It was a few hours since I had revealed myself to protect the girls. I opened one eyelid and stared at the two girls. They were chattering to themselves.

 

“ So are you gonna keep your promise or what?” I asked. Keiko and Yukina looked up.

 

“ Huh?” Keiko said.

 

“ You said you would teach me how to read if I showed you what I looked like,” I patiently explained.

 

“ Oh yes! Of course. First of all, you'll need to learn the alphabet…” Yukina began talking. I hung on to her every word. Learning to read would be easy…

 

Ooo Two Weeks Later Ooo

 

“ I still don't know how you convinced me to do this,” I grumbled as I finished buttoning the uniform. It was dark blue, almost grey, and was too modest for my tastes. I prefered my own outfit over this. Yukina popped her head out of the kitchen door, smiling.

 

“ C'mon Kuro-chan, it's not that bad,” I just scowled. Yukina was wearing the Sarayashiki High uniform, which was a long skirt that went to her knees and a long sleeved shirt with a yellow handkerchief. She looked wonderful in it, though Yukina looked good in just about anything that was blue or green. My ears, fangs, claws, and wings were disguised and I looked perfectly human, right down to a T. Except that I was unusually tall, but that's what attracted all the ladies.

 

“ Kuro-chan, hurry up! We're going to be late!” Yukina called. I sighed in resignation and grabbed my pack that held all my books. I met the appararition outside the shrine. Yukina smiled.

 

“ Thank you for coming with me, Kuronue. But right now, we need to go meet up with Keiko-chan and her friends,” Yukina told me. I nodded.

 

“ Do you know if Keiko-chan's friends are pretty?” I asked. Yukina giggled and playfully hit my arm.

 

“ Kuro-chan! Don't be such a flirt,” I sighed dramatically.

 

“ I can't help it, Yukina-chan, it's just who I am,” I said. Yukina giggled some more. I rolled my eyes.

 

“ What's with females and giggling? I mean, youkai females swear they're nothing like human females, yet they all giggle,” I asked Yukina. Yukina shrugged.

 

“ I don't know Kuro-chan, I don't know,” The trip to Keiko's was silent. We finally arrived to see the girl running out the door with a tall brown haired woman waving goodbye.

 

“ See ya Keiko! And if you see me stupid lil' bro, tell him to get his ass home,” She said.

 

“ Shizuru! Come here, I want you to meet someone!” Keiko told her. Shizuru raised her brow and followed her. When they stopped, Shizuru eyed me for a moment.

 

“ You're not human,” She told me. I grinned.

 

“ I'm so glad you noticed. How can you tell?”

 

“ I have a sixth sense. Its been in overdrive since I went to the Dark Tournament. No I wasn't a participant. Another way I can tell is that you're too handsome to be a human,” I smirked, my ego flying.

 

“ Really? You're the first one bold enough to say so. I am Kuronue, just a simple thieving bat demon who was taken away from his job because of an annoying little toddler. And you are?” Shizuru smirked back at me.

 

“ Kuwabara Shizuru. Call me Shizuru. You probably know of my little brother if you work for Koenma. So I take it you're the new addition to the Spirit Detectives?”

 

“ Yeah, `cept I had to be revived for it. The others don't know yet. I plan on surprising them,” I winked at her. The faintest of blushes spread across Shizuru's face, but in the next instant, it disappeared.

 

“ Whatever. You three should be get a move on if you plan on getting to school on time,” Shizuru pointed out, clearly flustered by her attraction to me. I just grinned slyly and nodded.

 

“ Ja ne, Shizuru-chan,” After we left, Keiko and Yukina burst into giggles.

 

“ That was the first time I've seen Shizuru blush. I thought for sure she would slug you for flirting with her, Kuronue,” Keiko snickered.

 

“ Ah, but once I set my sights on a female, it is impossible to ignore me. I can prove it too,” I said. Keiko smirked at me.

 

“ Alright Kuronue. At the end of the day, we'll say how many girls either want your phone number, gave theirs, or want a date. That includes asking Yukina or I to set one up for you or receiving one through your locker,” Keiko set the challenge. I grinned.

 

“ By the end of the day, any girl I have talked to will be a blushing mess if they see me,” I bragged.

 

As we approached the school, hundreds of students were milling about. Three girls spotted us and waved.

 

“ Keiko-chan!” They called.

 

“ Yuka! Eri! Ayumi!” Keiko waved back. I smirked to myself. My first three victims. Yukina saw the look on my face and rolled her eyes.

 

“ Keiko-chan, who're your friends?” Eri asked.

 

“ Oh! This is Namida Yukina and Koto Kuronue,” Keiko said. “ Yukina, Kuronue, this is Kichi Eri, Kara Ayumi, and Ima Yuka.” I bowed.

