattress practically torn to shreds and his itchy blanket no better scattered across the floor. Apparently he had caused quite a lot of biased anger within the girl since his eyes quickly noted that her bed seemed practically untouched, minus the bit of red liquid dappling across bits of the sheets.

His eyes blinked and he did a double check towards her bed. There was nothing sharp in the room minus plastic knives, where would blood have come from? Feeling that ill bit of unease coming back again, he slowly stepped further into the room and also noticed quite a few dents had been caused on the walls. (This was clearly caused from some bit of inhuman strength.) Studying the rest of the room carefully, he noticed it's of the same blood dabbling the torn up sheets and cot of his and figured it was more or less a trail leading up to one of the corners. Being as three of them were devoid of any thing but a speck of dust and floor, it was quite obvious that the trial led right up to the corner nearest his bed. And since Hiei was of a quick thinking mind -unfortunately not as quick as a certain silver-haired fox thief- he quickly put it all together to decipher that once he had left, said insane girl somehow found a way to cut herself into bleeding while sitting upon her bed. Then promptly left a trail of blood towards his bed and took much prejudice anger out upon his sleeping quarters before slithering away to that certain corner of the room.

Noticing his translation to more than likely to be correct, he looked upon her, set within a fetal position, hands gripping her arms and hair covering her face, directly in that very corner. Hiei allowed his eyes to widen slightly when he noticed what had been used in order to cause the bits of blood and wearily stared at her hands.

Hands that had elongated black fingernails suddenly and were drenched in dried, caked blood and being slightly covered by fresh liquid as well. Taking in a more careful look, he noticed that her arms -still being held tightly within her clawed hands- were bleeding profusely from wide-spread cuts and her nails were still digging into the wounds, causing more and more of the substance to come out. Now, no denying this, Hiei much enjoyed the smell of blood and cleaving into enemies, but seeing a creature like that slicing through skin without much of a purpose was slightly unnerving...

Taking a few more steps forward, he bent slightly and quietly in order to see the girls face that was still covered in the dark brown of her hair. Yet, it was quite easy to tell from the slight reflection of light upon her pale skin, that she had been crying. He ignored the feeling of his insides twisting

I made her cry… He thought briefly before suppressing the urge to call her pathetic. Somehow, insulting a mental patient just didn't seem like a good idea at the moment. Hiei also slightly wondered on if it would be a good idea to stop her nails from digging much further into her arms or if he should just swiftly hide himself in the bathroom once more and wait for the nurses to come by.

However, he was brought out of these thoughts when she answered for him by deftly moving her face up to stare straight at him, eyes dazed and lips curved up into a grin that would make a clown proud. Her dark tresses clung to her face either from slight sweat of the bits of blood that stained her cheeks, either way, she looked about ready to collapse or rip a few heads off, give or take a few. Her black nails slowly moved to a halt from their masochistic raid against her arms and she chuckled darkly, eyes flashing to that of a deep crimson instead of their dull-grey. Quickly, she removed some hair from her face, allowing the same nails to slightly cut the skin of her cheek as she did so, producing more droplets of blood to slowly come to the surface.

Hiei couldn't quite figure out why he found her so interesting at the moment yet quickly realized it to be instincts liking the sight of blood before throwing the mindset away and out the window. Inching his feet slightly to prepare to once more confine himself in the bathroom, he struggled to take his eyes off hers, realizing only at that precise moment how captivating she might be if her real demon form came loose.

Then his mind reeled back into sensory land when her laughter came out and flashed a sharp canine at him.

”Insanity…” She drawled in a voice low and whispering like a hiss and purr mixed together to create a sound that belonged to her and her only. Her tongue licked across her lips like a snake's before she laughed lightly once again and stared up at him with a fiery intensity. “… It is nothing. Nothing at all…” Her voice wavered into another giggle and he found himself rising up and eyebrow.

