"Oh my-" He coughed from the sudden inhale of smoke and the scent of blood. He could taste the aromas in his mouth which foretold death. Just as he saw before. Gobona again, maybe it was Junital... but... He shook his head, clearing the thought. ‘I don’t think it would be Canano, most likely Gabona. Damn their souls to the pits of Hell!’
Of course his dreams were not clear on the concept of whom invaded, however, but it did tell of a war, and a soul he was responsible for saving. He sighed in grief and sadness. War was such a worthless way to peace and it didn’t even end in pacification ! It was like a two year old who threw a tantrum to get its way. That’s all it was. He raised his hand in front of him, stretching his arm out. "Isei Hi, Chi, Mizu, Koori, soshite Kaze. tomoshibi oyobi kuragari gattai ,en, youjutsusha Kannan, kyuu goshujin supirittsu oite
goshujin hikuihoukounin tame shi-ku ken hiroimono , karera dare zanson hon ashi eki... EN SHOU KAZE!!" He chanted loudly, and watched the east wind blow away the smoke to reveal a horrid sight indeed.
Blood, as he could tell before, was everywhere. Decapitated bodies and aimed parts were covering the grass. His eyes widened. He scanned around the village that was still burning. This was obviously a recent battle. He walked over to one of the bodies and saw a bronze sword.
"GABONA!!! DAMN THEM!" He yelled as he saw the shape of the weapon. It was modeled like a lightening bolt. They attacked an innocent VILLAGE!
"Hi- tame sou..." He said clearly watching the sword melt in his hand. He sighed looking around for the survivors. He looked up, it was still noon so he had a couple of hours. He just hoped he wasn’t to late.

Kannan had almost given up hope, Janito would be onto him tonight, he was supposed to be home seven hours ago. There was only one more place to look, which was one house that had crumbled. Swiftly he started removing the debris, feeling hopeless and exhausted. he frowned as he saw a couple of more people including a man, woman,
and a teenager, probably seventeen. ‘What a sad age to die at...’ He thought as he checked them all over. The man and woman were crushed by the pillars that supported the small shack-like house. Slowly he looked at the boy, he was... wow. Kannan snapped out of it, thinking about the fact that the boy was dead, no one could survive one hundred
pounds worth of stone falling on them. However he was surprised that in fact he was wrong...
****
Why was he so helpless? All those years of training, of fighting have proven to be nothing against the real thing! He couldn’t save his family, he couldn’t save the person closest to him, his sister and he couldn’t save the village. He was pathetic! How dare he
call himself a warrior! How dare he say he could keep this family safe! God he wanted to DIE! And he hoped he would! The pain was getting worse and worse, so it would all be over.
However he felt warm hands on his face, caressing him gently. Who was it? Why didn’t they just leave him to die like he deserved. He felt his eyes slide open heavily. He was greeted by a warm smile on a face he didn’t know. He growled and went to draw the sword that was at his side but found it was no longer there.
"Oh so you’re finally awake? I could have sworn I lost you there..." The person said in a semi alto voice that matched the warm smile.
"L-leave me..." He felt himself say, closing his eyes again.
"What do you mean ‘leave you’ I spent nine hours looking for you and Janito’s going to be on my ass tonight." He still felt those warm slender fingers on his temples. The pain was starting to leave him, bones healing. He groaned and turned his head painfully, getting out of the person’s touch.
"Looks like I’ve found a stubborn fool hm?" The person said and laughed lightly, once again placing their fingers on his temples.
"A-and you’re not?" For some reason he had to say that, he just had to get that out.
"I never said I wasn’t.... there..." He felt sudden relief of pain flowing through him. "Come on I’ll take you-' However he didn’t hear where he was being taken, for at that moment he blacked out. But he had a feeling he was in safe arms.
***
Janito growled as he brushed his short black hair back with his fingers. "Where the hell is he? He better not be in the middle of a fight!" He looked at the moon, that filled his chocolate brown eyes with light. "Stupid sorcerer! Thinks he’s all that because he can
do a couple of stupid spells, feh."
"Stupid sorcerer? One that’s saved your ass on several occasions with a couple of ‘stupid’ spells as I recall. Well for them being stupid, you sure do seem in good health... but that might not be accurate for long." Janito turned as he heard that familiar voice fill
his ears. "Well um.... yeah... don’t hurt me!" He said putting up his hands. Kannan smiled simply. "We have a guest Janito..." He replied indicating the young boy asleep in his strong arms.
"Oi shit! K-" Janito was cut off by Kannan placing his fingers on his lips. "ssshhh... His village was attacked by Gobona-"
"AGAIN DAMN THEIR FUCKING SOULS!" Kannan’s eyes widened. "Janito shut up!"
"Nnnn" The boy started to stir slightly, opening his eyes.
"Janito......." Kannan’s voice had an edge to it. Janito started to sweat. "S-sorry, Kura-"
"JANITO SHUT THE HELL UP YOU KNOW YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO
USE OUR...!" Kannan stopped suddenly.
"Wha?" The boy said quietly. Janito blinked, and looked at the boy. "Gomen Kannan." He whispered quietly. "Yeah yeah the next time it happens you’ll be sorry." Kannan warned then looked down at the villager in his arms.
The boy’s eyes widened and suddenly shook madly in Kannan’s arms. "Hey quiet down! You’re alright!"