 

“ How wonderful it is to meet such beautiful young ladies,” I smiled. All three girls promptly blushed.

 

“ So, Kuronue-kun, how old are you?” Ayumi asked. My smile turned sly.

 

“ Eighteen, Ayumi-chan,” I replied.

 

“ Do you have any brothers?” Yuka piped up. I shook my head in negative. The girls seemed disappointed.

 

“ Hey, Keiko, can we borrow some paper and a pencil?” Ayumi inquired. Keiko nodded and pulled out the items. Ayumi turned Eri around and wrote on her back. Eri did the same, then Yuka wrote on Ayumi's back. Then Yuka handed me the paper.

 

“ Call us sometime! Ja ne Yukina, Keiko, and Kuronue-kun!” The girls waved and walked away. I smirked at Keiko, who was gaping.

 

“ You just got three numbers in two minutes!”

 

“ You underestimated me, Keiko-chan. You forget that my partner was of Youko Kurama, King of Thieves. Not only that, he was the most eligible bachelor in Makai. Almost every female wanted be in his bed at least once,” Keiko flushed. Yukina just shook her head, obviously used to the fact. Then, a flare of anger entered her eyes.

 

“ You aren't actually going to sleep with these girls are you?” I rolled my eyes.

 

“ So little faith. Of course I won't. They probably wouldn't be able to keep up with me anyway,” Keiko's face turned tomato red and even Yukina blushed.

 

Ooo Lunch Ooo

 

Throughout the day, I had dogged Yukina. Okay, so half the time I was watching her. The other half was spent flirting with girls. Three fourths of the female population now giggled and stared every time I walked by, and I was working on wooing the rest of the females. Some of the girls were shy and timid. Others were bold and daring. There were none who were not interested.

 

I found Yukina and Keiko easily and sat down with them.

 

“ So Kuronue, what's your count?” Keiko asked me.

 

“ Two hundred and four numbers and one hundred and ninety-six dates. Oh yes, and twenty-two offers for sex,” I said. Keiko wrinkled her nose at my last comment.

 

“ Whatever. Ninety-seven people gave me their phone number to give to you and thirty-three want dates. What about you Yukina?” Yukina blushed.

 

“ Well, no one actually asked me to give phone numbers to Kuro-chan, or set up dates. Instead, I received one hundred and forty-five letters to give to him,” Yukina said softly. I began thinking.

 

“ Lesse, three hundred and one phone numbers, two hundred twenty-nine dates, one hundred forty-five letters, and twenty-two sex offers. That's quite a record. It beat my old one. Then again, ningens don't exactly resist advances like many youkai females do. Plus, there are hundreds of females here. I suppose today is just my lucky day,” I winked. Keiko and Yukina rolled their eyes.

 

“ You're so funny Kuro-chan,” Yukina said.

 

“ Hey! Yukina-chan!” A male voice called. The hairs on the back of my neck raised in warning. A dark brown haired boy ran up.

 

“ Yukina-chan, I've been looking everywhere for you. I was wondering if you would like to come out to dinner with me sometime,” The boy said.

 

“ No thank you Nugayo-san. I'm rather busy,” Yukina turned down the offer.

 

“ Aw, why not, it would be fun,” The Nugayo boy persisted.

 

“ I believe Yukina said no. Now would you kindly leave, you're ruining the peaceful atmosphere,” I said, my voice calm and controlled. The boy turned his brown eyes to me.

 

“ Who asked you? It's her decision,” I sensed Yukina did not want a fight over her.

 

“ Just turn and walk away. You have never seen us in your life. Just turn and walk away,” I said, my voice becoming dark, my eyes glowing. The boy's eyes became dull and he slowly walked away. Keiko stared.

 

“ Wow…you just…” I smirked at her.

 

“ I have some mental capabilities. They are very low however, but on weak minds and souls, particularly humans, I can control them for about ten minutes. Unlike the more trained and powerful psychics, I can't speak mind to mind unless it were with my mate,” I told her. Keiko's mouth formed an `O'. I looked to Yukina.

 

“ Are you alright Yukina-chan?” The Ice Maiden nodded.

 

“ Thank you Kuronue. I met him briefly in third period, but he never advanced on me like that,” Yukina said.

 

“ Don't worry about it Yukina. If you don't want someone near you, I'll take care of it,” I said.

 

“ Aw! That's so sweet. I wish Yususke would say that to me!” Keiko cooed. I turned my head away and Yukina blushed.

 

“ It's nothin' like that. I'm just her bodyguard,” I said roughly. Keiko just laughed. `I can't get too close to Yukina. I can't let her get hurt like I did to Karei…'
