Chapter 8: Problem Number 1

It had been three months since the family had moved to Makai, and Hiei was glad for it. He knew that although Yusuke and his children would miss Ningenkai, it was better all round for them to be here. Hiei raised himself on his elbow and looked down at Yusuke. He loved the way that the Toushin looked as he slept. It had been two months since Yusuke became pregnant with his children, and he had only grown more handsome. He had an indescribable look around him, a look that made Hiei hard the very moment he looked at him. He smiled remembering that, at first, Yusuke had downright refused any form of sex, he gave in when it came to Hiei having to leave his side a lot to rid himself of pent up sexual frustration. He had agreed that he would lessen his `no sex ban' if Hiei never left his side for a quick trip to the nearest toiled in which he would undoubtedly find his release.

 

Yusuke's eyes flickered open. He had grown used to awakening in one of Hiei's rooms, which was always more lavish than the guest quarters. He could feel a hand stroking his hair, making a pleasurable tingle run down his back, and a contented moan leave his lips. Hiei always knew what made him feel good. He loved that about his mate. He also knew that his mate was most patient with him, and he stroked a hand down Hiei's body, caressing the skin and muscle below. Yusuke could hear Hiei's breath quicken as he allowed a finger to run up the length that was calling for attention. “Good morning, Hiei.” Yusuke said playfully, knowing that Hiei wouldn't answer. However something was strange. He felt the stirrings of the lust that he hadn't felt for two full months begin, however he decided to keep that to himself. It would be a surprise for when his mate was half asleep and not compus mentus. Instead he curled his fingers around the length and moved so he could watch Hiei's expression change.

 

It never took long for Hiei to come in the mornings, however today it seemed that he was holding back for some reason, as though he wasted to drag out the sweet torture, something that made Yusuke swoop down and fuck him senseless, and at the moment, Hiei wouldn't know what hit him. The thought had appeal; what better way to surprise Hiei than to take him right here on the bed? Grinning he released Hiei's erection and grinned as Hiei moaned in objection. “All good things come to those who wait.” Yusuke said with a grin as he went to the bathroom, here he looked in the cabinet and found the lube that he had taken with him and smirked. Even now Hiei would be unaware of his lustful thoughts. He had long since learned that he could hide some of his thoughts by closing them behind doors. Returning to their bed he pulled the covering sheet off, baring Hiei to his eyes. Neither of them bothered to wear pajamas, or anything else that covered them at night for that matter.

 

The moment that Yusuke had left for the toilet, Hiei knew that something was up. Yusuke went first thing in the morning, and the thought was confirmed when Yusuke returned to the room. Only when Yusuke flashed him the bottle that he carried did Hiei smirk. So Yusuke was planning something. However he knew that he would enjoy the sweetest pleasure that his mate could give. He rolled onto his stomach, and raised his rear, knowing that it was what Yusuke would want anyway. Yusuke grinned. This reminded him of a scene from one of his ningen movies. Leaning over, Yusuke placed a kiss on each cheek before spreading Hiei's cheeks and giving a long lick, starting at his balls and ended above Hiei's puckered hole, having to hold Hiei securely as he knew that the attention would excite Hiei further, and he wanted his mate to be coherent enough to know that he was being taken. Inserting first one finger, then two, he could feel Hiei's lust-filled thoughts cross the bond and grinned. Today would be ecstatic for the apparition; he would make sure of that.

 

Hiei could feel every movement that Yusuke was doing inside him, and it felt curiously like he was getting prepared for sex, however he knew that it couldn't be; Yusuke didn't have any kind of sex drive at the moment. He relaxed totally into the other's tender administrations. That was what Yusuke was waiting for; before he had inserted his fingers he had made sure that his hard flesh had been lubricated well and made sure that when his fingers were removed that his erection was right at the entrance, giving Hiei the right impression. “Yusuke?” Hiei asked just as Yusuke pressed into the tight heat, making Hiei buck against him and moan heatedly. If this was a dream, why wake up? Yusuke smirked. He knew that it was possible that Hiei thought that this was a dream, however the pain would tell him otherwise later. Hiei always had liked a little pain in their lovemaking. For now he wanted to reaffirm their bond.

 

It didn't taker long before Hiei became fully aware that it wasn't a dream. He would know the feel of Yusuke's cock in his ass anytime it was there, which meant that Yusuke hadn't invested in a `toy' either. This had to be the real thing! “Yusuke, if you're going to fuck me, fuck me.” Hiei snapped. Yusuke pouted before grinning as he did as his beloved asked. How could he refuse his lover?

 

Hiei was pleased that Yusuke was returning to normal. However, the thing that had annoyed him most over the last couple of weeks was Yusuke's eating habits… or rather lack of them. Yusuke hadn't eaten anything substantial, and when he had eaten, the food had to be shoved into his mouth. Eventually he had given up, and then Yusuke confided in him that he was always hungry, and yet unable to stomach anything served to him, now Yusuke had begun to severely lose weight, and Hiei worried that the pregnancy could end up killing his beloved mate. He had a planned visit with Raizen later that day, and he intended on questioning the spirit about what was wrong. However for now he would enjoy his time with his mate.