The boy still thrashed around and grabbed Kannan’s neck. Janito’s brown eyes widened. Quickly he ran to Kannan and knocked the boy in the back of the head, making him pass out. Kannan sighed and nodded to Janito in thanks. Quietly Kannan bent down to place the teen on the ground. He held one hand in front of the youth’s face and
mumbled.
"Bind..." The boy suddenly froze, but the his eyes opened, obviously Janito’s hits weren’t that hard. Kannan could tell that he wanted to defend himself but in a more violent manner. Kannan frowned, red eyebrows coming together in thought. Janito looked at his companion and then at the binded body. "Kannan are you going to tell him what you think happen-" He was cut off by Kannan’s hand, motioning him to stop. "Yes Janito.. I will, just wait... Can you get me two blankets?" Janito’s eyes narrowed. "Do it now..."
"Fine fine! Geeze..." Janito sighed and went into the back of the now dark cave and returned a few minutes later with the blankets and a pillow. "Thank you Janito you will be rewarded..." There was a glint in Kannan’s jade eyes. Janito flashed a grin and laid the cotton blankets down. Kannan placed the boy on the one of the sheets and gently draped the other on him. "Listen I know you want to attack us because you don’t know who we are... But I wouldn’t have saved you just to hurt you. You can trust us, we won’t harm you in any way, shape or form.... understand?" Kannan said with a soothing
voice as he undid the binding charm. The boy let out a breath but was glaring at Kannan and Janito with his cold crimson eyes. Janito shivered slightly at the look. "K’so Kannan! Why’d you have to bring a glaring cricket home?!" Kannan smiled and chuckled. "Inari
knows... I just found him alive," He turned to the boy. "I’m Kannan." He stated holding out a pale hand. Again the crimson eyes glared. Kannan removed his hand. "And I’m Janito!" The brown eyed boy added in, grinning foolishly.
"What am I doing here?" The newcomer said icily. Kannan frowned.
"I believe Gabona attacked your village... you were the only survivor." Kannan’s eyes saddened as he watched the boy’s expression turn from cruelity to panic. "What about?!" The boy’s eyes were wide with hysteria. "Shhhh.... please be still, I know what you’re going through but now’s not a time you lose your head." Kannan said calmly, trying to reassure the boy. "Please let’s just start off with your name..." The boy’s eyes narrowed. "What’s it to you?" He replied acidly.
"Woah, woah, woah! Kid you ought to be thanking Kannan! He saved your-"
Janito was cut off by his companion’s hand once again. "Don’t scare him even more than he already is Janito. Listen," the emerald eyes returned to crimson, "You can stay here for a while, okay?" The crimson eyes narrowed into a glare. "I’m not scared and I won’t stay here, not for another minute!" He stood up and looked at the light of the moon. Then he realized, he was in a cave! He felt strong arms grab him from behind. "You not going anywhere!" He looked up into the green eyes, and was starting to get annoyed by them. He escaped from the grasp and turned to face his captors.
Janito was fairly plain looking, short black hair that was disarrayed every direction and chocolate brown eyes. He was slightly tanned and looked about twenty-three. He wore a green warrior tunic that stopped death at the waist and tied with a black sash. His
pants were the same color green.
The other one, Kannan, was a tall man, thin and youthful in everyway. Red hair reached a little passed his broad shoulders. The emerald colored eyes were set in an elegant face with pale skin. Those eyes held so much, he could tell, so many secrets, so much knowledge and yet... so much sadness. The boy’s eyes scanned Kannan’s attire.
And his eyes widened. A low cut fishnet shirt covered his torso, atoped with a fine black and yellow silk kimono that was tied with a yellow silk sash that wrapped around his waist and continued down to about the shins. He wore black silk pants under that and no shoes,
but of course you had to be rich to have shoes but silk... The mark on Kannan’s palm is what interested him most, it was a mark... of a mage. Those two seemed so familiar.
"Okay that’s enough I’d say it’s time to rest don’t you agree Janito?" The black headed boy nodded. "Yeah your right, come on cricket, time for beddy-by." With that he started cracking up and the ‘cricket’ glared. Janito immediately shut up and went deeper
into the cave.

"Sorry about him," Kannan said softly as he brought in blankets and pillow for his guest. The boy just glared at him.
"He’s been that way for as long as I’ve known him... just... immature in a sense. So.... was Gabona the bastards who attacked your village?" He was silenced by another scowl look. "Okay we can talk about it tomorrow... agreed?"
"Hn... I guess..." Kannan smiled at the small response as he tossed the pillow and blankets to him, while snuggling down in his own. "I just have a couple of questions..." The boy said glumly as he prepared his own bed. "And what are they?"
"How did you find me?" Kannan smiled sadly. "Well it comes with being a sorcerer you know, you get dreams and visions...."
"Hn... understandable, now, why didn’t you just leave me like I told you too?" Kannan just glanced at him. "I felt like I was the one who had to save you, I knew no one else would, like I said I’ve been where you are now, I know how I’d feel if I was left alone to suffer and dead without avenging those who trusted their lives to me... it’s a
complicated matter..."
"Have I met you before you seem... familiar in a way..." Kannan shook his head.
"I-I don’t believe so, well just rest okay?" The boy glared again but rested his head.
Of course his dreams were not clear on the concept of whom invaded, however, but it did tell of a war, and a soul he was responsible for saving. He sighed in grief and sadness.
