[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
TNHH: My evil friend, Kara, has released the plot bunnies. Now the have foraged and taken hold in my mind. Forgive the unexpected turn of events.
Hiei: *opens closet door*
Kurama: *falls out*
Botan: *nudges with a foot* I think he's dead.
Kurama's finger: *twitches*
Botan: Oh, wait. Nevermind.
Tsukiko: *glares* How could you kill me off?
Hiei: Hn…
*-*
Hiei was gone. It was as simple as that. No warning, just a simple mission that Kurama hadn't been able to go one because of young Kogoe.
They had come back, but not Hiei. They said he had decided to stay in Makai for a while.
He hadn't come back.
It had been three months. Three long, excruciating months.
Kurama had waited, wanting desperately to tell Hiei what he had just realized.
He was in love.
But not just with anyone. Oh, no. With his best friend.
With a small creatusre full of self-loathing and contempt.
With a fiery little Koorime.
With Hiei.
But somehow that didn't sound quite right. No…
With HIS Hiei.
Yes, that sounded perfect.
“Kurama, are you all right?” Yuusuke knew very well that Hiei's little disappearing act had done something to Kurama's mind.
Those two had been closetr than friends.
“Yes, Yuusuke. I am fine.” Kurama wound one fine strand of Kogoe's black hair around his slender finger.
The baby's hair grew surprisingly fast.
Almost as an after-thought, Kurama whispered, “After all, I have my Kogoe No Kiei with me.”
Yuusuke blanched. Kogoe no Hiei could be translated as Hiei's Whisper.
Shiori quietly enter the room and carefully lifted Kogoe out of Kurama's arms. She carried her away.
She hadn't asked Kurama any questions; she had just accepted the child as a new member of the family. She helped to take care of her, even though she was seven months pregnant and waddled like a duck.
Kurama sat there, lifeless, until Shiori returned a freshly bathed Kogoe to his arms.
Yuusuke took one look at his friend, who had seemed to grow smaller, and left the room.
Outside, Shiori grabbed Yuusuke's collar. “Damnit, boy, you had better tell me what is wrong with my son.”
To avoid getting beaten bloody, black, and blue, Yuusuke hurriedly told her everything. After he had left, Shiori sank to the ground, head in her hands.
Her son was a demon. From another dimension, or something like that. And his love had disappeared in that… thing.
And all she wanted to do was help him.
“I'm so sorry, my son…”
From the bedroom, a tortured whisper could be heard.
“Hiei… Ai shiteru, my Hiei…”
