Black: Ok keep typin' woman!!! I'm leaving for Florida for like 2 weeks.

Millie: Why should I type for you when you are leaving me with *whispers* these people.

Black: Oh come on. This gives you time to be with Kurama….alone. *smirks*

Millie: 0_0 Black you can't leave. Hiei will be devastated.

Hiei: HAHAHAHAHAHA

Millie: *glares at him* HIEI. YOU KNOW YOU WILL!!!

Hiei: My ass I will.

B/M: *glare at him*

Millie: He just has “emotional” issues. He will miss you a lot. And so will I.

Black: Well now I feel loved. I miss you all too but get going with this chapter. I really want to read.

Millie: Ugh FINE!!!! Have fun reading.

Hiei: *is still laughing*

Kurama's P.O.V.

 

I was waiting patiently in the living room hoping that Lyric wasn't in any danger.

`Dammnit if only I had known before then she would not have gotten hurt.' I thought to myself. Normally I do not curse but in these types of situations I do. I looked around the room and saw the pained faces of the others. They were all worried when Kaline stood up and retreated to her room.

“Fuck, she better be ok. Somebody tell me what's going on when Yusuke comes out. I'm going to my room.” She said and I watched her closely as she disappeared around the corner and into the hallway. Hiei asked me what had happened and I answered truthfully. Lyric had no idea about the blood of this demon. We all thought that she would not be able to defend herself anymore. We waited a while longer when Yusuke came in with Genkai. Hiei quickly left to retrieve Kaline. When they returned Genkai explained to us that Lyric will be okay but that a message had been burned into her skin. The message warned for us not to try and escape or he will kill us off one by one by burning us alive. He is a very ruthless person.

“So she is okay?” I asked.

“She is fine Kurama. She should be out soon. We just have to wrap her up.” At that everyone went to where they usually go. Hiei went outside and I decided to go to my room. I sat on my bed thinking about everyone and our relationships. Lyric was a great person and we were good friends. Kaline was a great person as well and I had greater feelings for her. Hiei was a secretive guy with is own problems that I have never spoken to him about. Yusuke is a child and immature but we still get along. Finally there was Kuwabara. I am always nice to him but he is quite dumb. I sat up and heard something outside. People talking. I didn't want to intrude so I just left them to their conversation. I heard little of it but could tell it was Hiei's and Kaline's voices. I got up and went out to the doorway that led to the back porch. I looked up and saw Kaline hugging Hiei. He was doing the same. He saw me and I quickly looked away. My face got warm and I squinted my eyes. I walked at a fast pace back into the temple.

“Kurama?!” Lyric was standing there and she could see I wasn't in the best of moods. “Oh Kurama are you ok?” She asked with a hint of curiosity and pity in her voice. I cleared my throat.

“Um no Lyric. No I'm not. May I speak with you please?” She followed me to the open breakfast bar and we both sat down.

“What is it?” She asked me.

“I-…….I just saw Kaline hugging Hiei in a tree and it just hit a little too close to home.”

“Oh Kurama I'm so sorry.” She said and gave me a short hug.

“I need to ask you something.”

“Sure go ahead.”

“You have been through this?” I asked her.

“Yes. Unforunately I have.” She looked to the floor not making eye contact.

“Well tell me…..does the pain ever go away? I mean I know I have only admired her from afar and I never expected anything to happen but it really makes you think what could be so wrong with yourself you know?”

“The pain does go away I assure you of that. It takes a while though. Feelings are sometimes not a good thing to have. You know?”

“Yes. Now I see what Hiei means. They bring pain but then again they bring happiness. Sometimes just not at the times you want them to.” I replied.

“Yep……..Well I'm gonna um go to bed. Il-I'll see you in the morning Kurama.” She rushed off before I could say anything more. Hiei and Kaline were back by then.

“What's up with Lyric?” Kaline asked me.

“She is just tired that's all. She went to her room to sleep but it seems like there is much more to it than that.” I replied.

“Let me go talk to her. Night.”

“Goodnight Kaline.” I went to my room as well and got ready for bed. I changed into black pants and took my shirt off. I got into bed and fell into a dreamful sleep.

 

Lyrics P.O.V.

 

I sat in the living room bored and my wound was itching. Kurama told me not to mess with it or it will start to burn so I stopped. He came to me a little while later and revealed to me that he saw Hiei and Kaline in a tight hug in one of the trees outside. I could see the pain in his eyes and I felt for him. I knew he was hurting but I couldn't help but be happy for Kaline and Hiei. For me and Kaline have talked about her feelings towards Hiei and I have heard his thoughts about her as well. Kurama asked me if the pain of rejection will ever fade because I have been in the very same situation. I answered him. Giving him a false hope at happiness again. Sure it will go away but there will always be that pang in his heart where he left a space for the one he loved in it. I looked at him and thought to myself.

`He doesn't know who it is that I feel for. I doubt he will ever find out.'

He asked me at dinner time who it was that I cared for so much and I brushed it off. He just smiled and said that I have nothing to lose and that I should really confront this person of my feelings towards them. I looked away from him. How could I do that when I had even spoken to him about the one he cared for most and it wasn't me. Kurama was the one I loved most but he couldn't see that and I wasn't about to tell him the truth. I quickly answered his questions told him good night and left. I was in my room for a while when I heard someone creaking the door open.

“What do you want?” I said in a cold voice.

“It's me Ly. Can I come in cause you know I will anyway.” said Kaline and she laughed as she said the last part.

“Hm. I guess.” I replied with no emotion to my voice.