He also held back the urge to speak back to her. He rarely spoke to her during her moments of mental lapses and he wasn't about to start now. That would probably just prolong her actions either way. Instead, like the night before, he stood there watching, patiently and counting down the minutes until the nurses arrived in his head.

“Do you understand insanity, Hiei?” She asked quite suddenly, letting his name roll off her lips as if it were some kind of pleasurable sin. He felt his instincts flash for a moment from how the name came out in such a breathy way and bit the inside of his lip. Damn, how irritating…

Warning signals alighted into his head as the girl slowly rose up to stand from the floor, letting her wrongfully colored clothes rustle as she moved and glimmer slightly from the damp blood that had stained them moments before and she sashayed her hips a little bit before laughing again. Eye twitching, Hiei regained control of his leg motor skills and once again prepared to rush for the bathroom, not ready to make his probation longer by killing the client. (He'd later muse over how that thought of killing the client being a bad thing seemed to come to his mind a lot lately.)

”Insanity is…” She drawled more, moving slowly towards him, hips swishing and nails glinting in the light, still glistening in her own essence. “…an obstacle.” She finished, stopping her movements when she was just a few feet away, placing a hand upon her hip as if she were lecturing him. “Yes, that's what it is; an obstacle that keeps one from completing their goals, keeps them away from succeeding and never allows them the peace they seek so that they're forced to live a life of torment without death.”

It was uneasy to realize how she was making sense and not making sense all at the same time with her words and he noticed the walls fall down like a train wreck bound to happen when she hissed at the end of her slight speech and growled dangerously within the back of her throat. Her eyes were flashing malevolently, holding him still within their gaze like a child looking up into the face of a murderer about to kill them.

A tear suddenly trickled down her cheek. Another followed soon after. In horrified silence, Hiei watched as her laughing face crumbled and a sob wracked her throat, tears streaming down like a flood and pip-plopping off her chin to stain her clothes even more.

”Failure…” She hiccupped through the tears, walking towards him once more and eyes watering up like a faucet. “Is something I can't allow... I'm failing and you know it! Self- righteous bastard!”

The resounding slap that echoed across the room sung like a bitter, redundant memory for Hiei as he felt the stinging pain flash across his left cheek and leave his head jolting towards the right from the sheer force of the blow. Shrieking madly, he felt her hand come up from the other side and smack him dead-on the right cheek as well, forcing him to face back towards her, face red from the sting and the anger that provoked through him from such an actions.

Half-suspecting her to violently bang his head into the nearest wall now, he was thoroughly shocked when her frail-knuckle white hands gripped against his front shirt and she pulled him into her. Face burrowing into his chest as another sob quaked through her. He blinked numbly and glanced down at the small-framed woman and seemed at a loss. Why was there no more violence than just that?

Her hair seemed a tint of blue now, no longer brown as another sob rang out and he felt the wetness of her tears seep into his chest. Coming upon that revelation, he realized that this insane, strong, annoying, female was crying on him. Crying to him like he was the comforting pillar that kept her strong and that greatly confused him. Why wasn't she causing him to bleed before becoming sexual and licking his wounds? Or why wasn't she furiously demolishing everything in the room? Why, why, why, why?

Hiei couldn't get his head around it, yet he wasn't allowed more time to think before the girl glanced straight up at him, clinging to him like a life-jacket while hiccupping slightly. The look of devastation and of broken madness brought his entire insides to freeze and feel as if his own organs had dropped out of his stomach.

There wasn't much to place, but looking down into her cold, broken eyes; he found something within them that hadn't been there for the entire year he knew her.

That was a lack of insanity and more or less a look of a sane woman whose life was filled with pain that could no longer be held within her. Another tear rolled down and she looked up at him pitifully.

”….save me.” She whispered, before her eyes rolled up into the back of her head from lack of blood and she quickly -like a sack of iron- dropped to the floor.

Hiei was left staring at her, lost within the moment and unsure of how to react to anything around him, not even the sounds of the doors being unlocked to his right.

'…save me.'
