Chapter 2: Institution

Shuuichi woke up as someone gently shook his sleeping form. He immediately reacted but couldn't move because his hands were secured. He cursed silently and looked around to see a nurse there. Nurse? Then he remembered the mission last night. The man he was trying to get rid of knew him. But it was more of a shock that anything else. Then he remembered nothing. Now he just woke up in some hospital? His eyes narrowed at those pills. It was a mental institution. People think him crazy. For what?

The pills were handed to him as the nurse smiled. As much as she looked beautiful it didn't faze him. Nothing did. He glared at her and stared defiantly. Just because the snake is nice now doesn't mean it won't bite you later.

"Oh common dear, you won't get better if you don't take your medicine," she said in a sweet sugary voice as if talking to a child. Well that would still be a bit true he was still seventeen. He'd be eighteen in about two weeks.

"I can't do anything with my hands bound," Shuuichi responded coldly.

"But that's for safety precautions dear. We wouldn't want you to hurt yourself, your father said so."

"I have no father."

"That's what they all say. Now why don't you be a good boy and take your medicine. I wouldn't want to call security in to make you take them."

"Make me." He challenged.

Soon enough two men came in and attempted to restrain him and force open his mouth. But he was faster. He evaded the first guy and stole the keys. He kept them at a distance while unlocking his bounded wrists. Shuuichi got them off and took off through the opened cell door, well he thought of it as one. Of course there was some security alert so he took off faster. He held a blade in his hand waiting for the first one to go at him. He was caught as an arm wrapped around his waist trapping his arm to his side while his other wrist with the knife in hand was gripped tightly making him drop it.

Shuuichi struggled but it was useless.

"Nurse," he heard the man say. Shuuichi felt a sting in his arm and his flailing ceased as he succumbed into darkness.

--------------------------------

Shuuichi woke up for the second time that day. He looked around to see he was now in a different room. It seemed more roomish rather than that 'cell' as he puts it. He looked out the window and saw that he really is in a house. That was just plain peculiar. He wondered who brought him here. As he moved his legs he heard a rattling sound. Shuuichi saw himself chained to the bed by one of his ankles. He sighed. He felt around his hair searching for a hairpin. Finding one he began to play with the lock trying to unlock it. But then it was impossible since it seemed to be secured. Maybe the person knew who he was. That wouldn't go well. He needed to get out of here.

"Sleeping beauty finally awakes. Took you long enough," someone said. He recognized it. It was the same person who held him up before he was sedated. Shuuichi's eyes narrowed and he flung the pin like a knife at the direction of the person. It was awhile. He heard no grunt or a gauge of pain. Looking towards the door he saw the man catch the pin in between his fingers right before it even reached his eyes. He stared in astonishment.

In the doorway a tall man stood with silver hair and amber eyes. He was carrying a tray of food. He shut the door behind him and walked towards Shuuichi who was just sitting there trying to stay away as possible. The silver haired man placed the tray on the table and sat down on the chair on the bedside. He started toying with the hairpin. Shuuichi just watched and stayed silent noting that this wasn't someone ordinary. His hand trailed behind his back as he reached for another sharp object that was near the end of his hair. It's a very concealing thing considering the thickness of it.

Before he could get anything he was pinned down. He was lying on his back with his hand still behind him and it was hurting because of the strain one can suffer in that position. He glared at the man over him that was holding him down like this. It was beginning to be so much pain but he held it in.

"I wouldn't try anything if I were you. By setting up this arrangement your father agreed to they thought it'd be fit if I just simply took you in. Usually I don't allow this but you're a special case. Now cooperate," he stated releasing Shuuichi while pulling out the extra weapon, "and eat before I'm forced to feed you. And I'm sure you wouldn't want that."

Shuuichi obeyed. He really didn't have a say in the matter. He cursed mentally in his head. He might as well die. He failed his mission and this he knew wasn't going to help him in anyway. So he took small bites as he avoided the silver haired man's eyes on him. He pushed the tray away when he ate what was considered an okay amount. The tray was taken and the man left. Shuuichi sighed in relief. He'd try and break out tomorrow. There were so many opportunities.

--------------------------------

Shuuichi was roughly shaken awake. He instinctively grabbed to the hand but his was trapped instead. He blinked several times before he saw his captor and scowled.

"Get up. It's time for your session."

"What session?"

"Guess."

"Wake me up when 'normal'," Shuuichi stressed the word normal, "people wake up." He finished before going back to some shuteye, not caring that the man, who he found out, was Yoko Kurama, was still gripping hand. He was thrown out of bed and landed non-to-gently on the floor.

"Well you're not 'normal', as you so eloquently put it, and besides this is the only time I could do anything to warp your mind into some happy-go-lucky world believing everything is beautiful. Now if you don't want to hear more of it, sit up and pay attention and answer what questions I'm asking, got it?"

"Yes sir," he mockingly saluted with his middle finger. This kind of attitude was starting to piss the psychiatrist off.

"Just sit."

--------------------------------

Yoko threw the folder across the room. The kid was a hopeless cause. Just after one session he could tell. This live-in patient was starting to get on his nerves and it hasn't even been twenty-four hours. When he started asking questions he received no answers, which already got on his nerves. He had a feeling that this kid was going to drive him to insanity ending his life early.

But the kid was a challenge and he loved challenges. Even if this were one tough case to crack he'd do it. The kid could only stay silent for long.