“What's wrong?” She asked.

“Everything is wrong Kaline. My whole fucking life is shitty. God has condemned me to a life without love, happiness, and/or the ability to know when I will be captured or in danger. I mean I know I can fight but I do and then I become the fucking damsel in distress.” I said in a fast pace. I put my hand up to cover my face as I lay on my bed looking nowhere but at the ceiling. Kaline laid down next to me.

“Ly god has not condemned you to any of those things. You just think he has. Now tell me what's going on.”

“What do think about me?” I went off topic.

“What? What do mean what do I think of you?”

“I mean exactly that. I mean do you care if I'm here? Do you care if I'm even alive? Do you like having me around?” I asked quite paranoid.

“Lyric you know how I feel about you. Stop being stupid.”

“I'm not being stupid ok? I'm being serious. I feel like no one gives a rats ass if I'm alive, dead, here, away, happy, sad. I feel like you guys only tolerate me because I am supposed to be in the gang ordered by Koenma.” I ranted on feeling unheard.

“LY!!! You know damn well that we care about all of those things. What makes you think like this? How do get these things in your head?” She assured and asked me.

“I don't know. It's just how I feel you know? I mean take Kurama for instance.”

“Hn. Him again?”

“Yes him. I talk to him everyday and I hear him talk about you and how he feels towards you and all I can think about while he speaks of you is what the hell is so wrong with me that he can't like me?” She turned to me in a look of pity and sorrow for me. “I mean don't get me wrong I would love for you to feel the same way about him and for y'all to get together so that he can be happy. I know that you want Hiei and I DEFINITELY KNOW that Hiei wants you.”

“And how do you know that?”

“Oh come on. Ever since I discovered this power I have been invading people's privacy.” She glared at me. “Don't worry I never do it to you. You could kick my ass. But you see Kuwabara and Yusuke and stupid normal humans couldn't. hehe. Anyway back to the point I was trying to make I feel like I will never be truly happy. You and Hiei are getting together, Yusuke has Keiko. HELL EVEN KUWABARA HAS YUKINA. And who do I have? Huh? What was that? Oh yeah that's right nobody.” Kaline just laughed at me. “Don't laugh at me I'm being serious.”

“Look, I like Kurama but just as a friend. He knows that. And have you ever invaded Kurama's thoughts?” She asked me. I just glared at her.

“Sometimes. Barely.”

“Well then you have missed the parts where he is thinking about you.”

“What are you talking about?” I asked confused.

“Well I have heard him `ponder' if you will, about what it would be like if you were to go out with him if we didn't work out.”

“Umm details?”

“Well He said in his thoughts that there were some things that he couldn't stand about me. Which I don't hate him for I mean there are some things I can't stand about him.” I narrowed my eyes at her. “He said that you were perfect and that maybe he just couldn't think of you two as a couple because you have been friends for so long.”

“Oh yeah and when did you hear this?” I asked.

“Just a few minutes ago.” My eyes widened.

“You are such a liar.” I said to her.

“No I am not. Go on invade his thoughts.”

“Fine.” I searched for his energy and invaded his mind.

`Well we do get along perfectly. We have talked about things that I have trusted nobody else with. She is very pretty. Bonus hehe. I make myself laugh sometimes. Yes it has come to my attention that I do love her. I have been blinded with my false feelings for Kaline and never really thought about Ly.' He thought. My eyes widened and I blushed a furious red. He really did think of me that way.

“See. Hehe so don't worry, all of those crazy thoughts about no one caring are just ridiculous now that you think about it.”

“Hm. Whatever. Now I'm going to feel weird around him. Hehehe.” We joked around for a while.

“Well I'm going to go to sleep. You should to, it's like two in the morning and we have to fight later. You rest that arm you hear?”

“Yes mom.” I joked. She turned and left. I did what she told me and I got ready for bed. I brushed my short brown hair and took out my contacts. I changed into some black pajama pants and a blood red tank top. I laid in my bed for a couple minutes before falling asleep.

 

Lyrics Dream

 

I was a lot younger maybe about 7 or 8 and I was laying in a bed in a house I did not recognize. I heard two girls talking.

“Mom we have to send her away. She is not strong enough to defend herself. Please. I don't want him to do the same things to her like he did me.” pleaded a younger version of Kaline. She was between the ages of 10 and 11. She was speaking to an older woman. “Mother please you have to take her somewhere. He will be here soon. If he finds out he has another daughter, especially a half human one he won't hesitate to kill her. He made that mistake with me and I have been punished everyday for it. I know you don't want that for Ly mom.”

“We will do it but there is no time today. We must hide her.” She quickly got up and took me in her arms. I was asleep and didn't wake up. “I'm sorry but your mother has asked me to do all I can to keep you safe. It is a promise I will never break.” She kissed my forehead and took me to the dungeon. She wrapped me up and put me in a cellar. She laid me down and kneeled down next to me. She put her index and middle finger on my forehead and a light blue glow shined through her fingers. “Have a nice sleep.” At that there was a huge bang on the door. A rough looking man flew open the door to see this woman standing in front of me.

“What the hell are you doing woman?” He asked her in a harsh voice.

“Just getting dinner.” She tried to cover up. To my surprise he believed her. They both walked out of the room and there was a huge bang as the metal door shut behind them.

End Dream

 

I awoke from the dream with a confused look on my face. Who were these people? I knew Kaline but why was I in her house and why did they want to hide me? Was that really me? I thought about it for a while when I realized it was still dark out. I decided to back to sleep.