 

 

Later that day, Hiei had Mukuro make an excuse why she wanted Yusuke to remain at her place, rather than accompany his mate, and that left Hiei with the twins. “Mama, where are we going?” Hiei smiled at Kaiya, she was ever the inquisitive one.

 

“My girl, we are going to see your ancestors on your father's side. Something is wrong with your daddy, and I need to ask them some questions because I am concerned that it will hurt your brothers and sisters.” Hiei said, trying to explain things to his daughter. “You need not worry, anyway your ancestress is dying to meet you two.” The children giggled. “They may not give gifts, but they want to meet you both.” With that Hiei opened a portal to Reikai and he, with the twins, passed through it.

 

They found themselves just outside the doors to Koenma's rooms. “Come in, Hiei, I have been expecting you.” The God called as the doors opened. His eyes looked to the twins that accompanied Hiei. “These must be your twins, Yasuo and Kaiya.” He stated, getting stares from the twins. “They are quite beautiful.” Koenma said before adding `Just like you were before you had the Jagan implanted' in his mind. “Raizen and Kamiko are waiting for you. You know the way, don`t you?” Hiei nodded and led the twins to the room.

 

 

Opening the door, he ushered the twins in before him. In the room sat Raizen, with the human he loved dearly. However the moment that Kamiko saw the twins she approached them. “These are your babies?” She asked excitedly as she hugged them. “They are so sweet!” Yasuo tried to pry himself out of the human spirit's grasp, while Kaiya melted into it. Hiei smiled as he approached Raizen.

 

“Lord Raizen, a problem has occurred. After we became mates, Yusuke went into heat and pregnancy occurred.” Hiei said as he led the older demon away from where the children were. “However these past few weeks he hasn`t eaten anything. If he doesn't eat something soon, then I fear that something bad will happen.” Raizen nodded solemnly.

 

“He is reacting to the pregnancy like a Toushin.” Raizen said. “My son and his litter will require the meat of humans to live off of. That is what he is missing, and will need to survive.” Raizen said. “That is what he needs, and also what he is most likely to refuse to eat, so I wish you luck in trying to convince him, although the scent should be enough to tempt him.” He then led Hiei back to the twins and the love of his life. ”They are both very beautiful children.” He said as he looked both over, tickling Kaiya much to her delight. “I can see that the Koorime blood still runs deeply in your veins, and there is definitely the look of my son about your own boy, he definitely has a Toushin look about him, yet he also has Koorime eyes and a look of the fire youkai tribe too. A right little `mutt' he is.” That earned him a bite from Yasuo, which made Raizen laugh. “You'll do fine, little Yasuo, grow big and strong to protect your brothers and sisters, okay?” The boy nodded.

 

Kamiko then gave each twin and their mother a tight hug as their time came to an end. Take care, all of you, and keep the kids safe, Hiei.” She said with a laugh as Hiei spluttered in indignation. “It was a joke, Hiei. I can clearly see that you care about your children very much, and are an excellent mother.” She kissed his cheek. “Please visit soon.” Hiei nodded as he ushered the twins to the door, and outside, closing the door behind them. He led the twins back to Koenma's office, and Botan popped up telling Hiei that Koenma was expecting him, and led the twins away.

 

Entering the room, he saw Koenma in his adult form, something that he preferred to the toddler form he usually saw. “Hiei, I know what you are going to ask.” Koenma said. “I have already asked my father and he says that he is willing to allow you to do as you want, on one condition, it is to be only those that justice fails to find that you are allowed to take. That means that you are employed by me and this lasts the duration of Yusuke's pregnancy, no longer unless he becomes pregnant at a later date, deal?”

 

Hiei nods. “Thank you, Koenma.” The apparition said as he looked at Koenma gratefully. “I shall always be in your debt for this chance.” He said as Koenma started to usher him out of the room, not before pressing a sheet into his hand, the sheet had a picture of his first `victim'. Hiei just nodded, fixing the picture in his mind for later before he left to return to Makai. Tonight they would be returning to Ningenkai, it was Kurama's birthday after all, and it gave him perfect chance to catch the rapist that he was to `do away with'.

 

 

Later that night, the family returned to Ningenkai and attended the party, however after half an hour Hiei disappeared. Yusuke searched the entire house, inside and out, yet there was no sign of the apparition and with the twins there, he couldn't leave the house. He trusted his friends… he just didn't trust Kurama's `pets'. He had seen the teeth on some of the more dangerous Makai plants, which made him shiver at the thought of them taking a bite out of his children so he returned to them.

 

Hiei watched his mate go back into the building and smirked. He knew that Yusuke's current priority was their children, both those that was born, and those that his mate was carrying. He wouldn't even think of doing anything to jeopardize those lives he still carried.. Except eating, that was the one thing that he still refused to do. However, with luck, Yusuke would be eating again tomorrow. All Hiei needed was the main ingredient, which he found using the Jagan Eye. The man was terrorizing a girl not that far from the apartment. That was fine, he could save the girl, kill the man and have the body back in Makai in quick succession. This kill couldn't be easier.

 

Leaping from building to building, he soon had the evildoer in his sights and smirked. As he jumped down behind the man, he saw how tall he was, but also how lean. `Not much flesh on his bones.' Hiei thought as he deliberately made a noise to distract the man from the girl he had against the wall. “Now that isn't nice.” Hiei said as the man spun around. Hiei looked at the girl. “Go straight home, little girl, and take no alley routes, okay?” The girl nodded and ran away.

 

“You little bastard!” The man shouted as he ran for Hiei. “I'll kill you!” Hiei simply dodged his attack, making the man fall to the ground. “You punk! Come back here!” Again Hiei dodged the attack.

 

“I was sent here by the God of the Reikai. You have to be punished for your crimes, and they decided that if the ningen justice system will not punish you, then they shall.” Hiei gave a scary smile. “So we can do this the easy way, or the hard way. The choice is yours” Even with the human struggling, it didn't take long for the apparition to gain the upper hand, and a quick downwards thrust of the katana brought an end to his life. Leaving Botan to collect the spirit, Hiei then started to cut into the flesh, gathering as much as he could before having to leave, making a detour to Makai to dump the meat and to wash up, dressing in identical clothing after he had scrubbed every last scent of the dead man off of him. Only then did he return to the party, and to his mate's arms.

 

As the night grew late, Yusuke grew more tired, eventually asking Hiei if they could go `home'. Hiei agreed, considering that the twins were yawning too, and they went back to Mukuro's and Hiei tucked the twins and his mate up before he went into Mukuro's library to search for any recipes that he could use, that was strong enough to hide the scent of the human, after all he was certain that if Yusuke learned exactly what he would be eating, that he would refuse that too, that would hurt the unborn litter much more than anything else. Finding a suitable recipe, he set about cooking the `meat'. Most Toushin didn't care whether the humans were cooked, but Hiei refused to give Yusuke raw food.

 

 

Yusuke awoke to a wonderful smell of something cooking over a fire. It smelled familiar, he wasn't too bothered with it, however it made his stomach rumble and he knew that he had to try it. Following the scent, he found himself outside the kitchen, and looking in, he saw that Hiei was the one doing the cooking and was reading from a hand written note as he threw ingredient after ingredient into a pan, allowing it to simmer. “Need any help?” Yusuke asked as he made his presence known, making Hiei jump.

 

“Yusuke, don't do that. You could send me to an early grave.” Hiei said as he walked over to the fire. “No, I don't require any help, other than your taste buds when this is fully cooked.” He pulled out four Donabe he had been using to cook the flesh in before cutting them up finer and mixing it with the simmering gravy. “This was going to be a surprise for you.” He said as he kept stirring the mixture. I went to see your ancestress and your `father' yesterday. He told me what he thought was wrong and I thought I'd try to see if it was right.” Yusuke sat at the table.

 

“Look, Hiei, I think I know what you have put in that pot, and that is why I'm not going to ask. If it were, then I'd probably refuse to eat it, and if I don't know for sure what it is, then I can give it a fair chance.” Yusuke's statement made Hiei pause. It didn't truly surprise the apparition.

 

“Very well, my dear Toushin.” Hiei said as he motioned to Yusuke to sit at the table, taking a seat beside him. “I just want this to be as painless and less bothersome than it is now. You don't deserve it, neither of us do.” Yusuke leaned against Hiei. “I also don't want to lose our babies, you know.” Yusuke grinned, remembering how excited the twins were when they told then that they were having baby brothers and sisters. In fact they had done a lot of work helping Yusuke and Hiei out with everything that they asked them to do, not to mention Yusuke felt like a pregnant dog in a petting zoo, Hiei and the twins loved touching his bump and guessing how many babies would come out. Not that Yusuke minded, he loved being the centre of everyone's attention.

 

 

After half an hour, Hiei served Yusuke the stewed meat, and Yusuke took a bite. It was good… no it was better than good, and he kept on eating until the plate was empty, licking the plate of the juices before handing Hiei the plate, asking for more. Happy to oblige his lover, Hiei gave him another plateful, which was soon emptied too. “My, that was shifted quickly.” Hiei commented. He was happy that Yusuke liked the stew; at least he knew what to give Yusuke to eat. He stroked Yusuke's face and felt Yusuke lean against him in return. This was much better, even if he had to catch and cook humans. Yusuke and their babies had to live; there was no choice about that.
